Double Gameweek 37 enters its fifth day of action this evening, serving up two more fixtures to entertain Fantasy managers.

Arsenal welcome Sunderland to the Emirates in the 7.45pm kick-off as Alexis Sanchez looks to add to his goal and assist haul in Saturday’s demolition of Stoke.

Captained by 10.6% of FPL managers, the Chilean is the second most popular armband pick for the Gameweek. As expected, he has shrugged off a leg problem to start against the Black Cats, while fellow weekend scorers Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are also named in the first XI as Arsene Wenger’s side attempt to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.

Man City entertain West Bromwich Albion in the second match of their Double Gameweek at 8pm.

Sergio Aguero returns to the starting XI alongside Gabriel Jesus as Raheem Sterling drops to the bench for the home side. The Argentine produced zero points as a sub at home to Leicester on Saturday, though boasting a 17% ownership, he is City’s most captained player (8.1%) for their pair of fixtures.

The top transfer target for Double Gameweek 37, Jesus rewarded his 217,000+ new owners with an eight-point haul against the Foxes, while Leroy Sane’s 7% backers will be hoping for more of the same after he delivered a season-high 11 points in the weekend win.

      perhaps neither? Is there a weak player in your team this week that could be changed for a higher chance of guaranteed points.

      Both of those could outscore coutinho

    Alexis Sanchez you beautiful beautiful man.

    3 weeks ago, I'd accepted my fate of 2nd in my ML, with 1st somehow 117 points ahead.

    I think there's a bug in the FPL monthly league table (and I play in a monthly cash game) !!!!!

    If the first wee of the Month has a hit it ISN'T subtracted from the monthly score. Only subsequent week's hits are .

          I'd forgotten about it but:

          FPL - Rules - Leagues - Classic Scoring
          "...Any transfer point deductions in the Gameweek before a phase starts won't be deducted from the phase score. For example, any transfers made in Gameweek 3 (preparing for Gameweek 4) won't be deducted from your September score."

    4. GivetNgog
      • 15 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

      Afraid that's correct - debatable whether the right policy, but they do state this in the rules (Help > Rules > Leagues > Classic scoring). Assume it's done so people can prepare for a particular month with impunity, and thus encourage more to do so. Should at least be taken off the previous month's score (the week it's actually made) but sounds like it's not...

    Front 8 AOA for GW38 at the moment. 2FT, 0 in bank. Thoughts?

    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen King Albrighton
    Kane Jesus Gabbiadini

    A) Hazard + Albrighton + Gabbiadini > Coutinho + Fabregas + Lolrente (-4)
    B) Hazard + Albrighton > Coutinho + Fabregas. and hope Gabbi plays on AOA
    C) Do B...ditch AOA and play Monreal over Gabbi.

    Thanks

        I could afford Hazard > Coutinho, Gabbi > Vardy...funded by Bailly/Monreal > cheapie (-4).

        Probably worth a hit and you're right...LEI could do very well, last home game of a season they need to make right for their fans.

    Who's been your personal favourite and least favourite FPL player this year?

    For me, favourite has been Sanchez - pretty much always produced when captained and got some big hauls (closely followed by Lukaku who seemed to be predictable for when he would get points)

    Least favourite has been Hazard - never had him at the right times and never seemed to get big points when expected.

    1. Shifty
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

      Favourite - Sanchez, Lukaku, Mane

      Least favourite - Hazard (owned him 3 times, no returns), Barkley, Aguero (just wasn't worth it this season especially as there's always "pressure" to captain him)

      1. Shifty

        i'd add Firmino to the least favourite as well. Just so unpredictable.

      Favourite Sanchez and Ibra, had Ibra when he went on his run before my rivals.

      Least are stones, Cedric and Daniels. Owned stones 3 weeks - 2pts total, swapped to Cedric and 3 weeks - 1pt, swapped to Daniels and 4 weeks - 2pts. Worst stretch of my year.

      Defenders like Alonso McAuley and Walker plus Heaton have kept my season alive long term.

    Good morning everyone. 10 points behind top 1k and contemplating possible moves for GW38. Naturally two games left of GW37 but if the distance stays the same how would you approach the final gameweek? Here are my transfer ideas:

    Caballero
    Alonso, Vertonghen, Yoshida
    Hazard, Sanchez, Alli, King
    Costa, Kane, Jesus

    subs: Pickford, Stephens, T.Carroll, Maguire --- 2 FT, 0.0 ITB

    A) Hazard & Caballero -> Coutinho & Mignolet
    B) Hazard & Maguire (to fund KDB) -> KDB & Fernandez
    C) Hazard & Costa -> Coutinho/KDB & Sturridge
    D) Something else, what?

            Cheers Shifty. Somehow I'm also tempted to keep Costa as I think he will start. However there could be an upside in Sturridge which I'll most possibly also need to catch top 1k.

            • 14 Years
            9 years, 1 month ago

            If I do Costa -> Sturridge would you get Coutinho or KDB in for Hazard? Going GW38 without Chelsea attacker doesn't feel too good though.

            1. Shifty
              • 12 Years
              9 years, 1 month ago

              Tough one that, I might be more tempted by KDB given form. Coutinho and Liverpool are a bit unpredictable...if you feel comfortable with a Liverpool strong win, a double up is still a good idea.

              Considering the same re: Chelsea (Hazard out, Fab/Willian in), but I was quite surprised by Sunderland last night. Seems like they took Wenger's comments quite personally.

      Well I'm 12pts up in mini league with my Kane vs his Gabbi and Davies to play.

      If my lead is somewhat intact, I might consider a hit of DeGea to Heaton to cover rival. Worried about a clean sheet and bonus pts on the last day at Turf Moore

      Pickford could be slaughtered against Chelsea, he has 11 saves yesterday but lots of this were straight at him. If Chelsea turn it on, theyll be tucking their efforts way so Pickford's save potential will be limited I feel

          Difficult to say. It's so easy to lose the clean sheet at any time and maybe Pickford ends on 3 and your replacement ends on 2,your down 5pts.

          For OR, I don't think the points potential outweighs the points lost, especially for one week

    That smug moment when you start to think you made the right move with Jesus (c) as he assists KDB just after scoring and you do the permutations....
    The smugness turns to in-trepidation on 72 mins when Alexis names flashes on the screen and you do the maths thinking not so bad Jesus still ahead and Sanchez devoid of bonus anyway....so much time for de Jesus to gain anyway due to the staggered kick offs..... still reasonably smug.....
    Boom your worst fears realised as you cheer on a City team you detest and a familiar name flashes on the screen again..... smug turns to rage..... even owning him doesn't feel enough......alll those TC ....... why did I go Jesus over Alexis....I hate this game.....now I have to face all those 'scorechecks' and smugness on scout....why do I play?....At least Willy has kept his c.s. I needed that just to balance up with Pickford ridiculous save tally.....

    Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

    Home Comforts in Gameweek 38.

    Gameweek 38 historically has an above average number of goals.

    But as discussed on last night’s Scoutcast this is particularly the case for home sides, who are looking to impress their own fans before the summer break.

    Here’s a look at the last two seasons to show how potent a GWK 38 home clash can be for a side.

    2015/16

    There were no away wins.

    Goals scored by home sides: 26
    Goals scored by away sides: 9
    Notable matches: Arsenal 4-0 Villa, Everton 3-0 Norwich, Newcastle 5-1 Spurs, Southampton 4-1 Palace

    2014/15

    Two away wins – Burnley v Villa, Spurs v Everton both 1-0

    Goals scored by home sides: 23
    Goals scored by away sides: 6
    Notable matches: Arsenal 4-0 West Brom, Chelsea 3-1 Sunderland, Stoke 6-1 Liverpool, Lei 5-1 QPR

    It looks like loading up attackers from home sides looks key.

    With this in mind who will you be captaining and transferring in this week?

      With this in mind I should drop Eriksen over Hazard for Coutinho then!

        Newcastle 5-1 Spurs last season. You could be right.

      I will be transferring in Sturridge for Costa. Captaining Holgate because of a prior commitment.

        Costa could punish you on what could be his last home game for Chelsea...A brace looks to be on the cards here...

          He has punished me enough this season by getting 1 or 2 points. I don't want him in my team anymore.

      The obvious one of Hazard to Coutinho for the ft, then for a hit do JWP or Alli for another home playing midfielder who looks up for it.
      The armband to Kane most likely.

      Great bit of research that Jonty. It's certainly made me change my plans this week.

      This is bad for me

      I have 5 away players - Kane,Alli,Jesus,sane,king

      Well i guess i am screwed

      Well, KDB, Alli, King, Eriksen, Kane, Jesus, Sané all play away - don't think you would advise getting rid would you?

      Vardy, Costa, Sturridge do look tempting though but bringing one of them is only possible with a -8 as far as I'm concerned... (Anichebe to be upgraded)

      So, not worth it I think.

      Thinking Vardy is the one with that B'mouth game looking ripe for goals.

      Hit to clear out Gabby pending any miracles tonight for Vardy. Will probably generate the cash by selling Sane (is he a rotation risk, looked jaded last night) to the best non-playing mid sub I can get.

      Great article, thx you.

      Please help me with for GW 38.

      A. Hazard -> KDB
      B. Hazard -> Coutinho
      C. Hazard -> Ozil
      C. Alli -> Coutinho

      I likely will play h2h with someone who has KDB, should I buy him for playing safe?

      My other MID are Sanchez, Eriksen & Tom Carroll.

      Cheers, thx you.

      I want to transfer in Coutinho for Hazard but to captain Kane in GW 38. Last night he was great!

    Bench Boost -

    Pickford 6
    Vertongen 2 + ?
    Evans 3
    Anichebe 1

    Should Stephens & Tadic both not play, my BB will give me just 7.
    The BB "play early" strategy that I used last season (before wk 10) got me 17/18 from memory - might be worth thinking about again.

      In fairness, 3 of your 4 were budget players with bad matchups though.

    Would you sell any of these two for free: Hazard (SUN) / Alli (hull) in order to get (C)outinho (MID)

      I'd do Alli -> Coutinho but Hazard seems to be the popular choice. Haz ives you spare cash to make a -4 worth it somewhere else too.

    So the consensus is that Costa will start GW38 and Batshuayi not?

    Was planning to do Haz & Gabbi for Cout & Bats but looking like Giroud might be a better option.......

    Will probably change plans completely if Gabbi scores tonight.

    Owning Hazard, Sane + Costa and being completely unsure who will play the next round is a tough one, obviously want Coutinho but can't afford to go Sane > Coutinho.

    Who is the biggest doubt for GW 38:

    a) Hazard
    b) Sane
    c) Costa

      Got to be Hazard given he was the only one omitted from rotation v Watford, hasn't it?

    De Gea
    Davies - Kompany - Monreal
    Hazard - Sanchez - Eriksen - Zaha
    Kane (C) - Gabb - Jesus

    (Pickford - De Roon - Yoshida - Barragan)

    1 ft. 2,1 ITB.

    Who would you rather have?

    A: Gabb --> Giroud
    B: De Roon --> Coutinho (-4)
    C: De Roon --> Sane
