Double Gameweek 37 enters its fifth day of action this evening, serving up two more fixtures to entertain Fantasy managers.

Arsenal welcome Sunderland to the Emirates in the 7.45pm kick-off as Alexis Sanchez looks to add to his goal and assist haul in Saturday’s demolition of Stoke.

Captained by 10.6% of FPL managers, the Chilean is the second most popular armband pick for the Gameweek. As expected, he has shrugged off a leg problem to start against the Black Cats, while fellow weekend scorers Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are also named in the first XI as Arsene Wenger’s side attempt to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive.

Man City entertain West Bromwich Albion in the second match of their Double Gameweek at 8pm.

Sergio Aguero returns to the starting XI alongside Gabriel Jesus as Raheem Sterling drops to the bench for the home side. The Argentine produced zero points as a sub at home to Leicester on Saturday, though boasting a 17% ownership, he is City’s most captained player (8.1%) for their pair of fixtures.

The top transfer target for Double Gameweek 37, Jesus rewarded his 217,000+ new owners with an eight-point haul against the Foxes, while Leroy Sane’s 7% backers will be hoping for more of the same after he delivered a season-high 11 points in the weekend win.

Owning Hazard, Sane + Costa and being completely unsure who will play the next round is a tough one, obviously want Coutinho but can't afford to go Sane > Coutinho.

Who is the biggest doubt for GW 38:

    a) Hazard
    b) Sane
    c) Costa

Got to be Hazard given he was the only one omitted from rotation v Watford, hasn't it?

    De Gea
    Davies - Kompany - Monreal
    Hazard - Sanchez - Eriksen - Zaha
    Kane (C) - Gabb - Jesus

(Pickford - De Roon - Yoshida - Barragan)

    1 ft. 2,1 ITB.

    Who would you rather have?

    A: Gabb --> Giroud
    B: De Roon --> Coutinho (-4)
    C: De Roon --> Sane

We have a cup and league competition. I've done the double this year. £170 for the league and £30 for the cup. Plus possibly manager of the month for May. My win seems quite modest compared to your league!

I'm 103 pts clear, so a win for me is certain(99%).

There's 9 players in our league, everyone's stake is 24€, winner gets 144€, second place 72€.

2nd season in a row TC has destroyed BB. Definitely will put way more emphasis on picking sweet pick for TC rather bowing down to the BB chip.

And before anyone says of course we scored well it was a DGW afterall.

Sanchez TC, for example, brought home an extra 27 points. That's way more than anyone proper bench score and don't forget this was a bench designed to score 'well', there's no way we'd have Cech, Pickford and Cab etc. without BB.

    1. Going Home
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 7 months ago

I don't know about "way more". Coutinho, Pickford, Zaha, King, Capoue, Saints defenders, McAwful all genuine bench options this week and could have produced upwards of 27 points together. Not to mention TC Sanchez last week was worth 14 points...

    2. kalmoffit
      • 12 Years
      8 years, 7 months ago

People saying that are wrong though. The difference between captaining Sanchez and triple captaining Sanchez is a lot less than Bench Boost for many.

      1. Pep says
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 7 months ago

Agreed. The difference for me currently is 2 pts - 9pts (Kun TC) + whatever I would have earned on my BB week. Doubt it would be much more than 10pts difference

        1. kalmoffit
          • 12 Years
          8 years, 7 months ago

I got 9 extra for Kun TC, and 30 for BB.

          • 10 Years

          8 years, 7 months ago

Exactly, prime TC picks this week other than Sanchez (KdB, Costa, Aguero, Jesus, Spurs depending upon tonight) didn't necessarily out score prime benches.

It all depends upon how you set up your team and shed loads of good fortune

If the season was played again Aguero in 27 would still be the best choice .... without hindsight ...

    4. 1Banksy
      • 10 Years

My proper bench boost of Cech, Holding, King and Capoue scored 34 so worked out for me. Would have been even more had it not been for Crouch's successful Maradona impression.

I think there are other weeks where a triple captain chip can be used effectively, but GW37 was by far the best week to use a BB on.

      1. Zizou
        • 16 Years
        8 years, 7 months ago

my BB got me 22pts this week and could of been 27 only for holgate to get withdrawn at HT.
So TC sanchez would only have gotten me 5 extra points
used TC in 36 so sanchez got me 14 and BB would have gotten me 12
so overall happy i used BB this week

    6. Pasqualinho
      • 16 Years
      8 years, 7 months ago

Again, I'd say that was subjective. For Sanchez TCers in this gameweek, sure - but not everyone did this. There are plenty of Costa TCers this week too - and I believe their bench boosts were better.

It's 11 points difference so far between TC Sanchez and my BB this week, wouldn't say that's destroyed. Stephens potentially to come as well.

I still think tc has far more potential to kill your opponent than bb does. Sanchez would have got you 54 pts more than someone who hadn't captned him this week if your tc. Bb mainly about getting cs! I managed to get 37 pts from bench boost in gw34. Maguire Davies Sanchez and de gea. Freed me up for gw37!

if i had captained Aguero (instead of TC'd) and TC'd Sanchez (when I captained him) then the difference is 18pts. Got 16 pts so far on BB with 2 benched players to go so it's going to be about even at worse.
Obviously doesn't make an allowance for when I would have used BB earlier but my bench score when I TC'd Aguero was 12 pts.
Highest bench score was 31pts but that was the week I played my WC. Have had 8 scores over 15pts on bench but on 4 of those a player came on anyway for injury/rotation.

    9. Desperately Seeking Dusan
      • 14 Years

I just think the late DGW's make using a BB a risk given rotation where at least with TC, it's likely you have some teams still chasing various prizes and finishes and can pin point a potential big haul player. I think in future I will try and use a BB in an earlier DGW. Be interested to see it backtested.

Anyone else finding it extremely difficult to select your 11 this week?

I feel like every player has a good enough fixture to start but then they also all have a risk of being benched bar 2/3 players.

Currently my bench is Bertrand Gabbiadini and JWP all at home to Stoke.
But on the field are Kompany, Gibbs, 3xChelsea, 2xSpurs, Defoe and Cech & Sanchez. I feel like Kompany Gibbs, the 3 Chelsea, the 2 Spurs, the 3 Soton are all a risk

        1. Sánchez

I would bench Gibbs over Bertrand. Lets see how much Gabbi plays tonight. JWP over Defoe can also work

Who would you bench from above? Would you risk Gabbiadini? Or Bertrand? I'm considering benching Defoe for one but then my Gibbs/Kompany 2 makes the other also an option

If your BB worked great but sounds like you have a bench headache now.

I can't even justify using my FT

          Caballero
          Vert, Azpil, Monreal
          King, Erik, Sane, Sanchez

Well that would be bad luck. But I've been playing this game since before the war and my GW38 strategy, which has always stood me in good stead, is to get 15 good players and hope that 10 of them play.

FPL is about getting the right players at the right time they say. I have Sanchez most season so I could not complain.

I backed Kane at the wrong time, trusting with the armband in his two home games against Burnley and Hull. Enjoyed his Watford haul soon after but sold him before he even played that week, missing his HTs in the coming weeks. I got him before BOU game just in time for his haul but it is astonishing to learn that those two home games in which he blanked (HULL, BUR) are only times when I captained him this season.

Maybe I trusted Sanchez and Kun too much (ignoring some like Costa, Vardy and even Kane) and should learn to adapt to changes a new season brings.

    1. Pep says
      • 10 Years

I sold Kun early. It was a nice differential and allowed so many upgrades throughout the squad

You did a good thing. I had him most GWs. My most captained player according to stats but didn't have him for Boro game before which I bought Gabbiadini and c'ed him 🙁
That Kun - Negredo (DGW) - Gabbiadini moves were the worst I made this season probably.
