Today we officially launched our pre-season guide page for build-up to the new season.

You can now access this via the main menu at the top of the page on desktop and via the slide-in on mobile and tablet. The pre-season tab has temporarily replaced the team news item.

This pre-season guide is something we run and maintain every season, with the aim to give you a complete summary of each team’s progress throughout their summer friendlies.

We list all the currently published fixtures and, as matches are played, we will link both to the club’s official report and also to the relevant scout notes page providing details for that match. We will also supply at a glance goalscorers and, where possible, assists on the round-up page.

As the friendlies progress, we will collect the key Scout Notes for each team and sum up the form players, listing their statistics achieved.

During this time, we will also re-launch our Scout Notes articles which provide summaries of the previous day’s friendly matches, including our take on the tactics employed and the events that took place.

Watford put out a development squad for their encounter with Woking on Saturday, so, as it stands, the major friendly matches look set to start on Monday July 10, with Stoke City’s tour of Switzerland getting underway. Further fixtures follow on Wednesday and then ramp up next weekend.

Throughout these matches, we will record every minute played by every player in a bid to round-up our coverage with a summary, not only of the best performers, but also those who saw the most action and are most likely to fit and firing for the opening fixtures.

The pre-season guide also acts as a hub for all our major summer articles. We collect all the Scout Reports, Moving Targets and team based articles for each club and list and link to them here.

So, if you missed an article or are pondering the potential of a new signing, check this section and, hopefully, we’ve got it covered for you.

If you are aware of any friendly match fixtures currently not listed, or would like to make a request for any other additions to our pre-season coverage, please drop us a line at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

He's a no from me. He won't be cheap as a united striker. That team is too defensive only world class players like ibra could score extensively under Mourinho's tactics.

Some of the guys here gave me some doubts about Lacazette. I'm not even going to think about my team right now.

I will watch pre season major games against big clubs extensively to avoid any Andre Gray situations and form an unbiased viewpoint of who should be in my team. No favourites for me.

I let hype for Pogba help contribute to my inconsistent results last season I won't be making the same mistakes again.

I completely ignore pre season form. It is meaningless regardless of the opposition. That's been shown every single season.
Useful for some insight into a managers tactical thinking.

It lets me know who tends to start for he first few weeks and if they start to misfire I can prepare to replace them.

    Have we cracked the code?

Our guess is game launch on Tues.

5 players a day, one from each team, alphabetically... 10 gone so far... 5 Fri, 5 yesterday, 5 today, 5 Monday...

Do people really care about when the game launches that badly? We have a timeframe and we know when EPL starts so we have olenty of time.

I personally could not care less if my ID is 1 or 1 million it makes no difference in the long run. It's the points we get and the decisions we make that will seperate the elite from the rest.

It's funny, i have the complete opposite perspective to you. I can't understand how someone CAN'T care about when the game launches, i'm like a kid waiting for christmas to get into the site, see all the prices, start building a squad & tinkering. As an FPL fan it's one of the most important milestones of the year. But to each their own i guess.

The low ID thing I really couldn't give a toss about. But seeing the prices / ending the speculation / starting the long tinkering process is the highlight of the season for me. All downhill from there 😉

A low ID number means nothing to me, but player prices will allow us to start building our squads, although the chances of our initial squads remaining intact until GW1 are slim.

I wasted far to much time on preseason plans that didn't come to fruition last summer, so it's price curiosity more than anything that keeps me coming back to this site at the moment. My serious planning won't start until late July at the earliest.

Sánchez 16/17 PL stats by position, starts only.

Centre forward: 19 games, 14 goals, 7 assists.
    Left Wing in a 3-4-3: 7 games, 6 goals, 1 assist.
    Left Wing in a 4-2-3-1: 10 games, 4 goals, 2 assists.

Does the arrival of Lacazette severely dampen his appeal?

Wow left wing with a back 4 reall hits his output... How did ozil's stats map across those games? And the fullbacks? I think ozil & bellerin could be sleeper picks this year if wenger keeps the back 3 going

      1. Get up ya bum
        • 16 Years

He's played left wing most of his career with a back four most of his career and his goal and assist record speaks for itself.
But yes it's no surprise he scores even more when he doesn't have someone taking up the goalscoring positions in front of him.
Dunno about stats but watching the games ozil thrived in it. It's like he has the freedom to ghost around without the responsibility of linking with midfield. Alexis looked much less comfortable.

Southampton only have 1 preseason game: am I reading that right?

I know people have lauded their new manager, but I actually think they will struggle out of the gate.

Yes, they have a great schedule, but I don't think they have enough quality to dispatch of their weak opponents early on.

Bertrand towards top of my wishlist... they should be solid at the back & he is good going forwards plus on some corners. He should be a very good value 5.5 pick. I'd say better value than most 6.0 mids. Same with PVA if he's 5.0. I'd prefer both of those as my 4th mid & third striker even.

When is hazard expected to be fit?

A lot of people expect Fabregas to automatically start but Willian may get preference over Fabregas. I recall Conte wanting to sell him I don't know if that's changed. His £7m pricing seems too good to be true I think something stinks

In the two games that hazard missed last season fabregas played only one - he scored 11 that match.

Certainly no guarantee fab will start.

I think haz absence will make Pedro and Willian more viable.

I disagree. Even though they both play wide Salah is a direct goal scoring forward while sane is a creative winger. Being a better player doesn't make him better for fpl.

I disagree, you're letting the manager's tactics influence your thoughts on the player.

Sané is as direct as Manè even but has more dribbling quality and is utilised by Pep in a different way.

I can only think FPL have priced Salah according to his Roma output.

I'm interested in Sané more than Salah in FPL terms.

Sure expected roles are part of it but Salah is a finisher. Sane is amazing and will be one of the best in the world but at this stage of his career he is not a big goal threat. The only reason it is as close as it is is because salahs ability to play his best in England is unknown. His ceiling is higher but his floor is lower

              Yep, could be, Champ.

I'm so excited by Sané so maybe that's clouding my judgement.

Must admit to being disappointed with Salah's highlights on YouTube, but I haven't see him in real life.

I wonder if the guys in fpl towers play fpl and are they allowed to play because of conflict of interest issues?

If they do they would have a unfair advantage in getting a low fpl i.d. for a start 😉

Fpl ID the number in the address bar in gameweek history right? I thought that doesn't change. Even if it did, what advantage is there to having a low one?

Sane 8.5m is wonderful. Could be the Man C option with Kane Lukaku up front.

Agreed. Assume Bernardo silva might be priced around the same, but I think he played confederations cup so might not have much of a preseason

Ozil and Ramsey are on the radar big time i think they will do a lot better under new system and with the new acquisitions.

Salah in the Serie A 2016/17: 15 goals and 11 assists in 2487 mins.

Sane in the Bundesliga 2015/16: 8 goals and 6 assists in 2313 mins.

Sane in the PL 2016/17: 5 goals and 3 assists in 1788 mins.

Don't get the outrage as to why Sane is priced lower than Salah personally.

      Similar:

      4.5 GK/4.0

      Valencia, Cedric, 3x4.5

Sane, Ozil, Pedro, poss start with Fabregas, 5.5

      Kane Benteke Defoe

      keep spare change
