Swansea City are the next side to be assessed as part of our in-depth team-by-team analysis series for members.

We start by checking in on the team statistics in an attempt to spot trends or improvements over the past 12 months before we shift to analyse player data, as we attempt to narrow the field ahead of the new campaign.

Having been ensconced in the security of mid-table in 2015/16 – claiming 47 points to finish in twelfth position – the Swans were left floundering last season. With just three wins in the opening 19 Gameweeks of 2016/17, the Welsh outfit looked doomed at the midway point until the arrival of Paul Clement.

Appointed as successor to Francesco Guidolin, the new manager chalked up four victories in his first six fixtures to steer his side out of the drop zone. Swansea ultimately clinched fifteenth spot on 41 points – seven clear of relegation, scoring 45 goals.

Anyone fancying City attack double up??
It could be pretty amazing based on their preseason form.
Yes rotation might occur, but Jesus and KDB look pretty nailed on.
Jesus in would mean Kane out for me (Lukaku second st), but I guess Jesus will match Kane in terms of points at the start till the WC, and just go for Alli or Eriksen as the Spurs cover.

    Thoughts?

It's an option, Jesus couldn't finish so far in pre season which is a worry but then again it's only pre season.

      (Same logic applies to Kane)

But if you look at it the other way, he's been getting great goal scoring opportunities, that too against good defences.
Surely he's gonna put them in now, he's not that bad 😛

Definitely viable in a vacuum, but would not ditch Kane for Jesus.
Having Kane as a captian option is fairly valuable to me. Not a ton of 100% nailed strikers for good teams, with penalty + some FKs duties, that does not get subbed early.

I fancy doubling up on the defenders. Currently have Danilo and Kompany. If I can come up with 0,6m I will upgrade to Walker.

I don't concern myself with fees and don't see why anyone else does the current market is crazy and will only get crazier.. i concern myself more with the needs of my team and the big man ticks all boxes.. wouldn't have been my first choice either but Jose knows him well and vice versa and that's more than good enough for me

Solanke isn't going to play. Relying on Loftus Cheek is very brave considering he isn't nailed on to play every game. I think you should downgrade one of Sanchez, Kane or Lukaku and spread around the cash.

Keeping 0.5 ITB,unless you really need the funds for an upgrade, could be very beneficial for being flexible and hopping on bandwagons without a -4

Starting with a good price balance through the defenders, midfielders and forwards, you should be able to sub without a -4 as well.

    So...

Surely all this does is reduce Mata's minutes? Can't see him being dropped completely though even given his history with Mourinho, I reckon we'll see Pogba play a bit of both. Which I think is kinda stupid anyways but I'll leave that topic for another day.

Pretty settled with this draft after the announcement of Matic.

    Forster
    Kolasinac - Trippier - Yoshida - Dawson
    Kdb - Pogba - Willian - Zaha
    Kane - Lukaku

    Elliot - Carroll - Suttner - 4.5

Pogba at 8.0 is not a "bargain"

8.0 can get you better FPL prospects eg Pedro or Zaha for 1.0m less

Lallana at 7.5 and Ramsey at 7.0 > Pogba at 8.0

Your first statement is fine.. i wouldn't call him a bargain at all but i think he can deliver 150 plus this season which is a very decent return for that price

Lallana will be subject of a lot of rotation this season and Ramsey found the net once last year so that statement is not so fine

Fair enough, I just don't think Pogba is the best option in that mid-priced bracket

I don't think anyone is claiming he is mate but rather fancy a punt on him with Uniteds early fixtures and that he looks good to seriously improve..

He's been scoring in pre season, see no reason why he shouldn't start in the absence of Llorente. 🙂

T.Abraham very tempting as a third striker now. He's been sharp in pre-season apparently and it frees up funds to strengthen elsewhere.

Can't see Aguero being benched much this season tbh. Even when City had Balotelli Teves Dzeko and Aguero. Aguero still got heaps of minutes.

I think he will still be on pens to start with too

WIth CL and the amount of options City have, I think Pep is going to rotate heavily.

when Iheanacho leaves Aguero and Jesus will be the only two strikers and Pep said he's playing them together sooo...

depends on what "much" is to you, personally I would have a nailed on striker for that price which sadly aguero isn't

Yeah but Aguero is the best striker in the league and I need good city coverage. Jesus is good but Aguero is great

Not got the exact quote to hand but Pep has basically said that every will be rotated and everyone will play. Rotation is the risk you face with any City asset. It's not going to stop me putting KDB in though so don't see why it should stop those keen on Agüero getting him in.
