Next up in our summer series of members’ articles, we move to focus on one of the key sources of Fantasy talent – Tottenham Hotspur.

We start by analysing their performance on a team level, assessing last season’s data in order to spot trends and areas improvement. Following that, we drill down into the player data, pinpointing the key individuals.

For this article, we also focus on two specific points of interest for Fantasy managers – assessing the Dele Alli versus Christian Eriksen conundrum, while weighing up the allure of Harry Kane as a “fire and forget” captaincy option.

It’s fair to say that Mauricio Pochettino’s side showed their mettle last season after a disastrous end to 2015/16 saw them pick up two points in the final four fixtures and tumble out of the title race.

Spurs improved their points haul from 70 to 86 and also scored far more goals than beforehand – a total of 86 was far superior to 69 in the previous campaign and more than any team in the top-flight.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Best Coutinho replacement? 9 is my budget but if I must I could downgrade Kola to a 5.5 for a 9.5 mid.

    Team is
    Foster
    Kola - Trippier - Daniels - Cedric
    KDB - (9.0) - Willian - Zaha
    Kane - Lukaku

    Myhill - Goldson - Carrol - McBurnie

    Help please guys (and gals):
    A) Jesus, Ritchie, Ince, Rangel
    B) Chicharito, Pogba, Tadic, Cedric

Swaying bach & forth between them... pros & cons for both. Rangel won't play and is a 4.0 bench-warmer. Cedric might not be match fit for GW1. Pogba could well get more returns than last season in a more advanced role after Matic's arrival, but could be a gamble. Tadic is in due to fixtures, and again a gamble. Chicharito could pay off if he hits the ground running, but who knows.

Basically, i feel i need Jesus in my team, and afraid to start the season without him - but at what cost?!

    Rest of team:
    Foster, Elliot
    Trippier, Dawson, Pied, Dunk
    De Bruyne, Fabregas, Carroll
    Lukaku, Kane

    1. Birds of Prey
      • 12 Years

Rangel will drop to 3.9 after GW2 cuz of owner%+ no PT.
Yur doubled on WB in back Dawson> 5.0
      rotate 2 better 4.5s Pied won't play NEW/LEI CP/ STK ...
I love Chicharito but not until GW 7 4/5 away then at Home w/Spurs. GL

Is Phil Jones too big a gamble?

Coming off pre-season and with the European suspensions it looks like Smalling and Lindelof will play together in the Super Cup game and the first group stage game. Does this pave the way for a Bailly Jones partnership in the league for the first few until Lindelof has settled? Mourinho took a while to introduce Mkhitaryan into the first team last year.

          bara turning couts head
if hes gone before gw1 youll need to rethink
if he going but its not sorted before gw1 he might not play or less motivated for pool
if he wants to go and the move falls through who knows what he'll play like
so really youre banking on him being a devoted liverpool player... which seems the most unlikely option

Nothing wrong with the Chicharito pick, proven goalscorer and could hit the ground running. He's as much of a 'punt' as any other 3rd striker option.

    Morning all, how's this looking?

Defence too light? Also don't know if Pied, Mitrovic are nailed...

    Foster
    Walker - Pied - Dann
    Sterling - Pogba - Eriksen - Mane - Zaha
    Lukaku(C) - Firmino

    Elliot - Mitrovic - Lowton - Hunemeier

Mind you I'd only play Mitrovic if he had a dream match up and had been starting. Will go 3-5-2 most weeks with this lineup n

Pied is not a certain starter, Cedric can start too. Sterling is a high doubt too. I am not sure about pogba influence either. What about you go with Arnold (Liverpool) or Clarke (Newcastle) instead of pied. Willian + salah (9+7)= sterling + pogba (8+8)

Pied-Yoshida safer. Would do Sterling-Pedro/Willian or downgrade Zaha to Fraser and Mane-Salah/Coutinho and upgrade Sterling to KDB. Good to see someone agreeing on Firmino with me.

I posted this last year but it bears repeating.

    http://goalscorerchallenge.co.uk/

Goalscorer Challenge is a nifty little fantasy game I play, but it's pretty small fry.

You pick a player each week, if they score, you get a point, if they score two, two points etc.

You can only pick each player once all season.

International breaks and FA cup weekends also count, so that's good for FPL addicts like us!

Nice. Any suggestions for a good GW1 pick?

    RMT

    Foster (Elliot)
    Kolasinac Trippler Bertrand (Suttner, Mason)
    KDB Salah Wilian Milivojevic (Carroll)
    Kane Kaku Austin

    Is Milivojevic good enough punt?
Kolasianc or maybe switch to Bailly?

I like Kola, but would be concerned without any utd cover at the back. Mili as you say is a punt, not for me.
