Our series of summer members’ articles continues this afternoon as we assess what’s on offer at the managerial merry-go-round that is Watford.

To begin with, we analyse the Hornets’ performances on a team level, checking out last season’s data in order to spot trends and areas of improvement. Following that, we take a look at the players to pinpoint their key individuals.

For this article, we also focus on new manager Marco Silva’s impact on his former club Hull City after an impressive stint at the KCOM Stadidum during the second half of 2016/17.

Watford parted company with Quique Sanchez Flores at the end of 2015/16, scoring 40 times on their way to finishing in thirteenth spot on 45 points.

Yet the now-departed Walter Mazzarri failed to improve upon those performances in his only season at the helm. The Vicarage Road outfit scored the same number of goals but picked up just 40 points, ending the campaign in seventeenth position.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Any thoughts/improvements on the above?

OK I am just going to say it....

Is Moreno worth a shout at 4.5m?

    Klopp's quotes:

"This pre-season has brought us new players. Alberto Moreno is 100 per cent back which is really nice after a difficult year.

"Andy Robertson has shown all the skills he's got. He's still adapting to our kind of football but you can see what a threat he can be offensively.

"That means that Millie (James Milner) is free to play in midfield. Without going into the transfer market we have a new midfield player, which is nice."

He isn't a nailed option, but Trent Alexander-Arnold is in a few teams and he is waiting to be dropped for Clyne, whereas Moreno could secure the LB spot if his form continues. He is undoubtedly an attacking threat and with the BPS system favouring attacking full backs. Robertson needs time to adapt and Milner isn't being considered for the left back position, so surely Moreno is a viable gamble?

He's currently in my squad, just as a punt. Nice gamble to take at 4.5 when he will be sharing the bench with Suttner.

      If he stays, brilliant.
If he goes, hopefully it's within the league to get a starting spot.

Hey guys - after previewing midfielders in the 7.0 and 5.5 price ranges, here's our look at what's on offer at 4.5. We were pushing Carroll hard last week, and his performance over the weekend has only seen him rise in our estimation: http://whogottheassist.com/4-5-midfielders/

Decided that I will go with 4/4/2, trying to maximize the wing-back/very attacking defenders.

    Forster (Elliott)
    Valencia, Kolasinac, Alonso, Stephens, (Mee)
    Zaha, KdB, Salah, Ritchie (Carroll)
    Kane, Firmino, (Quaner)

So in a way, I'm having two or three 'mids' but with the benefit of clean sheets as well + cheaper than other prime mid choices.

Any comment or an area of improvement?

Lack of Utd attack with their starting fixtures could cause you issues initially. Midfield seems reasonably solid and defence looks good. Could maybe get Daniels instead of Stephens to avoid Saints double up and profit from Daniels potential attacking returns

      Because of price mainly

Lukaku - moved to United, 3 points behind him last year. Expect him to be right up there this year.
Aguero - we all know what he's capable of
Jesus - Expect him to do well
Lacazette - unproven but has pedigree

There are so many cheaper options that could compete with Kane this year.

I've been really unhappy with my recent drafts and just a short while ago I identified the cause as a power front 3. I couldn't bring myself to lose Kane - or Kaku, but by sacrificing Jesus, the 5m has allowed me to completely transform my defence - all 5 players. Looking well solid now.

Is even with Siggy there. However I'll doubtless leave him on my bench so that he can Capoue me week after week.

ARS are notoriously slow starters so I will avoid, Chelsea aren't.

but then ARS beat CHE yesterday ......................

Is Kolasinac a legitimately good pick, or is the hype just down to the Community Shield goal?

The hype was present long before yesterday.

Was hyped before that, so should be a good pick

Nothing to do with the goal for me - he looks a damn fine prospect.

Not sure if this was shared yesterday (I missed it anyway)

But Wenger said the only reason Kolasinac didn't start was because "of the occasion", so should start GW1...

Best Defender to have for 6.0?
Have DDG, Daniels and Cedric for defensive cover.

Do people really think Kolasinac will outscore Bellerin?

Purely because of greater security of starts

I always believe CB will get more bonus than side def

He played CB. Anyway the guy's a beast - he'll get plenty blocks and tackles in.
