Our series of summer members’ articles continues this afternoon as we assess what’s on offer at the managerial merry-go-round that is Watford.

To begin with, we analyse the Hornets’ performances on a team level, checking out last season’s data in order to spot trends and areas of improvement. Following that, we take a look at the players to pinpoint their key individuals.

For this article, we also focus on new manager Marco Silva’s impact on his former club Hull City after an impressive stint at the KCOM Stadidum during the second half of 2016/17.

Watford parted company with Quique Sanchez Flores at the end of 2015/16, scoring 40 times on their way to finishing in thirteenth spot on 45 points.

Yet the now-departed Walter Mazzarri failed to improve upon those performances in his only season at the helm. The Vicarage Road outfit scored the same number of goals but picked up just 40 points, ending the campaign in seventeenth position.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Trying really, REALLY hard not to lose Alonso from my team, but that extra £0.5 could really help elsewhere...

    Fixtures aren't a problem, as far as I'm concerned he's fixture-proof but...

Maybe, but great fixtures boosts the stock of other players ie. Valencia. Can't see Alonso outscoring him over the first few

NO NO NO! He stays lol
Worked hard enough to get him into a half decent team so gonna leave him in, stop tinkering and wait and see. If the worse comes to the worse, can always bring Valencia or Walker in and drop having any Chelski cover...

        Tell me about it LMAO!

Leaning towards just leaving him in, it's hard to give you all the full picture without showing you the full squad, but I'm not brave enough to publish my team just yet lol

I'm leaving him in, too risky going without.

You have to remember, at 7.0m he offers ultimate flexibility if you want to switch/ downgrade to another premium option - that's key to why I'm leaving him in. Flexibility is the one thing you need at the start of the season.

That's the key for me too, the flexibility and you just know he'll score points in that first fixture with just a clean sheet alone...

No idea what this voting malarkey is but you my sir may have a +1 lol

              Amen brother.

This is why I also have KDB - with flexibility of downgrading to any other midfield option (bar Sanchez)
And Kane also for the same reasons.

Not to mention they are all beasts!

              Anyway, best of luck bud.

Small question mark over Lindelof starting. Trippier picked up an injury so not sure if he'll be fit for GW1 so monitor that situation before the deadline.

Apart from that it;s fairly template and i like it.
