The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Will Burnley keep strong at home without Keane?

Having Mee atm for 4th and back up def, maybe can rotate with Carroll as well.

    Thx you.

sounds good enough to me, thanks Coaly

can't see many other options in that price bracket anyway other than Yoshi/stephens, and would really rather have Cedric for attacking potential - plan to have 2 x SOU def for first 11 x gw due to nice fixtures, worth the gamble I feel, will swap out if SOU appear terrible, but still assist potential from bertie and cedric anyway

          Yeah fixtures are strong

yeah it's a perfect storm in terms of fixtures, worth the roll of the dice, 14 clean sheets last season, only a couple less than the likes of spurs/che etc, for the value and the stats it's a no brainer imo, until fixtures turn or results show us otherwise at least

Wasn't going to enter a team this year again but put something together in the last half hour and would like your thoughts..

    De Gea (Eliot)

    Hegazi Stephens Alonso (suttner Lowe)

    Alli Salah Zaha Phillips (Carroll)

    Lukaku Jesus Gabbiaidi

U had something to do with Liverpool team sheets didn't u. Yoshida over Stephens I think. Personally I don't trust liverpools fixture congestion. Fab over Zaha initially I think

      Hi DS,
Pretty sound team, only ob would be Alonso at this stage - just feel the funds if moved to a 5.5m defender may be useful but as I say, a sound 15.

I might be missing something here but is the whole spurs at wembley thing getting blown out of proprtion? Surely they've adjusted the pitch measurements to match WHL?

Think they might need a few games to adjust properly but Spurs are usually awesome away from home anyways so it shouldn't be too much of a problem for them.

What is the latest template looking like? Is it something like this...or am I way off?
    Foster/Forster Elliot
    Daniels Cedric Kolasinac 4.5 4.0
    Salah/Mane Alli/Eriksen Willian Zaha Carroll
    Kane/Kaku Jesus 3rd Striker

Yes the template is to get in defence from the team that had the least clean sheets last season excepting Hull, & their defence starts even weaker than last season.
