The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

    6.0 to spend but I would prefer a 5.5 defender. Have Salah and Fraser in midfield so could need the 0.5 for upgrades after GW1.
    Not keen on Kolasinac don't like stk, liv, BOU, che from GW2 onwards.

    B) Bailly (only 6.0 I consider because of MUN fixtures)
    C) van Aanholt ( = Dann out for Ake)
    D) Bertrand ( = maybe Stephens out for Ake)

    C+D = Ake has to play v Man.City in GW3.

    Alright, so my final decision has come down to defense. I'm happy with my team elsewhere, and I found that I'm left with an extravagant budget for my 3 starting defenders: 18.5.

    A. Valencia, Kolasinac, Kompany
    B. Valencia, Alonso, Yoshida
    C. Something cheaper and leave money ITB

    Please don't suggest I reinvest the money elsewhere, I've already decided that this 18.5 goes into defense or is left ITB.
