The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

    Advice on 4m defenders who will play? And where do I spend my 2.5m?! Ideally to improve the defence/attack (not Kane).

    Could do Chica > Tammy, Zaha > KDB

        Obliged. I would have had no hesitation pulling the trigger on either one individually, as I think both have potential to punch above weight at the price point, but fielding them together has me a little nervous. Swapping one for a 7M-8M midfielder would mean dropping Firmino for a sub-7M striker, though, and I don't see a cheapie striker/upgraded midfield pair that clearly beats Firmino and Ritchie/JWP at this stage.

      I think all you have budget for with those pics would be three 4M defenders, none of whom will play.
      The pics you have are solid with the exception of Pogba. Great player; not a great fantasy asset. Would take Mkhi or Pedro over Pogba at the 8M price point. But, you should swap Pog for Willian and free up 1M to split on 2 rotating 4.5M defenders or splash 5M on Cedric or Stephens and start with two 4M blanks on your backline bench.
