The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

    Okay, really important question guys, Clyne appears unlikely to start gameweek 1. Who is his immediate replacement? I only have three playing defenders and 1 of them is 4.5. Risky I know but it sets up the midfield and attack I wanted. I really want a pool defender for watford.

      That will be Trent Alexander Arnold or Moreno. TAA is guaranteed to play first couple of weeks. Moreno is less guaranteed, but if he plays then he should keep his spot for longer.

      Fabregas should be guaranteed, lindelof won't start initially and will ease into the team, Mkhtariyan will start initially and may get benched later.

    I am not sure I buy into all this high ownership stuff. So what if Lukaku fires and your main striker doesn't. The exact opposite could happen the following week.

    If you believe in your squad, sit tight. Don't knee-jerk out Jesus for a hit just because he didn't perform away at Watford. And if you really believe you can make a stronger squad by not investing in Kane or Lukaku, then go for it.
