The final countdown has begun with the new season kick-off now less than 24-hours away.

Earlier the week the ScoutCast grew gathered as the clock ticked down, with Jonty, Andy and Luke joining myself to tackle a raft of perfectly targeted questions from you – the community.

Each of us take turns to reveal our current line-ups, while the collection of queries allowed us to put each of the four positions under the microscope. On occasions, we even broke from the ScoutCast tradition to provide some definitive answers.

Pre-season gremlins struck as I dropped out in full flow on Paul Pogba, but I managed to return to steer the ship towards its final destination – the first weekend preview of the new campaign.

It’s good to be back.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    A different crowd.

Pick one please (as a Trippier placeholder):

    (A) Danilo/ Stones

    or

    (B) Bertrand (would mean SOT defensive double-up)

    Foster (Elliot)
    Bertrand Yoshida Daniels (Suttner Mee)
    Salah Mhki Zaha KDB Carroll
    Lukaku (C) Kane (McBurnie)

Would you guys say it's G2G?

Could go a 4.0 defender to improve but as I'm going 2 strikers, I want as many starters as possible, and these defenders rotate reasonably well. Not 100% sure about 2 Man Utd attackers but Mhki's pre season has been very good.

Could go Mhki > Ritchie and use 2m on the defence/get DDG. Or Mhki > Willian?

I want to go with Lukaku & Kane as it's risky without either and easier to downgrade then upgrade them

With that midfield, I'd expect you to have Gabbi-less attack. Which means: downgrade KDB and upgrade either Gabbi or one midfielder. Iwobi/RLC/Carroll are not nailed on, you cannot count on 2 of them playing. This team is 4-3-3 very soon. And it works as that because your bench defenders will play, but if I played 4-3-3, I'd probably want three really big hitters upfront.
