Saturday’s events end on the south coast as Brighton make their Premier League debut and bid to follow the example set by Huddersfield Town following their victory at Palace.

But the Seagulls face a daunting task, with Premier League favourites Manchester City the visitors to the Amex Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s men are bristling with prime Fantasy talent with Kevin De Bruyne owned by 31.6% of FPL managers in midfield, while both Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero – owned by 13.4 and 11.4% respectively – start up front for City.

That trio are the first big captain assets in action today, with Aguero backed by 5.9% of managers with the armband, while De Bruyne is the skipper for 4.7% of managers and Jesus 4.3%.

In contrast, Brighton are something of a non-event from a Fantasy perspective. Their most popular assets – Uwe Hünemeier and Liam Rosenior are both owned as 4.0 enablers, while Anthony Knockeart – present in 2.3% of squads – joins them on the bench following a recent injury.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Mooy could be a gem. I think Huddersfield has been underrated and they could prove to be much greater than the sum of its parts

Monitor Atsu tomorrow. If he's any good, meybe better get him and bank 0.5 for future.

If not, then punt on Mooy maybe?

I brought him in for money in the bank. A week or two. Whether he continues to assist all his attack minded team mates is irrelevant, though most likely. Don't listen to the 'experts'. 2 years ago they were laughing at people bringing Mahrez in after he scored in GW1.

To anyone owning the italian, Gabbiadini to Mounie could be a good move. Three home fixtures in the next four for the french, will play ninety minutes or so in each game, has form and confidence and you'd bank 1.0m doing that move. But on the other hand Gabbiadini still has excellent fixtures and will get the shots, the last thing you want is jump from one 3rd striker to another and always miss the points. The fact that Gabby was subbed off that early in the game is a concern though. You don't want any of your striker or attacking players to miss 20+ mins per game. I don't want this season to be like the past season, always struggling with my 3rd striker, always jumping too soon or jumping too late on bandwagons. So I may hold on for the moment and wait a few gameweeks to get a better view on which one of the budget strikers can be the real deal (or which one of the budget midfielders and then go for a more expensive 3rd striker). This player could easily be Gabbiadini so no need to panic I guess. Other owners around here to bring new points of view ?

Don't drop Gabbi. Tons of chances, great fixtures, and Austin didn't exactly impress either.

He had his chances fine, even hit the bar in the first half. But didn't really like his position on the field and the more disappointing fact was his early replacement. Won't drop him but he's my main concern on my team right now.

Hey Doosra, you do a lot with stats, right? Do you have any explanation for Southampton's scoring woes? The data I look at screams that Southampton attack is a good idea, but for some reason they just convert on their shots.

Sell Taa for hegazi ? Or keep him

Probably go Burnley given their home games coming up, get rid of Taa though now or you won't be able to

Sound move imo. TAA has a very limited run in the team and LIV look to have shocking CS potential

Fab to Ramsey now - or sit it out for a few days?

Can't be losing 0.1 or 0.2 and being unable to do it...

Those who watched CP vs Huddersfield:

How did Zaha look? Would you back him to show his FPL value against Spurs? Unfortunately all the kneejerkers means there's a big risk of him dropping in value, which is annoying given the array of good options at his pricepoint

      He's playing Pool next

        Yeah I knew that XD
For some reason I typed in Spurs though.
Probably because of also contemplating the Spurs/Chelsea game

Dont listen to the kneejerkers. Zaha is a proven FPL player. Its only one game. And he looked okay.

Why don't people just hang on to players who drop in value?

Because at this stage of season 0.1 drop is equivalent to 0.5 as you can't afford other players in same bracket (assuming no money in bank)...

This. The main attraction for me is the availability of Wijnaldum at the same price. If Zaha drops in price and continues to disappoint, I won't be able to replace him with Wijnaldum

Gini was shit today, he tends to disappear in games where coutinho is missing.

Hundreds of thousands of extra players compared to last season ... Do we think the price change algorithm has been tweaked to slow down the price rises?

There was a lot of criticism of it last year.

Surely they have to tweak the algorithm or whatever a bit. Last season was crazy.

Could be an argument that 2 of Mane, Salah or Firmino is needed..

True! Tried for Salah, Firmino but couldn't quite stretch so have Mkhitaryan instead

He was lively enough I am happy enough with him on set pieces.
He was a 5.5m midfield educated risk for me based on fixtures and set pieces pre-season form.
I knew that the saints struggled for goals but if they do score it is normally him or redmond that is involved in it.

Looks like there's no major bandwagon till now.

Still remember the Michu wagon on the first day of THAT season. 😀

So the plan was Aguero, Jesus and Mounie with the City fail to go, but I reckon sticking will be ok for at least one more week as Jesus to Kane or Lukaku would cost a hit anyway. Jesus did ok today
