Michail Antonio is available for West Ham’s trip to Southampton. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is expected to be fit for the home clash against Crystal Palace but West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans is a major doubt for an away day at Burnley.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home encounter with Manchester United, though forward Fernando Llorente remains out as he continues to build up his fitness levels after breaking his arm.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed that Jermain Defoe is in contention to start against Watford, after the forward came off the bench in the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion. A late decision will be made on Simon Francis (hamstring).

Daryl Janmaat, Younes Kaboul and Roberto Pereyra will all miss the trip to Bournemouth after suffering low-grade muscle injuries in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool. Troy Deeney has returned to full training following a groin injury though, while Christian Kabasele (hamstring) and Brice Dja Djédjé (fractured finger) resumed training in the middle of the week and may be available.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Jonny Evans (hamstring) looks set to miss West Brom’s trip to Turf Moor, while Gareth McAuley (thigh) and James Morrison (knee) remain sidelined.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton will be without Izzy Brown for the trip to Leicester City, after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that Daniel Sturridge is expected to be fit for the visit of Crystal Palace to Anfield, but Philippe Coutinho and Nathaniel Clyne both remain out due to back injuries.

Mauricio Pellegrino has a fully fit squad to choose from for Southampton’s home clash against West Ham United, with Ryan Bertrand recovering from a minor knock picked up during the goalless draw with Swansea City.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will have Michail Antonio available for the trip to Southampton following a hamstring problem, but Manuel Lanzini (knee) will return to training on Monday.

Mark Hughes has confirmed that new signings Bruno Martins Indi, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Jese Rodriguez will all feature in the matchday squad at home to Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger welcomes back Per Mertesacker for the trip to Stoke following a facial injury, while the Arsenal boss also revealed that Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin will be in the squad. Tomorrow’s match is expected to come too soon for Alexis Sanchez (abdominal injury), though.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman revealed club-record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson will undergo tests over the weekend to assess whether he is ready to feature in Monday night’s trip to Manchester City. Sandro Ramirez (heel injury) is a slight doubt after missing last night’s 2-0 win over Hadjuk Split.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

He's a good differential for sure. Prefer him to Mooy I think (although Huddersfield have nicer fixtures coming up). I went boring and did a hit for Mkhi. Ramsey wouldve been my choice if Mkhi wasn't so tempting, but Knockaeart an intriguing differential.

    Bottomed and old-posted:

Following the hot topic saying that WBA defenders are essential this week because Burnley conceded the most attempts from set plays in the league last year, I decided to do some research of my own (crazy!).

The members area confirms that they conceded the most attempts from set plays (aside from Sunderland), but they also conceded the most attempts (after Sunderland) full stop, and were only ranked 7th for headers conceded.

Unfortunately, you can't seem to tabulate % chances conceded from set plays, or % chances conceded as headers, so I've had to calculate things myself.

For % of chances conceded from set plays:
Top 3 are: LIV, EVE, SOT
Bottom 3 are: WHU, WBA, SWA
    Burnley are 13th

For % of chances conceded as headers:
Top 3 are: ARS, LIV, EVE
Bottom 3 are: WAT, WBA, BUR (!)

So whilst Burnley do concede a lot of chances from free kicks, and a fair few from headers, its not because they're particularly vulnerable to these situations; its because they're sh*t at defending.

Still sounds good for the West Brom defenders then.

      • 16 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

Really interesting topic this is, good job contextualising! 🙂 Still, makes you want your WBA defender playing?

Now my -4 of Zaha to Atsu looks a bit daft, considering playing Hegazi instead.

Benched him last week (Autosubbed on lol), can I get away with it two weeks in a row?

      1. Bedknobs and Boomsticks
        • 17 Years
        9 years, 1 month ago

If only I'd bought Lowton instead of Bailly so that I would have played Hegazi instead of benching him, used 1.0 to upgrade Foster to DDG and put the spare 0.5 in the bank instead of using it to do an unnecessary upgrade somewhere else; I would have hit the 100 pt mark last week.

        So damn close! 😀

        1. greghammer95
          • 16 Years
          9 years, 1 month ago

You know what, that sounds complex but it was probably a 50/50 each way!! Unlucky?! 😀

I chose Mitrovic over Vokes and got Hegazi come in for Mitro, it was just so sweet cheering on 3 subs that weren't Mitrovic for Newcastle, 2 point difference....

          1. Bedknobs and Boomsticks
            • 17 Years
            9 years, 1 month ago

But those 2 pts tasted sweet. Obviously the 4 pt hit to get rid of Mitro will be less sweet, but still!

Oh, and i need to have picked Willian instead of Fab.......

    3. TheOx95
      • 12 Years
      9 years, 1 month ago

I think that's a bit skewed as Burnley give away a lot of half chances such as shots outside the box but very few clear cut chances. Those that are more clear cut, seem to be through set pieces.

Don't be hasty, but there's worse ideas if he's your third striker, this one depends on the rest of your team really and if any fixing needs to be done.

      Not comparable options IMO.

Carroll is a good 5th mid, not much else.

Tammy isn't a great 3rd Striker, Vokes & Mounie better options or even Gray or other 6m forwards.

I also reckon his place is at risk when Llorente is back.

Which to play though if you have both, Tammy.

Tough, between Atsu & Dann. I'd be tempted to go for Dann, always like a goalscoring defender and as proven, Liverpool can't defend set pieces.

Atsu, no doubt. Liverpool will score at least 2 against Palace so it's only attacking returns you're looking at for Dann...as bad as Liverpool are at defending set pieces, I'd take an attacking midfielder over a defender scoring from a corner every day.

Hi Lads, i'm new to this whole thing. Think I got a little lucky in week 1.

Need advice on what I should do this week.

0 in the bank. 1 transfer (like everyone)

    STARTING:
    Foster
    Cedric - Danilo - Bertrand
De Bruyne - Willian - Mkhitaryan - Ward Prowse
    Firmino - Kane - Lukaku

    BENCH:
Elliot - Loftus Cheek - Rangel - Long

Your defence is vulnerable to non-starters. You need to get in playing bench players when your others don't play.

Not saying to do it this week, but you need to consider it in coming weeks.

      Save ft this week.

Sorry for the repost but just wanted another opinion.

    Play
    A Mee
    B Hegazi?

50/50, flip a coin. Hegazi for me, just.

Thanks all, leaning towards Mee, BUR confidence is roof top, probably both will concede and it won't matter anyway. 😉

Alas, one hit taken to bring in Atsu and Pog - how am I looking:

    Forster
    Yoshida, Daniels, Danilo
    KDB, Willian, Atsu, Pogba
    Lukaku(c), Firminio, Kane

    Elliot; Carrol, Long, Dunk

    Thanks!

      Looking like you're on -4.

Decent team, who is your VC.

so Utd is the early game - but are we still expecting Man Utd to thrash Swansea?

my C is currently on Kane - stats are good, first home game, chelsea there for the taking
But then Lukaku against Swansea could easily get a hattie

Without any actual analysis to prove or disprove the theory, I'd have to say the time of the game has little to no affect, some fantasy geek out there should read this and do some!!

For me it's Lukaku as he's got the "form", allbeit one game it's some sign of form, Kane missed a couple of chances he'd normally put away.

Chelsea hard done by with the early Red but still means an unfamiliar line up.

Play safe early on, Lukaku IMO.

Chelsea will not want to lose again, Swansea conceded a lot of chances against Southampton, Lukaku or Salah for me I think.

Lukaku's effective ownership is going to be terrifying, and whilst I like Pool's fixture, I have both Salah and Firmino, which gives me some inherent double coverage already.

      Lukaku for me.

Out of PVA, Lowe and Mooy, which 2 would you play?

    Rest of team;

    Foster
    Bertrand
    Kolasinac
    Alli
    KDB
    Salah
    Firmino
    Lukaku
    Abraham

    Currently got 2m ITB.

Thinking either downgrade 5.5 defender to a 5 and then upgrade JRod to Firmino.

    Or,

Upgrade cheap non playing defender to Kolisinac?

Effectively changing to four at the back instead of 343.

Danilo. If I end up keeping 5.5 defender he'll be going for Trippier anyway soon

Could some one please let me know if Bertrand was flagged? Reading he had a minor knock and was just wanting to make sure my phone wasn't hiding flags etc? Cheers

Hasn't been flagged at all, presumed fit. Don't worry IMO.
