Two Gameweeks down and already the dilemmas are building; the siren song of the Wildcard button is calling.

Failing big hitters are the major bone of contention as Jonty, Andy and Luke join me for the second ScoutCast of the season.

We give our verdicts on Spurs talisman Harry Kane, while also assessing the fall-out from Manchester City and, in particular, the shot-shy Kevin De Bruyne.

Driven by another round of community questions, we also chew over The Pogba vs Mkhitaryan debate and the big Bournemouth bail out, before previewing Gameweek 3.

Oh, and after his ten point return on the Aaron Mooy investment, we wrestle to prevent Jonty dropping his name into the conversation at every opportunity. I think I counted two. That’s a win for everyone involved.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is there a limit to how many transactions you can do in a draft league? I know you can make multiple requests, but can they all be successful?

City are still very attacking, and with Spurs nearly done with signing Aurier, Trippier might not be nailed. Especially with their CL group.

    WC team:

    Foster Elliot
Alonso Jones Trippier (if fit) Cedric Mbemba
    Mane Eriksen Mkhitaryan Carroll RLC
    Kane Lukaku Calvert-Lewin

Tempted to do Lukaku -> Aguero as City's fixtures look better but just concerend about Pep's rotation.

    What do you think?

I'm considering Lukaku > Aguero too. It just would surprise no-one if Pep goes 433 with Jesus up top and Aguero on the bench.

      1. JohnnyMagrinho
        8 years, 11 months ago

Think you've got more chance of Jesus being on the bench than Kun based on last couple of games. Aguero has been much further up front than Jesus who dropped deep quite a bit in both games and was eventually subbed at half time.

Looks like Pep is preferring Aguero now, even though he practically ousted him from the team end of last season for Jesus. I don't think even he knows what he's doing, which players he prefers and what system he'll stick with.

Bit of a shambles at the moment Man City, if you haven't got any City players I wouldn't be in a rush to bring ANY in until Pep has got his head screwed on.

Yep, this is my view of the Pep-world too. With such attacking talent and tactics, it would be perfect to have a reliable option to go to, but both Lukaku and Kane seem better options than Aguero at the moment.

I can see Bournemouth conceding 3 though. We just can't predict the scorers.

Is everyone on WC getting Kane? I feel like Alonso plus several upgrades on other positions outweighs his selection currently. Happy to have Lukaku as my solitary 'mega' captain.

I'm definitely getting Kane, apart from GW7 (home to Palace) there aren't many of the next few fixtures where Lukaku is a "must-captain"

Kane is essential for captaincy pick.. But if you have lukaku and lacazette/jesus to rotate the armband you could be fine. But from gw5 and onwards I would prefer kane over kaku

The impact for FPL will be felt with restricted mins (new positioning) for Lukaku and probably Mkhi.

I doubt many or any will be investing in Ibra but does this impact the others?

Pogba maybe safer over Mkhi now for example?

Had to downgrade Mkhi to Sterling to free up a few 0.1m.

I could Swap Trippier for a 5m, I suppose. Doesn't look too difficult to get Sanchez in our teams, though.

I've had him from the start. He's probably the one player I never take out as he's going to feed Mané and Salah, and in return will be teed up by those two.

    Start who?

Atsu(WHU h)- may get dropped/subbed off early, but does play as a winger and at home against a leading West Ham defense.

    Or

Caroll(CRY a)- Swansea look weak going forward, but Caroll is on all set peices and bound to be involed in a goal scored by them, but can they score that's the question.

Leaning towards a save this GW and then probably 3 transfers next.

    Some big decisions here.
Kolasinac, KDB, Firmino under pressure for necessary downgrading/upgrading in midfield especially.

    Thoughts?

    Elliot.
    Kolasinac, Jones, Yoshida.
    Willian, KDB, Ramsey, JWP.
    Kane(c), Lukaku (vc), Firmino.

    Begovic, Carroll, Mee, Dummett.
    Have 1ft, 0.0m.

Going with Lukaku just because he doesn't possibly have a curse that will prevent him from scoring this week. On paper they're exactly the same IMO.

So is Mkhitaryan still thought to be a rotation risk?

As long as they are in the champions league, even LUKAKU is in risk of rotation, I think mkhi will keep his place for now as he is in form but once/if his points start drying up, he could easily be dropped as there are so many options in the wings for Utd

One more time for opinions - what would you do with this team? It's the defence that concerns me most.

    Foster - Elliot
    Bellerin - Alexander-Arnold - Stephens - Hegazi - Rangel
    Eriksen - Salah - Mkhitaryan - Redmond - Loftus-Cheek
    Lukaku - Jesus - Benteke

More specifically, I'm concerned about Bellerin vs. Liverpool (and possible rotation risk with Koscielny back). Thinking of getting a Spurs defender in for him, but Arsenal do have kind fixtures after this week...

Please help me choose 8.0 mid, already have Eriksen, Mkhi (3 players on Utd)

    A. David Silva, still worth to choose?
    B. Willian + 0,9m, is he nailed?
    C. Others, please mention

    Thank you.

Don't forget Fabregas, he's back from his suspension. He'd probably score more than -1 points most weeks 😉

How much longer will Willian be starting and is he worth keeping once hazard is back? Or is richarlison possibly a better option?

If he stays healthy, it is hard to not see him among the top 7-8 scoring midfielders this season.

Serge Aurier underwent a medical with Tottenham Hotspur today in Paris ahead of a possible move, according to tomorrow's L'Équipe.

How are they going to get him to UK though?
