Alexis Sanchez is back for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool, with Laurent Koscielny also available again following suspension.

Manuel Lanzini is in contention to return for West Ham’s trip to Newcastle, but Xherdan Shaqiri is a doubt for Stoke City’s trip to West Brom due to a hamstring injury.

Here’s our summary of the team news so far ahead of Gameweek 3.

Arsene Wenger revealed Alexis Sanchez is available for Sunday’s trip to Liverpool, while Laurent Koscielny is back from suspension. However, Calum Chambers (groin) is a new injury doubt for Anfield.

Liverpool are again without Philippe Coutinho, while Jurgen Klopp will also need to check on Trent Alexander-Arnold, who suffered a dead leg in the midweek Champions League victory over Hoffenheim. The two-goal hero in that match – Emre Can – is also a doubt after suffering a knock, with Klopp optimistic of his chances of facing the Gunners.

Leon Britton is available for Swansea City’s trip to Crystal Palace after returning to training on Thursday following a back problem. Tomorrow’s match comes to soon for Fernando Llorente, who should return after the international break. Defender Kyle Bartley has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks with a knee ligament injury.

For the Eagles, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been ruled out due to a groin problem, while Wilfried Zaha is still unavailable.

Eddie Howe has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Bournemouth’s home meeting with Manchester City, although Simon Francis and Junior Stanislas remain sidelined. Jermain Defoe played 90 minutes in midweek and is in contention to make his first Premier League start for the Cherries.

David Wagner has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home meeting against Southampton. Latest signings Abdelhamid Sabiri and Florent Hadergjonaj are unlikely to be considered for starts.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino will decide today whether new signing Wesley Hoedt will feature for the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium. Mario Lemina is a slight doubt due to a shin injury.

Slaven Bilic will have Manuel Lanzini and Cheikhou Kouyate available for the trip to Newcastle United. Marko Arnautovic is suspended, while Winston Reid (calf) is also out. Andy Carroll has returned to training following a hip injury, but may have to wait until after the international break for a first-team return.

Watford trio Daryl Janmaat, Younes Kaboul and Roberto Pereyra remain out for the visit of Brighton & Hove Albion to Vicarage Road, while Jose Holebas misses out due to suspension. Craig Cathcart is nearing full fitness, and could feature for the Hornets.

Chris Hughton will again be without the injured Izzy Brown (hamstring) for the trip to Watford, but Glenn Murray is expected to shake off a minor ankle problem. Club-record signing Jose Izquierdo will be included in the match-day squad.

Wes Morgan, Jamie Vardy, Danny Drinkwater and Nampalys Mendy have all trained fully ahead of the trip to Manchester United, while Harry Maguire (knock) and Kelechi Iheanacho (toe) are being monitored. The pair should be available though, with Robert Huth and Vicente Iborra likely to be the only absentees.

Jonny Evans (hamstring) is expected to miss West Bromwich Albion’s home encounter against Stoke City, while James Morrison will be assessed after returning from injury in midweek. Claudio Yacob (hamstring) is a slight doubt, but Gareth McAuley (thigh) remains sidelined. Head coach Tony Pulis will assess the fitness of new signing Oliver Burke today to see whether the midfielder can play a part on Sunday.

For the Potters, Xherdan Shaqiri is Mark Hughes’ only injury concern. The Swiss international was forced off with a hamstring problem against Arsenal last weekend, with the Stoke boss admitting they won’t take any risks with the playmaker.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

This reminds me of some wonderfully posh gentleman that we're drinking in a hotel I was working in a few years back.
"Oh he's a little vile" one said.
"A little vile? Oh come come now Roger I would have hardly thought there are varying degrees of vile; vile is vile is it not?"
        "It is".
        "Quite"

        Brilliant.

          Haha, nice.

My personal point of reference is the Knowing Me Knowing You With Alan Partridge radio show where his guest is a precocious child who corrects Alan...

Alan: Well of course you, you are very unique.
Simon: One cannot have gradations of uniqueness, one either is or is not unique.
Alan: Right. You, you know, you're right, you're right. I mean, I mean you couldn't be more right.
Simon: Well, one is either right or not right.
Alan: Well, you are, you're right, um, and so am I.

I hate the misuse of the word unique. Something is unique or not unique. You can't be 'quite unique'.

Just a question about player values and price rises...

Hazard's ownership is going to rocket as soon as he comes back. His ownership has been artificially low because of an injury coming into the season so only 1.3% have selected him. That will increase around 10x I'd predict once he is playing again based on his history. Could his price plausibly increase by the maximum 0.3m for a few weeks in a row as people jump onto the bandwagon?

Is price rise done on % increase or is it based on a certain number of people transferring them in?

I guess what I am getting at is whether players with low ownership fluctuate in price more easily than those with higher ownership.

If so then maybe it's worth getting him into our teams sooner rather than later, even if he is a couple of weeks away from coming back.

    1. noquarternt
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Can't see it happening so crazily. 0.3 the first week back after a double or something. Most transfers would happen that week and not be equally spread.

I believe it is frozen for a set number of days after the flag is removed (7 possibly?) so this helps stop prices from rocketing.
Price increases rely predominantly on number of transfers in, it's the price drops that focus more on ownership.

      1. ste_the_legend

Is there a way to rate down comments?

Some people are clearly just trying to sabotage other teams/giving deliberate poor advice.

Probably worried by price rises so don't want people getting them or don't want others to do well or their own ranking suffers.

    Shame.

      But you're right.

24 hours before the first match of the week is the worst.

Need help with my team. Seem to have got myself in a bit of a mess. Already taken a 4 point hit, taking out KDB and Jesus for Erickson and Chicarito. (I was angry Monday night) but now I have 4.9 sitting in the bank and don't know whether to upgrade a midfielder/striker or wait to wildcard either this week or wait till after internationals. Ideally I want Kane in sooner than later. Any help appreciated

    De Gea
    Dann Davies Bertrand Kolasinac
    Erickson Pogba Redmund Fabregas
    Lukaku Hernandez

Subs - Elliot Carroll Abraham Rangel

If you want another hit, why not get another premium mid and go 3-5-2? Mane/Salah?

Yeah I was thinking that. Debating on doubling up with Ali but not sure.
