Heading into the 2017/18 season, the Fantasy Premier League reclassification of Roberto Firmino from midfielder to forward was a source of much chatter.

Three Gameweeks in and Firmino has made fools of those of us who shied away.

The Brazilian sits joint-top in the overall standings on 26 points, having notched two goals, a pair assists, and twice taken home a maximum bonus points haul. Indeed, only Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan (106) leads Firmino (101) in the Bonus Points System (BPS) to date.

Over this international break, interest in the Liverpool man has been understandably high. He has experienced one price hike already (from 8.5 to 8.6), and could possibly rise again between now and the Gameweek 4 deadline.

With Liverpool in rampant form – as evidenced by last week’s 4-0 demolition of Arsenal – Firmino offers managers an opportunity to save valuable funds by downgrading a premium forward option to a lower-priced alternative who has hitherto managed to outperform his more expensive rivals.

Here in the Technical Area, we thought that this week represented a good opportunity to dig into Firmino’s game in greater depth.

Specifically, we will be exploring how his profile compares to that of other FPL forwards and whether that early-season form can continue as the campaign unfolds.

Hello guys. What would you do with this lot? If I stick to the team I have and don't take a hit, would you play Carroll, Suttner or Fraser?

    Foster
    Davies, Stephens, Jones
    Willian, Eriksen, Mkhitaryan, Carroll
    Lukaku, Kane, Firmino

Subs: Elliott --- Suttner, Fraser, Long --- 0.4 ITB, 0 FT

    A) Stick
    B) Fraser -> Atsu (-4)
    C) Something else, what?

Yep. Willian, Fraser and possibly Stephens the ones to get rid of in the coming weeks. But is removing Fraser or Willian for a hit worth it now?

Actually since you have no free transfers I wouldn't take a hit because Willian still might start. Keep checking news on Hazards fitness and see what Conte says first. Defo don't take a hit for Fraser if he's on your bench this week

Anyone considering Aaron Ramsey for a midfield slot ?
For 7m and with Arsenal having decent fixtures,is he worth a look ?

I've got two free transfers and don't really want to use them:

    Foster (Elliot)
    Yoshida Bertrand Dawson (Suttner) (Mee)
    Ramsey Salah Mane Redmond (Carroll)
    Firmino Jesus Lukaku

Ramsey, Redmond and Jesus are most at risk but they all have decent attacking fixtures and I think that they could all do well this week

I can only think of a sideways move to downgrade Bertrand to Cedric to free up 0.5 and get Kane and a mid in for Jesus and Ramsey/Redmond next week with my 2 carried free transfers

I'm not getting rid of the Liverpool players, subs aren't really downgradable

    Any suggestions please?

Is this gameweek the time to place a gamble on the captaincy? Spurs and Man Utd play away and the likes of inconsistent Arsenal and goal shy Southampton have easy fixtures on paper. So could Lacazette or Gabbi prove a huge differential or a dodgy gamble?

Firmino is the biggest risk he's played the most minutes and has just returned from international duties.

Firmino hasn't played any minutes on international duty. Salah and Mane have played both games. Therefore I would think Firmino has the best chance of starting.

I have Hegazi and Jones and wondering which 3 to choose:

        1) Alonso Mbemba Mee/Naugton (0.3 will be remaining)
        2) Bailly Maguire Mee/Naughton (0.1 will be remaining)
        3) Other

        Lukaku, Kane (Quaner)

I'm a defence fan so don't take the easy route with that!
It doesn't seem like there's any midfield value between 8m and 5m, so that's why I haven't upgraded there.
Same with forwards, or do you reckon there's someone in the 4.5-6.5 range?

Will Sanches be the cheap mid in everyone's teams two months from now?

With Clyne injured, it just makes more sense for Klopp to play 3 at the back and OX as the wingback?

Dont have enough CBs imo. Gomez and TAA have actually done it very well at right back to so dont see the need.

Definitely. If I had a million in the bank I'd be upgrading Carroll or Loftus-Cheek to him. Sitting tight for now and hoping he stays quiet for a couple of weeks but I think he's comfortably the best option in that price bracket.

I think Spurs are a shambles playing at Wembley. Can't they just play at White Hart Lane while they continue the reconstruction?

And lose out on the revenue generated. Not sure it is a financially sound plan. The management cannot anticipate poor performance from a team just because they switched stadiums.

Johnny Evans is back fit, and scored last night.
Does this mean Hegazi will be on the bench?

Won't he and Hegazi both play CB with Dawson at RB and one of Gibbs/Nyom at LB?
