After another three-week break Fantasy Eliteserien finally returns. With 10 gameweeks left of the season things are getting serious. I’ll structure the article differently this time, focusing on latest transfers, injuries, suspensions and other notes.

TRANSFER NEWS

The transfer window in Norway closed before the last Gameweek, but a few key players have moved abroad and some clubs have signed players on free transfers.

Two key players have been sold. As expected, Fredrik Midtsjø moved to AZ Alkmaar before deadline. They bought Anders Trondsen as a replacement earlier in the window.

More surprisingly Ghayas Zahid moved abroad to APOEL. He will now get a chance to face Real Madrid, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. There is ome uncertainty in the Vålerenga midfield now as it’s not clear who’ll replace him.

Haris Hajradinovic has now been sold by Haugesund to Osijek in Croatia. Zahid and Hajradinovic’s departures deprive us two of the most exciting Double Gameweek 25 prospects, which is a shame.

A few clubs have also been signing players on free transfers. Viking have signed Ivorian striker Guessan Ghislain. He will probably get some gametime going forward.

Brann have signed a new keeper in Lars Cramer, due to Leciejewski’s injury woes and with  backup keeper Horwath injured for the rest of the season. Cramer won’t play though unless he really has to.

Tromsø are also very close to signing ex-Barcelona keeper Ruben Mino, but some paperwork trouble may delay the transfer.

INJURY NEWS

Rosenborg defenders Tore Reginiussen and Vegar Eggen Hedenstad are back from injuries and will most likely start this weekend. In form striker Matthias Vilhjalmsson picked up an injury in a friendly and is out for the rest of the season. Pål Andre Helland is still struggling with injuries and could need an operation.

Piotr Leciejewski is expected to be back for Brann this weekend. He’s been struggling with an injury, but he did play a week ago in a friendly against Haugesund. He wasn’t completely fit and struggled to kick the ball, but he’s getting better and likely to play. Vito Wormgoor picked up an injury in training and is a doubt for Brann’s game against Sogndal on Saturday. Brann’s lineup will be out before deadline, so keep an eye on that one. Daniel Braaten is still out with an injury, but according to the man himself he could be back for Gameweek 22.

Other injured players includes Bård Finne from Vålerenga, Martin Broberg from Odd and Jakub Serafin from Haugesund who picked up injuries during the break.

A player who was expected to be out for the rest of the season returned two weeks ago. In the cup quarterfinals Aleksander Melgalvis scored a beautiful free kick for Lillestrøm. He’s still out of position and is again a great option.

Marcus Pedersen is a doubt for Strømsgodset’s game against Rosenborg this weekend, after picking up an injury in training

SUSPENSIONS

The list of suspended players this week is very long. Haugesund will be without key player Fredrik Pallesen Knudsen in their defence. Strømsgodset will be without both their centre backs Jakob Glesnes and Kim Andre Madsen, so Jonathan Parr will most likely slot in at centre back.

Christian Landu Landu is suspended for Tromsø, which means Gjermund Åsen could be moved back to central midfield. Other suspended players includes Marco Tagbajumi, Andre Danielsen, Mikkel Kirkeskov, Victor Demba Bindia, Kristoffer Zachariassen, Sondre Sørli, Daniel Gretarson, Lasse Nilsen and Simen Wangberg.

OTHER NEWS

Tromsø – Odd was originally moved to 27st September, but has since been shifted to 21st September instead. It’s still not moved within the game, but I personally think this means the Double Gameweek will be in Gameweek 22 instead of Gameweek 23. This is good news  as both Odd and Tromsø have a home game in Gameweek 22 already.

Vålerenga are moving into their brand new stadium this Gameweek and it will be interesting to see how it affects them

Viking have been testing out a new formation with three at the back during the break. They do look more solid at , but are still struggling to score. It means Kristoffer Haugen and probably Claes Kronberg will start as wing backs. Haugen could be a particular strong option if Viking start keeping a few clean sheets, but for now it’s probably best to stay away.

I have probably missed out on some info. Please comment below if you have more news on injuries or other stuff.

Even Hovland signed for Sogndal on a free transfer. Great signing.

      Nice pun.

Sogndal must have one of the biggest squads in a Fantasy game ever. 32 players.

I can't change my Rosenborg trio for the rest of the season after finding the name Andrégbendtner for them.

Rashani got his second yellow and I have Åsen with two yellows. You just know they will get a yellow next weekend and become SGW players.

Hopefully Ruud won't get a yellow today, don't need three players that are one yellow away from suspension in a DGW.

Molde doesn't look good here. Odd have been closer to scoring in the first half.

Don't think (non defence) Odd have looked good either though. Riski the only one with couple of shots.

    Strand goal, Ellingsen assist.

Samuelsen penalty goal. Think it was an Occean assist.

    Quite unispired for DGW22.

Don't fancy TIL CS in either game. Given Ohi suspension it comes down to 1/2 of Odd defender, Til/Odd mid, L Olsen.
Even -4 feels dodgy though given form.

      Not worth a -4.

Captaincy is hard next GW though. Ruud? Rashani? Åsen? Or a SGW player?

Good point on captain. Ohi out, Adegbenro game thurs makes that risky.
I wouldn't feel comfortable captaining one of the mids so probably Olsen or Odd defender - whichever I go for.

Keep an eye on Tromsø lineup though. Wouldn't be surprised to see at least one of Sigurdarson and Ingebrigtsen get a start, with one of Lehne Olsen, Bakenga and Åsen dropping out.

    WC activated - 1st draft - 0.0 ITB - gives me 6 x DGWers this week, with 6 x DGWers potentially after 3 x FTS for GW25

    Kongshavn Sandberg
    Hedensted Ruud Rolantsson Odegaard Andreassen
    Jevtovic Adegbenro Samuelsen Pedersen Haugen
    Sigurdarson Occean Abdi

    Concerns:

Adegbenro - lots of value tied up in him - surely he will be a regular starter very soon though?
Occean - Has been shocking this season - is he the right choice for captain this DGW?

    Thoughts?

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 11 months ago

I'm absolutely keeping Adegbenro. Occean looked much the same yesterday. Wc - could be genius although form, gw 23/24 fixtures & potential RBK rotation make it awkward.

Sandberg is not a starter, he's the backup goalkeeper.

Odd have scored 16 goals in 20 games. They have fewest shots in the league and fewest shots on target. They have second lowest percentage of their shots on targets as well. They are absolutely dreadful going forward this year. Worth taking into consideration at least.

Would be more concerned about Jevtovic than Adegbenro to be honest.I like the Abdi and Andreassen punts though.

Makes you wonder what happened to Odd, they are the same S.O.B's that scored on demand last season, creating 4+ chances per game with an over 30% conversion....

      Hey Jarvish,

Can you do Occean to Bendtner and Jevtovic to Diatta? The latter is excellent value, almost a "must have".

I get that you want to fully ejoy the DGW though, but Occean has been such a bad pick all season. And Bendtner is finally starting to live up to his price tag, especially with Vilhjalmson out for the season.

I might be leading the all important team value competition with 109,5m. 🙂 A lot of money tied on players though, of course.

Will probably get Rossbach in goal. Any thoughts on the order of best Odd defender would be appreciated. Ruud, Grogaard, Berge, Hagen?

    1. Niemi
      • 12 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Ruud, Semb Berge, Grøgard and Hagen IMO. Grøgaard would be second or maybe even number one if he was nailed, but he face some competition from Våge Nilsen, who dropped out of the midfield yesterday, and Kitolano. Wouldn't be surprised too see him benched for one of the two games, but I have no idea really. Bergan could get a game at CB too.

.. but then again I'm no expert on Odd.

      1. Ramboros
        • 15 Years
        8 years, 11 months ago

I would put Semb Berge last. Hagen is the club captain and plays everything. Semb Berge has had a terrible season, and I can see Bergan getting a game ahead of him. Semb Berge has the highest goal threat, but hasn't shown it this year.

        1. Niemi

I've put Semb Berge second because of goal threat, but as you said he haven't been good this season. Missed quite a few games due to injuries too. I honestly have no idea who misses out if Bergan starts, but you might have a fair point.

Ruud doesn't have much competition though.

Here is my WC team take 2.............

    Rossbach Kwarasey
    Hedenstad Rolantsson Ruud Odegaard Skjerve
    Adegbenro Jevtovic Haugen Samuelsen Pedersen
    Sigurdarson Olsen Abdi

1.9 ITB - again, gives me 6 x DGWers this week, with 6 x DGWers potentially after 3 x FTS for GW25 (but some money ITB this time which I think I will need)

Also, Olsen, Samuelsen or Ruud for captain this week?

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 11 months ago

A risk but I quite like the idea - actually making me reconsider wildcarding.
Think I'd try to squeeze in Bendtner/Melgalvis/Diatta/SAN def/maybe SIF mid, but appreciate compromises have to made.

Captain - Ruud probably the safest, not sure about best.

      1. MTPockets
        8 years, 11 months ago

To clarify, I think 'a risk' because Tromso & Odd have rubbish GW23/25 fixtures (potentially similar for Haugesund fwds/defs GW24/26). It's difficult to address with free transfers, while keeping consistent core of good non-dgwers.

        1. Rogue Todd

Yeah - I suppose I am just a sucker for a DGW 🙂 Will be phasing out the Tromso players sharpish after the DGW, and expect the Haugeslanders to be bench fodder up until their DGW. Not sure about Diatta's fixtures, Bendy too expensive, Melgalvis may bring in soon.

Cheers for your (and everyone's) feedback as ever 🙂

Thoughts on Olsen Solberg > Norbye? Slightly regret not getting Norbye on my WC. I need to fund Rashani>Ulland Andersen next week anyway, this would leave me with the exact money ITB.

Alternative is to save and downgrade Ruud next GW to fund EUA. Could sell BBS too next week, but he normally bounce back after playing poorly.

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 11 months ago

If I wildcard will get a Tromso defender. 4m for two home games worth the risk I think. Only 2CS (1H, 1A) but surely they'll be putting everything into just staying up now.
San probably worth investment from GW24 but from playing around with transfers it's difficult to keep one through the DGWs.
BBS - really unsure. Ok fixtures until the end, but not scoring enough.

      1. Niemi
        • 12 Years
        8 years, 11 months ago

Really regret putting Solberg Olsen in for Norbye in the end on my WC - would have started Melgalvis last GW if I didn't.

Two home games as you say and Odd are dreadful going forward so a decent chance of a CS. Norbye also a wingback now, so he got some attacking threat (unless they change formation after the Kristiansund game).

BBS have good fixtures until the end of the game, so I doubt I'll touch him to be honest after further thinking.

I'm getting EUA next GW anyway so it's either Solberg Olsen > Norbye now or Ruud > someone next GW.

        1. MTPockets
          8 years, 11 months ago

Extra game this week vs. not ideal GW23 for most in form defenders. Would say extra game as Solberg's GW23 fixture not great either, but means having to play at least one defender in crap fixture (melgalvis, norbye, ruud). Difficult choice.

Ohi suspension makes it more likely I lose him over BBS. Dilemma is are DGW fwds worth the risk. Want Bendtner, and Mortensen later - doesn't leave much space.

          1. Niemi
            • 12 Years
            8 years, 11 months ago

I'm not going to field Solberg in GW23 anyway. I would probably play him in GW24 and probably GW26, but I have decent cover in GW24 at least.

          2. Niemi
            • 12 Years
            8 years, 11 months ago

Regarding Ohi, BBS and Bendtner, for me they are probably season keepers. Ohi is scoring almost every week now (and not a coincident if you look at stats), Bendtner have hit form (less likely to be rotated because of Vilhjalmson inj) and BBS have good fixtures.

Molde's and BBS's form not the best at the moment, but with those fixtures I'm not sure if I want to get rid for any of the DGW players. Some tasty home fixtures and good away fixtures as well.

            1. MTPockets
              8 years, 11 months ago

I basically agree, just feel I need to seriously weigh up Mortensen and/or DGW punts vs Ohi fixtures and BBS form. Potentially losing locked-in value (and already having Diatta) makes it even more awkward.

Obviously Mortensen is a good pick, but I currently have much value tied up in BBS and Ohi so it wasn't an option for me on my WC. Might reconsider after DGW in GW25 though. If Sigurdarson keep on blanking, I might replace him with Mortensen. Ohi have four away games in his last six fixtures, so you could make a case for swapping him with Mortensen as well. Mortensen last six fixtures are pretty tasty. For now Diatta is enough for me, he also plays up front for Sarpsborg.

DGW attackers not worth it over any of them for me. Lehne Olsen is decent, but then again Åsen is good too and I don't have to sell one of my best players to get him. They have both been playing out wide lately. Abdi is also a decent pick and Haugesund have no good options in midfield, but I think I'll stay away.

Odd doesn't have any good options up front, same goes for Vålerenga. Tasty fixtures for Vålerenga in GW25 though, so if Moa or Finne could find some form in the next few fixtures it could be worth a punt. Very much doubt it.

                1. MTPockets
                  8 years, 11 months ago

                  Can't argue with that.

My thinking keeps going round in circles. I don't want to wc for more or less the same core team + prioritising peripheral non-form players. Yet also don't want to miss out on 6 potential extra fixtures. Need to ponder it more.

Do you have any players from these teams? Another option is to use free transfers to bring them in both for this GW and GW25, then wildcard to fix your team afterwards. Might be a bit late to wildcard with only five fixtures left though.

A dead team could have had at least a 61 point lead overall by this time. With auto subs a few times it would probably have been 70+

    Bråtveit (5.0)
    Hedenstad (6.5), Rolantsson (6.0), Seck (4.0)
    Zahid (10.5), Haugen (C) (9.0), Adegbenro (7.5), Brochmann (6.0)
    Sigurdarson (9.0), Mos (8.5), Omoijuanfo (6.5)

    21.5m for subs.

    1. Ramboros
      • 15 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

Adegbenro has the highest PPM and should be captain. He missed GW1, 2, 3 and 13. Rolantsson and Haugen scored 24 points in those GWs. Mortensen scored 29 points, and should therefore be in the team over Mos and have the VC.

There are a few stupid things you could do to get more points, such as having Kitolano and Myhra in the team. In my experience a lot of the dead teams that have done well, are teams that lucked out with auto subs.

Yeah, true. Didn't look too much into it, just took the top scorers overall. With maximum luck a dead team could have had a pretty big lead, maybe even 100 points.

Cheers lads. Considering wildcarding – how's this:

    2.0ITB
    Rossbach - Jonsson
Melgalvis - Stølås - Remmer - Hedenstad - Olsen Solberg
    Diatta - Kassi - U.Andersen - Haugen - Adegbenro
Lehne Olsen - Mortensen - Bendtner

    These transfers equals four hits.
This way I can go Lehne Olsen -> Ohi next round.

Is it worth it to get Ruud for Rolantsson beacuse of DGW? It would mean that I might not be able to get Rolantsson back in for a while considering I bought him for 6.5 and he is now 7.3.

    Olsen Solberg-->Ruud
    Knudtzon-->Pedersen

Would be kinda silly to sell Knudtzon before KBK at home though. Especially when Pedersen might not play both games. I have two free transfers, so I feel I have to do something. Just not sure what I want to do.

    Full team:

    Rossbach - McDermott
Meling - Wormgoor - Rolantsson - Olsen Solberg - Granli
    Haugen - Knudtzon - Adegbenro - Rashani - Diatta
    Ohi - BBS - Bendtner

But Solberg Olsen>Ruud isn't possible if you got 0.0ITB

Why do I post before I think.. I see now. Do you have 2FT or is the second one for a hit? Wouldn't do it for a hit.

Two FT. Wrote that in the original post also 😉

Only Rolantsson-->Ruud possible out of those.

        Could do
        Rolantsson-->Ruud
        Granli-->Norbye

That's not too bad actually. Would mean benching Wormgoor against Sandefjord though :/

Haha, I'm sorry. Missed the two transfers part too!

Decent moves. I've got rid of Rolantsson myself, but it could come back and haunt me if he starts to deliver again. You could save the second FT too, or maybe get someone like Melgalvis instead of Nordbye.

I had Melgalvis, but got rid when they said he would be out for months. Might get him back in now.

Thanks a lot for the replies. By the way, I think I stumbled across your team the other day. We have the exact same amount of points.

Same regarding Melgalvis. Got him back last week, but benched him 🙁

Barmen doubtful for Brann this GW. Braaten still injured. Rolantsson still expected to start, although Marenga apparently have been impressing in training.

I'm tempted to WC this week to make the most of the DGW, the teams in the second DGW look less appealing to me...

    1. MTPockets

      Indeed, no dgwers very inspiring.

Playing around with WC ends up on what had pencilled in previously + Melgalvis.
Leaving some FKH/VIF choices for later. Ohi will likely go for gw25 dgwer, maybe Abdi.

    Rossbach, Bratveit
    ODD, FKH, VIF, Melgalvis, Norbye
Diatta, Adegbenro, TIL , SIF/TIL, ODD
    BBS, Bendtner, Mortensen/Ohi

Very similar to my WC, but I had Haugen instead of SIF/TIL and Solberg Olsen over Norbye.

Hopefully that's a good thing. I'll probably do it - half the squad will be unchanged anyway.

New wildcard draft (caps = already own):

    Rossbach - Kwarasey
MELGALVIS - STØLAS - Ødegaard - HEDENSTAD - OLSEN SOLB
DIATTA - KASSI ANDERSEN - HAUGEN - Adegbenro
Lehne Olsen - MORTENSEN - Bendtner

    2,7itb

Thoughts, chaps? Would be much appreciated!

IMO Norbye is a better option than Ødegaard regardless of price. He's a wingback in the new system.

Monitor Kassi as well. He missed out last week, but I haven't read why yet.

Thanks, great input. No Tromsø knowledge here (apart from that Wangberg might be out with an injury), so just took the guy with 2nd most points and steady gametime.

        Norbye is nailed on, yes?

        I noticed Kassi's absence, but hope it's just a week's absence.

Would you play Kassi or U.Andersen this week?

        Cheers!

          Norbye should be nailed on.

Just read that Kassi is doubtful to make it this weekend. According to himself it's 50/50. You'll have the lineups before deadline.

Tough one. Ulland Andersen probably the better prospect, but Kassi at home. Might not be a decision though if Kassi is out.

Is Samuelsen Odd's regular penalty taker (when playing)?

I think Nordkvelle might take them. He's been injured for a while, but he was back this GW and was subbed in for the last 15 minutes (after the penalty).

      1. MTPockets
        8 years, 11 months ago

No real upside to him then, as both his goals have been penalties w/o Nordkvelle.

Nope. I'm pretty sure Nordkvelle is their preferred penalty taker, but it could have changed during the season.

    Rossbach (Bratveit)
Ruud - Hedenstad - Seck (Wormgoor, Rosted)
    Adegbenro - Diatta - Asen - Rashini - Andersen
Mortensen - BBS (K atm) (Ohi)
Happy with this atm but thinking - Sigurdarson away at Viking or Adegbenro at home for captain, and do I loose Ohi for Bendtner or Stokke this week?
I have lost track of deadline time as I am jet lagged and all my clocks show different time zones. Have a good double game week all 🙂

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 11 months ago

Ideally Adegbenro but playing tonight so guess a risk. Same goes for Bendtner.
Deadline's Sat, but FPL is TOMORROW.

Adegbenro playing right now away against Real Sociedad, so I'm not 100% certain he'll start on Sunday. Sigurdarson and Molde have been poor lately, but it's Viking though. Sigurdarson have been playing out wide at times too.

Not taking the chance on a double gameweek player for captaincy?
