Jose Mourinho is set to be without the injured Paul Pogba when Manchester United face Everton. Sadio Mane is suspended for Liverpool’s home meeting with Burnley, while Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton is set for a long spell on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.

Paul Pogba suffered a hamstring injury in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over FC Basel, and will miss the visit of Everton to Old Trafford on Sunday. The France international is set to be sidelined for at least a month, with Marouane Fellaini pushing for a start in his absence after scoring in the midweek win over Basel. Mourinho’s press conference later this afternoon will off the full prognosis.

Liverpool will be without the suspended Sadio Mane for the home encounter against Burnley. Jurgen Klopp could turn to Philippe Coutinho, on the left of the front three, with the Senegal international set to miss the next two Gameweeks.

Tom Heaton will be missing at Anfield. He has undergone surgery on the dislocated shoulder he suffered last Sunday and is set to be ruled out for a couple of months. Nick Pope will take over in goal for the trip to Anfield.

Ryan Fraser is expected to recover from an ankle injury to be fit for tonight’s home clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Bruno (back problem) has been given the all clear and is fit for tonight’s encounter.

Mauricio Pellegrino will decide today whether Virgil van Dijk will be involved in Southampton’s trip to Crystal Palace after the defender played 90 minutes for the U23s on Monday. We await news from Roy Hodgson and the Eagles camp later today.

Steve Mounie is a doubt for Huddersfield Town’s home meeting with Leicester City due to a knock, but is expected to return to training today.

As for the Foxes, they have major doubts over both Matty James (hamstring) and Christian Fuchs (eye problem), but Craig Shakespeare has revealed that Kelechi Iheanacho and Vicente Iborra are available.

Geoff Cameron will miss the trip to Newcastle after suffering a hamstring injury, while Ryan Shawcross remains doubtful due to a back problem.

Marco Silva will be without Younes Kaboul (leg), Sebastian Prodl (hamstring) and Craig Cathcart (knee) for the home meeting with Manchester City, but both Roberto Pereyra and Kiko Femenia are available.

Oliver Burke (hamstring), Nacer Chadli (knock) and James McClean (illness) are doubts for West Bromwich Albion’s home encounter with West Ham United. Gareth McAuley was handed a run-out for the reserves earlier this week but Pulis conceded he will “have to wait and see” whether the Irishman is fit enough to face the Hammers.

Marko Arnautovic is available to take on the Baggies after completing his three-match ban, but Mark Noble (knee) has been ruled out.

Finally, Wilfried Bony is set to remain on the bench for Swansea City’s trip to Wembley as he continues to build up his match fitness.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s 7pm deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Either what's been said or downgrade a 6m type and beef up to a tasty wingback in defence

Willian has been excellent the past couple of weeks. MOTM performances in CL and arguably against Everton. I was hoping he'd drop last night so I could get him at 7m.

I don't think Hazard starts this once, so we could see Willian and Pedro vs Arsenal.

Keep him until he's not starting.

Hey guys. Some advice would be nice!

I´m thinking of bringing Davies in for Yoshy but to do that i need to take Richarlison out for a cheaper option. Is it worth a - 4 when i already have Trippier? In that case, who should the cheaper mid be? Or just save the FT and maybe do it for free next week.
Could also just do a straight swap Trippy -> Davies..

    1 FT 0.5 ITB

    Elliott (Foster)
    Jones, Trippy, Yoshy, (TAA) (Long)
    Miki, Eriksen, Salah,Rich (Carroll)
    Lukaku, Morata, Firm

    Cheers.

Friday means my incessant flapping over my WC can finally end...

Just today to make final changes. What would you change to this lot. There's 0 ITB

    Foster/ Elliot

    Jones/ Bavies/ Monreal/ Naughton/ Hunemeier

    Erikssen/ Silva/ Choupo/ Gross/ Carroll

    Kane/ Lukaku/ Morata

    Thanks!

      I m on WC too.
Also going with eriksen, choupo and Gross in mid.
Front Kane for sure. Morata also in my team. I m temped to go for Jesus over Lukaku but game time worries... what do u think?

      1. Can’t beat em so&hell…
        • 14 Years

I solid on Kane Lukaku - I think not having either could be a real problem.

My debate is Morata or Firmino. Problem is, the extra 1.5 doesn't do much for the midfiled... the mid range midfielders are all a bit meh...

Bold frontline, could work very well!

You're counting on two mid-priced mids to keep performing. I just think it's more prudent to rely on a 4th premium defender at 5.5 instead.

      Someone other than Fellaini.

He looks the most likely to get points in his price bracket...even if he comes on late.

I'm doing Pogba > Fellaini if I get good vibes from Mourinho's press conference.

Not at 4.9m, he isn't. He's an enabler and probably the most dangerous 5m midfielder in the game.

Don't you think Herrera is the more likely replacement for Pogba? I think Mourinho likes having Fellaini as a supersub.

I'm probably biased to the fact he played well in CL with a goal and an assist, and now has his former club in Everton up next.

Herrera's energy could easily be chosen against a weary Everton side, I agree, but even from the bench Fellaini has a good shot at attacking points.

The wise option would be to wait and see, but I'm going to take a punt on him.

I like Alli while he's suspended from CL. Eriksen will be the go-to pick for the season, I think.

Bring in Vardy or Firmino? Already have Salah

    1. Dele

I'm in the same boat and I'm going Vardy. No champions league, less rotation risk and same goal scoring ability.

Just isn't on the ball as much as Firmino. What's your opinion?

      1. Unbowed Unbent N'Golo
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 6 months ago

I'm leaning towards Vardy as well, although on paper Firmino is probably the better and more popular choice. Reckon Firmino will retain pens?

        1. Dele
          • 9 Years
          8 years, 6 months ago

I think he will retain pens. It also depends whether you want to spread your team and not limit it to a few clubs.

Also Vardy could be a nice differential. 3 goals in 4 games against some tough teams too. Can only get better surely?

          1. Unbowed Unbent N'Golo
            • 9 Years

I'm more for hedging personally. Firmino's imminent rise is hard to ignore, but I think I'm sold on Vards. Better fixtures too, and still have WC to shuffle the pack if it backfires.

i've got Vardy and Firmino, both potentially good value and could deliver as many more or more points than more expensive strikers, got money itb to upgrade when one of them really disappoints me or gets injured/suspended

Does anyone else think a Firmino and Salah double up is a risk?

Burnley have been a bit of a bogey team for Liverpool recently, can we really see them getting torn apart?

i would not be looking to double up right now. Think firmino is the best option but would choose eriksen/alli over salah right now

Bogey's are getting ripped this season, Liv vs City.... Feel Pool will be hurting from the last 2 matches and want to show some intent. But take my views with a pinch of salt, Salah owner here.
Who would you choose if not double-up?

      Mkhi+Ritchie -> Salah + RLC/Atsu?
      or
Lukaku + Ritchie -> Vardy + Salah. (Does funds permit?)

Thanks. Funds permit but why ditch united assets? Everton look awful? Vardy has poor stats too ? Ritchie is not very exciting but I have 5.9 to spend and I think due to set pieces he could be the best option at the range.
