In the abscense of Niemi’s fine work this week, here is a little throw-together to hold you over.

Coming out of the first ever Eliteserien Fantasy DoubleGameWeek, hearts were broken for a lot of players running with defensive Odd options, while Tromsø were on fire .

STOCK CHECK

Hot ticket items

Nicklas Bendtner (Rosenborg, forward, 12.4)
Once again finding the net and a spot in the round dream-11, the Lord has not looked back since finding his stride. Ownership up to 32,9% now, not quite where he was at season start, but it is getting risky fielding a team without the great dane now.

Eirik Ulland Andersen (Strømsgodset, midfielder, 8.5)
The Godset star of the season is still showing form, netting another goal and the clean sheet point. Upcoming fixtures makes him an attractive player, with the next three Tromsø(H), Viking(A), and Odd (H). While all three teams have shown improvement up front, they concede goals, and Andersen is likely to score them.

Simen Wangberg (Tromsø, defender, 4.7)
The only real hero of the DGW, he found the net no less than three times over the two games, picking up a clean sheet and five bonus points. Tromsø have shown themselves as contenders to stay up, now their back is to the wall, and the captain is leading the charge. This choice is double-edged though, as a Tromsø-side chasing points is likely to take risks moving forward, giving Wangberg lots to do at the back.

Mos (Aalesund, forward, 8.9)
Despite neither player nor team showing any will or form to grab three-pointers these days, Mos can’t help scoring goals. As the regular penalty-taker with fox-in-the-box know-how he has now netted 12 goals this season, with a couple of assists on the side.

Krepin Diatta (Sarpsborg 08, midfielder, 6.0)
One of the real hopes before the season, Krepin went halfway through it without playing much. For the second half though, he has truly shown his potential, and is nowhere near done. Sarpsborg went with a surprising rotation last Gameweek, fielding backups in seven positions, but they have now gotten to that cup final they were seeking, and all hands should be back in for the league. Diatta is sure to lead on in that, and is the major choice from Sarpsborg.

Ice cold prospects

Mushaga Bakenga (Tromsø, forward, 9.9)
It was worth a punt in the DGW, but Bakenga managed only a goal and little else in a combined seven goal run for Tromsø, and shows no value whatsoever at his Rosenborg-price of 9.9.

Abdoulaye Seck (Sandefjord, defender, 5.4)
I’ll regret putting this in, but this player has lost his appeal somewhat. With only two clean sheets and five bonus  in the last 10 he has not brought much to starving teams. Sandefjord being in no mans land mid-table makes the upcoming fixtures turbulent, with both top and bottom teams desperate for points.

DIFFERENTIALS AND PUNTS

Erling Braut Håland (Molde, forward, 4.2)
Firmly in the punt category, this tank of a centre forward is getting a tiny increase in minutes played, and scored his second goal of the season vs. Viking. I’ll admit to borrowing this selection from the Eliteserien Fantasy show, but in the close of the season this kind of big strong forward is likely to get time on the pitch to break down teams such as Molde, who are chasing medals and the EuropaLeague qualifying spot now they are out of the Cup. The price and potential savings for the rest of the team also appeal.

Kasper Skaanes (Brann, midfielder, 5.0)
With Braaten still missing in action, Deyver Vega has stolen the spotlight in a Brann team back on form. Skaanes has not gotten the big hauls, but is poised and ready to step up. Games vs. a Vålerenga team in shambles away, followed by KBK at home, should give him a chance to shine.

OTHER MENTIONS

Ohi will be back this gameweek, and is still hot in the box, with a close to 50% ownership he is likely a make or break player each GW in the home stretch of the league.

Also keep an eye on Lillestrøm defenders, with two of them now playing out of position in the sides, this looks a real tempting option for double or even triple ups after the Rosenborg game, when their fixtures clear up nicely.

Speaking of Rosenborg, their midfield are proving a real headache with wingers rotating throught, and Helland back in the mix. Trondsen and Jensen look pretty secure in their box-to-box lanes though.

And finally, if you’ve not done so already, start checking Haugesund-prospects. With a nice program leading in, and a DGW coming up, stocking players from there seems a much safer choice than anything for the DGW passed, and Vålerenga looking lost without Zahid.

FINAL THOUGHTS

With only eight GW’s left, pay close attention to the theoretical point lines. once teams are confirmed safe or out of runnings, we’ll start seeing some real strange results popping up, and one never, ever underestimate teams with their backs to the walls. This was not quite up to Niemis standards, but I hope you enjoyed anyway. 🙂

According to the local newspaper today, and an interview with the head coach, everyone except Haugen and Madsen is available today. I think that is more reliable. Let's hope Ulland is fit for fight. My captain today.

Fishy things, there are reports BBS is NOT in the squad for Molde, Håland to start.... in other words potential big score on my diff-suggestion but what happened to BBS?

Remember deadline tomorrow. No new article from me this week.

Samuel Adegbenro, Abdoulaye Seck, Marcus Pedersen, Eirik Schulze, Kristoffer Haugen, Martin Ramsland and Marius Amundsen all suspended this week.

Wormgoor and Acosta doubts for Brann, so they could be without their preferred CB pairing. Kristiansen definitely out (first choice LB).

Not read any news on Ruud, but pretty sure he's doubtful for this weekend.

I won't make it for a backup one this week either.... Bendtner with goal and assist in EL today, still red-hot. Haugen for Brann still strong. Jradi and Andersen from Godset, and Sigurdarsson from Molde big tips.

Differential-prospects Grossmüller, Kastrati and the Lillestrøm defence.

Cheers. Not sure what to do this week with Adegbenro out, Diatta vs rbk etc. Think I'll just wear it, roll a transfer and hope a decent dgw option shows up.

Diatta could score against anyone. He's one of the best players in Eliteserien and playing OOP up front.

Fridjonsson and Ejuke cheap punts from Vålerenga's midfield for DGW. One of them most likely coming in for Åsen for me next GW. Fridjonsson most tempting right now, but could change over the weekend.

          1. MTPockets
              8 years, 2 months ago

Fair enough on Diatta. Yeah Fridjonsson seems to be the one that's come in since Zahid left, so guess there's potential. But same as you - don't want to get mid early as it will likely be in/out for dgw. I still have Asen + Bekenga, but not the worst fixture to play them.

            Thanks. Great article.

A bit harsh on Bakenga though, calling him "ice cold" after scoring two games in a row. Not worth 9.9, but he did score a goal in each of the two DGW games.

Might be harsh, but it's mostly not his fault though.... it's the insane pricetag that just makes him a no-go prospect..... he'll not live up to that in Tromsø

Looks like I goofed on the Bakenga-score..... he did indeed score 2, somehow I missed that looking at both Fantasy, score stats etc.
Will still stand on my view though, at the Rosenborg price of 9.9 he just has no value outside the DGW setup for me.

                  Which option?

                  A) Hedenstad or Rolantsson to stølås?

                  B) Ryerson to one of Skjerve, Haraldseid or Knutsen

Rumors about that Rolantsson is close to benching, and not really being very productive lately, despite his goal against Odd.... but I still think I'd go for B... Viking have really tried, but don't look likely to turn it around at all this season.

Their back-4 mostly benefit from the CS, but Knudsen is more prone to any kind of BP when that happens, so go with Knudsen I'd say.

Just transferred Aguero in and using as captain, but as we say, it will be "typical Palace" if with Sakho starting we pull off a goalless draw or only concede 1 late goal off an own goal. Hedging my bets here 😀

Dunno what happened there, in my saved file here it reads:
"is not unlikely to get time on the pitch to break down teams in desperate defence, as Molde are chasing medals and the EuropaLeague qualifying spot now they are out of the Cup."

                  My team:
                  Bratveit-McDermott
                  Hedenstad-Rolantsson-Melgalvis-Olsen Solberg-Norbye
                  Diatta-Haugen-Adegbenro-Ulland Andersen-Åsen
                  Bendtner-Ohi-Lehne Olsen
                  2,7m ITB

I'm in a tough battle for the win in my ML.
I took the WC before this last DGW round and stacked up on TIL. In that WC both Knutzon and BBS were kicked out of my team. I have kind of a bad feeling for not having them anymore, but..

Norbye is ok as a cheap bench defender, I guess. But both Åsen and Lehne Olsen is probably best to transfer out now.

My plans are to get at least 1 more Haugesund player in for the DGW, maybe 2. Who do you think are the best Haugesund assets in addition to Bratveit, which I already have? Abdi for Lehne in next GW maybe? (Abdi out now)

                  Who in for Åsen?
And if trying to squeeze in another Haugesund defender, who do I get rid of? Rolantsson maybe, but I lose quite a bit of value selling him now. So hard to get in again if it should ever be a case.

Don't really fancy any DGW mids yet so postponing decision for later. Leaves defender for now personally. Stølås or one of the others - seem fairly even but bit of discussion in post above.

Rolantsson - not sure, although I'll probably just sell Norbye.

Ok. I read something about Brann fans thinking Rolantsson's place soon will be in jeopardy, with Marengo as a possible replacement. Skaanes and Barmen also in the loop, and Braathen soon to be back too?

But playing VIF this week, a clean sheet is very much possible for Rolantsson if he starts. So a bit tough to take him out.

Ideally I would transfer out Norbye. But it would eat into my money ITB.

Who is your captaincy pick this GW?

For me its between BBS and Bendtner. Bendtner is in the best form of them, but BBS is playing at home against a Sandefjord with not that much to play for. Bendtner plays LSK who has lots of self esteem after their cup semi. Kippe will also be onto Bendtner like a stamp. But then again, Bendtner is Bendtner and LSK also had less time to prepare then RBK and could have tired legs.. Tight call.

Dont think I will decide until just before the deadline.

I was waiting on teamsheet to get him in. Apparently injury-prone & Abdi could take his place back there so quite risky. But did it anyway.

Ok, thanks. I wanted a defender from Haugesund, that I don't have to worry about not playing the coming 2-3 weeks. So I took Knudsen. Feels safer. He should play. It hurt my bank more than I wanted though. Did Norbye->Knudsen. Good luck w/Andreassen 🙂

Brought in Vega and Stølås as punts ahead of wildcarding before GW24, but they could both stay in. Big question will be how Rosenborg-heavy to go which will affect funds. Bendtner will probably come in and I'll almost definitely have a defender, but Adegbenro might be too good to ignore.

Don't think anyone's on the beach yet. Stabaek have dropped off and Vålerenga are going to miss Zahid but the mid table teams could still be drawn into a relegation battle so they'll still need to put in performances.

                              That's some good timing.

Haha, didn't have a preference between him, Skjerve and Haraldseid but money was no object this week so decided to splash out.

Skjerve winner after setting up the first too! Defensive triple-up looks likely...

                              Stølås (3)
                              Leite (2)
                              Skjerve

(I thought Leite was meh. Greedy and tries to play like he's better than he is)

Looks like Ulland is ill and will be missing out tomorrow according to a Norwegian forum

Reports suggest Bendtner is to play... there is still hope for your team then 🙂

It would be nice if the comments for foreign leads has some indicator in the comments ticker ... I keep getting tricked into coming here

Andersen on the starting XI sheet for Strømsgodset, guess he wasn't as sick as reported....

André Hansen is also benched. Not the worst timing, as LSK scores in every game.

Great timing by McD to save a penalty today.

Adegbenro suspended for a game then.
