Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

    Alonso, Bavies, Jones, Hegazi
    Eriksen, Salah, Mkhi
    Kane, Kun, Joselu
    (Elliott, Mbemba, Carroll, Cork)

Really want to replace Joselu to Vardy or Morata.

Not bad but puts you in some awkward spots. You leave a deadzone in midfield where you can't upgrade to a 7-8mil option if they start firing, similarly your only route to Kaku/Kun Is through Kane which makes life awkward. Walker not worth it IMO.

      1. Smelbow

        Can easily make walker Azpi.

I can't see anything in the 7-8 mill mark in midfield that is likely to fire. Vardy to a cheaper striker and upgrade richarlison is doable though

That's not what I'm saying. Form emerges throughout the season. Pogba/Silva/Ramsey/Chelsea mids, even Sane/Sterling have the potential to emerge as big scorers.

Vardy to a cheaper in form striker and Richarlison upgrade covers that though I feel

i agree with timothyjs here coz its your wildcard and this has to work for quit some time, jones and richalison getting harsh fixtures, cant see gross keep this tempo up.imo vardy might be our troll this year but what i really don't like is the 2-3non playing players on your bench this is very important especially on your wildcard....but i do enjoy the walker/man city defense pick very decent fixtures coming up and the look sold lately good luck smelbow 😉

wouldn't pick Jones as their fixtures really get tough around now. Maybe Otamendi as City's fixtures after Chelsea are very good. Eriksen to D.Silva maybe and then upgrade on one of your 4.0 defenders.

I'm with you. A rest for Kun in midweek and he's nailed as my captain. Chelsea aren't that great defensively right now, and City have been irresistible going forward. Plus Chelsea's team will be more tired than Cities

Agreed, could be a high scoring game 2-2 or something along them lines, Chelsea cant afford to rest players midweek, they travel to one of the best teams in the world athletico, where as city can afford to give players a break as they should roll Shakhtar over!

I am correct to W/C this side for GW8?

    Foster, Elliot
    Otamendi, Daniels, Simpson, Cedric, Mariappa
    Alli, Mkhi, Salah, Richarlison, Carroll
    Kane, Lukaku, Rodriguez

    Would end up something like:

    4.5, Elliot
    Davies, Azi, Simpson, 4.5, Mbemba
    Alli, Salah, Ritchie, Richarlison, Carroll
    Kane, Morata, Vardy

Would then just need to decide on a punt for GW7

I am, but Niasse has only done well this week and don't want another Joselu on my hands, may eat my words with that but Okazaki has some awesome underlying stats and reminds me of Hernandez, always in a tap-in position. Calvert Lewin, as well I haven't seen enough out of him but I might be wrong. Okazaki does look like a good differential to me though

You could save but I would be tempted by Firmino to Vardy.

      Did you sell Lukaku?

The armband is somehow not moving from Harry Kane despite Palace at home being the easier fixture for United and Kaku.

I'm with you out of necessity not choice. If I had Lukaku I would captain him.

Hmm, Kane just looks hungry and ready now. The braces are adding up. Everton Dortmund West Ham. Sure, only 2 in the league so far and I've only owned him from GW3, so I'm not that bitter.

Wasn't really that good against wham. Super happy as I had him as cap, but he wasn't quite up for it for most of the match imo

No, I wouldn't do Kun. Not sure the pitch size at the bridge favors the slick City passing where they can stretch the game. Chelsea can be compact.

True, yeah, I didn't go Kun because of the GW7 for Kaku. Kane just looked back and penalties will come too.

already been burned by trying to be a smartarse captaining kane instead of kaku in an easy home game (gw 1) never again

kaku fails and kane does well u still gain ground, however kane failing and kaku doing well..

I still own both though. The damage is not as much. So many in my ML are without Kane.

i have both too, and i usually never captain kaku but i rekcon this game screams a monster haul

Kane (c) for me but only because I don't own Lukaku. Big Rom looks the safest choice.
