Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

    Any ideas for this team?

    Foster (Elliot)
    Cedric, Davies, Kolasinac (Mariappa, Long)
    Ritchie, Mkhi, Ramsey, Salah (Carroll)
    Kane, Lukaku, Chicharito

    2 FT, 1.1 ITB

Shame you can't do chic to Vardy without taking a hit

Don't mind taking a -4 if I can get the right players in.

I'd be tempted to do Chic > Vardy and Kolasinac to Monreal, Otamendi or Phil Jones

      Ramsey to Silva
      Chic to someone cheaper.

Or Ramsey & salah to Silva & cout

I'd drop Ramsey and Chicharito to LoftusCheek and Morata if the cash works out. Not sure if that'd leave cash but you could get a better defender for a -4. I think Morata could keep pace for the Golden boot.

      1. ZakAFC_

That would work without the -4. But midfield might be too weak.

Coutinho is cheaper and a better player than Salah, and will Salah start with Coutinho and Mane back?

Other option i Mane.. who is the pick of the 3 at pool if you had to choose one?

      1. We Will Klopp you
        9 years, 1 month ago

Salah is key to the way we play so definitely yes, it will be coutinho in the midfield 3 and Salah, Firmino, Mane up top.

Salah has returned in every full game he's played, he's fantasy gold

      2. MKHIBRADODO

Coutinho, Salah is a rotation risk if Lallana is returned.

      4. Fingerspitzengefühl

Salah will start regardless, unless he's being rested for something else. And just keep Salah, steady flow of points, what more could you ask for?

I think it is. Liverpool have a hectic schedule and they will face rotation. Coutinho is 0.4m cheaper and will hoover up the bonus. Salah will score more goals but I think Coutinho will get more points and 0.4m is a lot on what is basically a coin toss.

      1. Four Letter Wirtz
        9 years, 1 month ago

Not worth spending and FT, imo.

On points alone, I'd say Salah is better. What is tempting about Coutinho is that, at 4% ownership, his price rise potential is huge.

    8. Shota Coco
      9 years, 1 month ago

I can see the logic if you're desperate for cash. Coutinho is much better player than Salah and will probably get more PL minutes between now and the end of the season than him. The BPS factor could give him a higher points total too if Cout's output keeps pace with Salah's

    9. Fanta sea
      9 years, 1 month ago

Salah is getting things done. I don't think Coutinho will rise too much in value as Coutinho is prone to alot of 2 point gameweeks.

Every game I've watched Liverpool, Salah always has a great goal scoring chance. Salah will get points and we'll worry about rotation risk later on.

Problem for me is Coutinho plays too deep which means the likelihood of goals is lower (unless he scores one of those curling shots from outside the area)

      Personally Salah over Coutinho.

Did Kane & J.Rod to Aguero (c) & Abraham as my 2 FTs

Think ill wildcard for the break.

Is Aguero straight back to Kane a decent move for the one week since my team has no other problems?

Would never usually consider such a short sighted transfer but does the fact ill most likely wildcard straight after mean its all good?

    4. Four Letter Wirtz

The problem is that he's yet another addition to an already big pool of players who might play in attacking positions for Everton: Up top a maximum of 2 out of Rooney, C-L, Sandro, and Niasse, and then Siggy, and Klaasen just behind. Pretty crowded.

Having said that, I bought C-L last week...

Playing my WC now and the questions I have are

Q1) Is Femenia nailed and if not who is the best of the 4.5 Watford options?

Q2) Is it worth sacrificing a midfielder slot so I can afford Phil Jones? It's basically A) Atsu & 4.5 def (Morgan?) or B) Jones & 4.4 mid.

Posted below. Thinking of moving Alonso onto allow for Silva upgrade in mid. Next move looks like Davies > otamendi if Davies isn't guaranteeing starts and city keep blowing teams away. Ota also looks a goal threat every game. Kos also loves to bomb forward at 6m

    2. Ricochet

I did it last night, just not sure if I'm going to do Mkhi -> Silva as well. Unfortunately I can't wait til next week, it's now or never.

I meant the next fixture. I know long term Silva has better

    4. Shota Coco
      9 years, 1 month ago

Yep but I think Mkhitaryan will keep pace with Silva despite upcoming Man Utd fixtures.

    Alonso & Firmino to
    Fernandez & Aguero for a -4?

Make something else up if you're any good at the game. It's either tonight or I'm priced out. Team if interested.....
    Foster
    Alonso -- Jones -- Bavies -- Schindler
    Eriksen -- Silva -- Mkhitaryan
    Lukaku -- Morata -- Firmino

    Subs -- Elliott / LoftusCheek / T Carroll / 4.0

Aguero vs Chelsea seems a bit weird.

I've got a feeling City will beat Chelsea and dominate the league. Firmino is just annoying me as he doesn't look very sharp.

Not worth a hit this week imo.

Not worth the hit this week I agree, if you can wait, wait

If you are going to do it do it tonight before Firminho falls. Looks good to me.

    Fabianski
    Jones Davies Naughton (Clark Rosenoir)
    Silva Mkhi Salah Brady (Chalobah)
    Aguero Kane Vardy

Anything that you don't like or lacks potential in this team? Would be scouting replacements over gw7

    1. Shota Coco

I'm not a Brady or Burnley attack fan but it looks fine.

Cheers, will scout 5.5-5.7 ers this gw, Choupo for his better fixtures after City and Gross will be watched, might leave him for now as he's returning well for a 5.5er (Brady that is)

    Any ideas on this lot?

    Foster Elliot
    Daniels Cedric Davies Suttner Long
    Salah Mkhi Ritchie Carroll Carrick
    Aguero Lukaku Kane

    1 FT, 0 in bank

80% WC in GW8 depending on midweek injuries

    Cheers.

Nah, looks good for next gw, would have said Jones in but he's already risen

    2. OldBenKenobi

3 big hitters really do compromise the rest of team don't they. Id say your close to a WC for sure. Defence needs tidying a bit

I honestly don't see anything worth doing.

Not really willing to give someone who's far better at this game than I advice, but I would say if you're going to WC in GW8 then maybe Aguero to Firmino (or Vardy butfor a week. Can tidy defence on WC (Daniels, Suttner, Long, Carrick, etc.)

Dunno if you saw this earlier:
      MCI: che -172
      LIV: new 118
      LEI: bou 234
      MUN: CPL 401
      ARS: BRI 410
      EVE: BUR 452

      Hope that helps πŸ™‚

Very weak defence, but thats not really problem as the cheap ones do pretty good compared to the priced ones. But as you got kane, lukaku and aguero there isnt much money for anyone else πŸ™‚

But ritchie looked really really REEEEEEEEEEALLY poor today and the one maybe worth having at newcastle is atsu in my opinion (i highly REGRET taking ritchie over atsu on my wildcard, but mostly due to the fact that i cant get morata for just 2 transfers......).

Btw, I tried to post in the LMS thread to see if im still in it or if im out (is there an own thread for that competition?)

Can you say if i have failed the last gameweeks as i had some weak rounds before this one.

      GW3: 57
      GW4: 47
      GW5: 59
      GW6: 69

      sorry for the off-topic πŸ™‚

Okay, I'm on 52 atm, current LMS safety score is 45. I have no players left and no points to come off the bench. Should I be fine?
