Sunday’s solitary fixture gets underway at 4pm as promoted pair Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United square up at the Amex Stadium.

With many now filling their forward lines with premium frontman, we get the chance to run the rule over a trio of budget midfielders today.

The Seagulls’ Pascal Gross has played a part in all four of his side’s goals so far, serving up two goals and a pair of assists in his last two outings.

He was the second top transfer target for Gameweek 6, with over 381,000 transfers in.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie has bagged four assists in his previous three, while Christian Atsu’s goal and assist over his last two starts has also turned heads.

Indeed Ritchie and Atsu, along with team-mates Jamaal Lascelles and Chancel Mbemba have been subject to heavy investment over the last week, with a combined 783,000+ transfers in.

Newcastle number one Rob Elliot is the most owned player for Sunday’s clash, sitting in 23.7% of squads after conceding just once in his previous three. Yet he is the most benched player in the Gameweek, with over 808,000 naming him among their subs.

Best league in the world some say (haha)
Most competitive league in the world most say (probably)
A league who's teams are competing against the best of Europe (definitley not)

This is a fairly common serving in BPL and what Sky have been showing most Sundays and it's fairly dull, a bit like watching to aged boxers trying to summon the energy for a punch while plodding round the ring surrounded by glamourous ladies with pompoms.
Don't believe the hype - just enjoy the fantasy.

To be fair Sky have managed to pick some of the worst games this season. Nothing wrong with the quality of football yesterday.

This season we can watch Liverpool, Spurs & Man City to be entertained.
Chelsea, ManU, Watford are having a reasonavle stab at it.
        6 out of 20 - there's just a lot of dross.
Don't get me wrong, I love the fantasy aspect and it is a competive competition but highlights are generally doing it for me - few live games are entertaining.

For me it is the best league in the world because it is competitive. I don't like watching Barcelona roll over Girona and the rest of the league. We genuinely have 6 teams who can compete with each other at the top of the league and numerous others who don't roll over when they are facing the big boys.

I honestly thing that when the old adage of it being the best league is because it is the most competitive. And there is no doubt it is the most competitive of the big leagues. PL teams have also won four Champions Leagues so it's not that bad. But it's true we don't have the best teams in Europe. I don't think anyone could argue that either.

I would split the definition between 'best' and 'most competitive'. The answer to best is almost impossible to answer in fairness but I reckon you would have to at present its La Liga if pushed to answer.

    Elliot (Krul)
    Mendy Kolasinac Jones (Mee, Lascelles)
    Salah Silva Ritchie Gross (Chalobah)
    Kane Aguero Vardy

    0.3 itb, 1FT

    1) Keep or transfer Mendy?
    2) Aguero -> Lukaku?
    3) Keep FT?

For now yes, Spurs and United in the next 3, he isn't reknowned for doing well in big fixtures, price drop imminent (those 0.1ms always come back to bite for those who say it doesn't matter). Not completing matches, Studge lurking & his obvious replacement Vardy has a great fixture

I've made £1.5m profit in the transfer market (dunno how tbh lol) so he can drop £0.1m or even more, still not gonna shift him anytime before the Newcastle game...

He has several players going down in value - Jags, Danilo, Jesus, William, Jese, Cedric
He's not going to be very happy when he gets his old team back 🙂
