The headline news this morning is that Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero has been involved in a car accident and is expected to face a period on the sidelines with fractured ribs.

Aguero has returned to Manchester to be assessed, with City boss Pep Guardiola set to provide an update on his condition in today’s lunchtime press conference, amid fears that Aguero could be out for up to three months.

Certainly, the City boss doesn’t have his problems to seek after Benjamin Mendy was ruled out for the foreseeable future having sustained knee ligament damage during the 5-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The hosts will be without the suspended David Luiz for the Saturday evening showdown.

Danny Williams (foot), Steve Mounie (knock) and Collin Quaner (calf) all remain out for Huddersfield Town’s home fixture against Tottenham Hotspur. Manager David Wagner is optimistic that Mounie will be back in contention for the Gameweek 8 clash against Swansea.

Spurs make their way to John Smith’s Stadium with Christian Eriksen back in contention. The Dane returned to training yesterday, having recovered from the illness that forced him to miss the midweek trip to Cyprus.

Harry Arter is expected to sit out Bournemouth’s home fixture against Leicester City, while fellow midfielder Dan Gosling has also emerged as a doubt.

Jamie Vardy is dealing with a hip problem, but trained for the first time this week on Thursday, and is expected to start against the Cherries.

Michael Carrick will miss Manchester United’s home meeting with Crystal Palace, while Phil Jones and Marouane Fellaini are both major doubts. Anthony Martial could shake off a knock to be involved at Old Trafford.

Mark Hughes will have Kurt Zouma available for the home clash against Southampton after the defender was ineligible to face parent club Chelsea last weekend. The Potters boss is optimistic on Geoff Cameron’s chances of recovering from a hamstring problem, though Kevin Wimmer is unlikely to be risked as he nurses a similar complaint.

Virgil van Dijk should come under strong consideration for a first start of the season when Southampton travel to the bet365 Stadium.

Oliver Burke and Nacer Chadli are both lacking match fitness, and aren’t expected to feature for West Bromwich Albion against Watford.

Hornets defender Miguel Britos returns from suspension for the trip to the Hawthorns, but Nathaniel Chalobah faces a long spell on the sidelines due to a knee injury.

Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio are both available for West Ham United’s home encounter against Swansea City, but Pedro Obiang remains out.

Swansea head coach Paul Clement has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to the London Stadium, with Ki Sung-yeung and Nathan Dyer both still unavailable as they continue to build up their match fitness with the U23s.

Chris Hughton will be without the suspended Tomer Hemed for the trip to Arsenal, after the FA upheld a charge of violent conduct.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this tomorrow’s 11.30am deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

So, I am debating the following two moves with 1.6m in the bank and 2FT

    A) Forster to a 4.5 and then Ritchie to Sterling
    B) Either Naughton or Schindler to Mbemba and then Ritchie to Sterling.
    C) Neither

Any help would be much appreciated!

Huddlesfield fixtures arent fab. Stirling is rotation risk, but might be worth it. There are plenty of valid 4.5GK so your choice

    Aguero out for
    A. Morata
    B. Jesus (got Silva already)
    C. Lacazatte
    D. Kane and subbing Eriksen off too for 8.7m mid for a hit

      Assuming Jones is out:

      A) Play Mbemba vs LIV
      B) Take a -4 to replace Jones with Cresswell and play Cresswell vs SWA

right I've commited, too late to turn back now, free hit chip activated
what are your thoughts on this as a 1 week team:

      foster
      cedric, davies, trippier, martina
      ramsey, mkhi, salah
      lukaku, kane, lacazette

martina a gamble but more likely for CS than any other 4.5 def unless anyone has a suggestion?

Waste of chip imo.. but looks good now that you have done it. Personally I would play Creswell over Cedric on the FHC because of homeadvantage. He is also a bigger attacking threat

I know its a gamble and I may regret it, but they way my tema was looking I essentially had 3 blanks and there are a few teams playing this week that may score big and I had minimal representation (spurs, man u, arsenal). I know the rest of my ML will score pretty low this week so could make good gains

Played my WC, opinions would be hugely appreciated!

      Foster (Elliot)
      Davies, Cedric, Otamendi (Mbemba, hunemeister)
      Mane, Mykhitarian, Ritchie, Brady (King)
      Kane, Jesus, Morata

      0.0 itb

Was tempted to do Eriksen/Lukaku over Mykhitarian/Kane but unsure!

      Cheers in advance.

I would get sane or sterling over mkhi after this GW and unless you plan on playing mbemba or brady every gw would get a better defence
in fact I would downgrade brady to a 4.5 and use that money to upgrade mbemba and hune

Are people going to double or treble up on Chelsea assets from GW8 onwards when their fixtures turn lush?

What's the best combo of assets? I think it'll be hard to get both Morata & Hazard in the team so may just stick with Morata and double up DF.

          What 3 Chelsea have you?

I sold Willian this week with his output being so bad and Hazard being fit again.
Morata D.Luiz & Azpi maybe the combo I will go with

Had Alonso and Morata, sold Mendy and got Azpi.

I would like to get rid of Aguero now before any price drop but I have a problem as I activated my Free Hit this GW. As we all know after Free Hit GW my team goes back to the original team (before Free Hit activated). This would mean I can only do transfers the GW after right? I just hope Aguero's price doesn't drop much.

          A) Aguero out, Jesus in. 1.5 in the bank.
          B) Aguero, Rooney out. Kane, Wood/Gray in. -4 pts. 0.2 in the bank.

Merits in both courses. Answer might depend on how happy you are with the rest of your squad/how much of a boost the extra 1.5 accompanying option A would be. Jesus is going to be solid, and Kun's absence should be a boost to him. On the other hand, I believe managers who don't own Kane will regret it. Also City's goals (which will be many) will be shared, so long term I think Kane is a significantly better pick than Jesus. I have actually been looking for mid-6/under striker I would be willing to make my third, and it just might be Wood.

Is it a good idea to hedge my bets more by moving from
          Alli & Firmino -> Silva & Morata
If I've currently got no Man City or Chelsea and I've got Davies, Kane and Salah.

I like the move, and not simply as a "hedge" (although it is that). Morata looks the real deal, and Silva has been brilliant (and a great value route into the terrifying City attack). Firmino has been underwhelming of late, and lots of other firepower in that 'Pool side competing for attacking points. Hard to give up Alli, but on balance, and with the other names in your squad, I'd pull the trigger.
