Let me just start this article with reminding you that the deadline is earlier this week due to the Thursday evening kick-off, so there is just a few hours to go before you can finalise your team.  This set of fixtures is also special as it is the second double Gameweek of the season.

Double Gameweek Prospects

Haugesund

Haugesund face out-of-form Vålerenga away, before taking on Sandefjord at home. There could definitely be some goals and even a clean sheet or two here for their assets.

The obvious picks from Haugesund are top scoring goalkeeper Bråtveit and Stølås, the third highest scoring defender. Both have 100+ points. Skjerve and Knudsen are also decent picks with 4.3 PPG, compared to Stølås’ 4.5 PPG. A real punt would be Andreassen, who is back from injury and starting as a left midfielder.

There are some cheap picks from Haugesund’s midfield, but none are standouts. Leite is the top scoring midfielder and although he is not getting many attacking returns his 13 bonus points over the season is worth a note. Trondstad is also nailed on, but having blanked all season he’s not an exciting pick at all. If you want to take a punt on a Haugesund midfielder, Serafin is the guy you want to pick. He’s been solid after he arrived in the summer and will be moved up as a forward or attacking midfielder against Vålerenga.

Up front only Abdi is expected to start the first game. He’s done alright this season, but again not an exicting pick with 3.5 PPG.

Vålerenga

Vålerenga have two great fixtures, against Haugesund and Aalesund at home. While out of form they are still   favourites to win both matches.

Kwarasey has 3.6 PPG since arriving in the summer and if you’re in need of a keeper he could be worth a punt.

Jonatan Tollås Nation is the standout pick from the defence with 3.7 PPG, but 5.9 for a Vålerenga defender is expensive. There’s also the attacking full back Lundström at 5.4 and budget option Jääger at 4.9.

Vålerenga’s midfield is more interesting. There are no standout options after Zahid left, but there is value to be found, even if their midfield looks far from settled and prone to rotation.

Samuel Fridjonsson is probably the most exciting centre of the park pick. After struggling with injuries all season, he’s now started the last three games in an attacking role and is available at 4.6. Watch out for the lineups before transfering him in though as he played 90 minutes for Iceland U21s on Tuesday.

Another midfield punt is Ejuke. He’s started four of the last five in an attacking role and is available at 5.2. If you want a nailed on player there is always Christian Grindheim, but he’s not a good Fantasy option in my opinion. He bagged two goals last Gameweek, but I can’t see that happening again.

Up front Herik Kjeldsrud Johansen has started the last four and could also be worth a punt. He should have a decent chance of starting both, but is not 100% nailed on. Bård Finne is back in the squad and could get a starting spot, but I’m not sure he’s worth a punt at that price. Azemi is also in the squad, although there are question marks over his fitness.

In summary, there are few standout picks among Vålerenga’s charges, but quite a few punts available.

Injury News

Omoijuanfo is ruled out for a few weeks and will have to be replaced.

Fredrik Haugen is a doubt for Brann, but is hoping to be fit for Sunday.

Acosta and Wormgoor should be back for Brann.

Bråtveit picked up a knock for Haugesund, but is still expected to start.

Andreassen should also be back for Haugesund.

Fridjonsson will have a late test for Vålerenga after playing for Iceland U21 two days ahead of the first DGW match, while Finne is back in contention.

Because of the double Gameweek match the deadline is two-three days ahead of the other games this week, so we won’t have accurate updates for many of them.

Suspensions

Nguen (Strømsgodset), Rosted (Sarpsborg), Jenkins (Viking), Green (Viking), Solberg Olsen (Sandefjord), Berntsen (Vålerenga), Baranov (Kristiansund)

Could make 100 points for the first time this season. On 86 and surely at least 3 bonus for Ejuke, with Diatta to go.

Shame that Melgalvis and Sigurdarson didn't show up, and that Stølås penalty miss..

        Wow.... this league is tough...

I had a dreadfull round really, 43 with Diatta, Mortensen and Gregersen to go.... Stølås ultimate troll and I didn't go for the Vålerenga attacking options.....

Well done. Century for me too if I get a return from Diatta or Mortensen. Think I've leapfrogged a few ghost teams, 18k to 6k 😀

No Sigudarsson or Haugen ? Bench headaches all week , now worried I won't get 11 out!

    What happened to Melgalvis?

    And Hedenstad yesterday ?

Hedenstad had a bad game and was simply rested. He'll definitely start the next match. It's more difficult to tell what will happen when Rosenborg have won the league.

I'm so sick of captains not delivering. At least Stølås found a way to disappoint while still getting a CS for the rest of my Haugesund players.

I'll just leave the captaincy on Bendtner for the rest of the season.

Boy was I wrong to go Fidjonson over Ejuke...
To be fair had I waited a bit on the transfer I would have been aware that he played the U21 match and gotten the other one. Serves me right I guess. 38 points and time to play my wildcard.

51 with Gjertsen (2pt) to come off the bench and Diatta left to play.

Picked the right captain in Kwarasey, score will probably be above average and I was a bit unlucky with a couple of moves but not as good as I'd hoped.

No Vålerenga midfield or attack. Took Fridjonsson out upon team news but Leite was the worst possible replacement and he'll need to go straight away.

Got Ohi in early on wildcard but after injury I brought Sigurdarson back in at increased value. Wasn't playing Haugen this week so probably should've got Adegbenro.

Stokke is the worst, he will never score when he's in my lineup.

Haugen 1st sub didn't play, so I'll get Ruud with 2 points and Norbye with 0 point. Underwhelming. I'm actually on 98 points but I guess Diatta will get 2-3 bonus points and I'll get Ruud's two points of the bench to make it 100.

Diatta making sure I survive another round in the cup as long as Brochmann keeps quiet.

Probably a good idea to release one of my two Haugesund defenders before the next to GWs. Who is the best replacement? Vilsvik?

I can sell either Skjerve for 5.1 or Stølås for 5.9. I imagine a lot of you are in similar situations.

    1. MTPockets
      8 years, 9 months ago

Don't think there are many good def fixtures next week.
To hold to the end I'm looking at Hedenstad or maybe Solberg/S08.

      1. Essem
        • 9 Years

Maybe I should just keep my defence as it is and do Rashani-->Jradi. At least I have som goal threat in defence even though I can't hope for any clean sheets.

        1. MTPockets
          8 years, 9 months ago

Not sure. I might sell Melgalvis rather than fkh/vif.

Rashani has the fixture on paper but he & Odd don't score very many. Think Jradi's one of the most skillful players in the league. SIF hadn't been good away but improved recently. I'm certainly keeping Andersen.

    I did Rolantsson → Vilsvik

Strömgodset have good form, might fight for a top three finish and have decent fixtures albeit only two home games. Vilsvik has almost 2 key passes per game at last six (11/6) and isn't the costliest option. Furthermore Märklin wrote in his article that ”Vilsvik is not yet up to old form Fantasy-wise” so here's hoping that he finds it in the remaining games!

Now this. Rolantsson (and Haugen & Skaanes) is back according to Bergens Tidende. Of well... ... Bendtner's (C) better score a brace then!

Lots of news coming up right now via

    https://twitter.com/ESNFantasy

    For example about Haugen:

"Det meste tyder på at han er tilbake fra start, trente i hvert fall for fullt torsdag. Men ikke bankers."

Mostly, he suggests he is back from start, training at least on Thursday, but not bankers.

Cheers, will bring in a defender then as both Haugen and BBS seems to play. Between Bendtner, Haugen and BBS for captain, then.
