Let me just start this article with reminding you that the deadline is earlier this week due to the Thursday evening kick-off, so there is just a few hours to go before you can finalise your team.  This set of fixtures is also special as it is the second double Gameweek of the season.

Double Gameweek Prospects

Haugesund

Haugesund face out-of-form Vålerenga away, before taking on Sandefjord at home. There could definitely be some goals and even a clean sheet or two here for their assets.

The obvious picks from Haugesund are top scoring goalkeeper Bråtveit and Stølås, the third highest scoring defender. Both have 100+ points. Skjerve and Knudsen are also decent picks with 4.3 PPG, compared to Stølås’ 4.5 PPG. A real punt would be Andreassen, who is back from injury and starting as a left midfielder.

There are some cheap picks from Haugesund’s midfield, but none are standouts. Leite is the top scoring midfielder and although he is not getting many attacking returns his 13 bonus points over the season is worth a note. Trondstad is also nailed on, but having blanked all season he’s not an exciting pick at all. If you want to take a punt on a Haugesund midfielder, Serafin is the guy you want to pick. He’s been solid after he arrived in the summer and will be moved up as a forward or attacking midfielder against Vålerenga.

Up front only Abdi is expected to start the first game. He’s done alright this season, but again not an exicting pick with 3.5 PPG.

Vålerenga

Vålerenga have two great fixtures, against Haugesund and Aalesund at home. While out of form they are still   favourites to win both matches.

Kwarasey has 3.6 PPG since arriving in the summer and if you’re in need of a keeper he could be worth a punt.

Jonatan Tollås Nation is the standout pick from the defence with 3.7 PPG, but 5.9 for a Vålerenga defender is expensive. There’s also the attacking full back Lundström at 5.4 and budget option Jääger at 4.9.

Vålerenga’s midfield is more interesting. There are no standout options after Zahid left, but there is value to be found, even if their midfield looks far from settled and prone to rotation.

Samuel Fridjonsson is probably the most exciting centre of the park pick. After struggling with injuries all season, he’s now started the last three games in an attacking role and is available at 4.6. Watch out for the lineups before transfering him in though as he played 90 minutes for Iceland U21s on Tuesday.

Another midfield punt is Ejuke. He’s started four of the last five in an attacking role and is available at 5.2. If you want a nailed on player there is always Christian Grindheim, but he’s not a good Fantasy option in my opinion. He bagged two goals last Gameweek, but I can’t see that happening again.

Up front Herik Kjeldsrud Johansen has started the last four and could also be worth a punt. He should have a decent chance of starting both, but is not 100% nailed on. Bård Finne is back in the squad and could get a starting spot, but I’m not sure he’s worth a punt at that price. Azemi is also in the squad, although there are question marks over his fitness.

In summary, there are few standout picks among Vålerenga’s charges, but quite a few punts available.

Injury News

Omoijuanfo is ruled out for a few weeks and will have to be replaced.

Fredrik Haugen is a doubt for Brann, but is hoping to be fit for Sunday.

Acosta and Wormgoor should be back for Brann.

Bråtveit picked up a knock for Haugesund, but is still expected to start.

Andreassen should also be back for Haugesund.

Fridjonsson will have a late test for Vålerenga after playing for Iceland U21 two days ahead of the first DGW match, while Finne is back in contention.

Because of the double Gameweek match the deadline is two-three days ahead of the other games this week, so we won’t have accurate updates for many of them.

Suspensions

Nguen (Strømsgodset), Rosted (Sarpsborg), Jenkins (Viking), Green (Viking), Solberg Olsen (Sandefjord), Berntsen (Vålerenga), Baranov (Kristiansund)

Cheers, will bring in a defender then as both Haugen and BBS seems to play. Between Bendtner, Haugen and BBS for captain, then.

Which defender to get for the run in?

    A) Remmer
    B) Rosted
    C) Grøgaard

Of those I'd say Grøgaard. Reasoning is that in the final games desperation will create a lot of chances, so better to have defenders with some forward contribution and rather spend money on attacking options in general.

Rosted. But agree with mrklin about defenders in general - leaving my def unchanged now and focusing on mids/fwds.

Forgot the deadline. Set up the team for this GW right after the DGW deadline so I put my Vålerenga players on the bench thinking I wouldn't need them after the DGW. Got to laugh.

Yeah but if you cast your mind back to the time of GW25 deadline we weren't even sure if we should back a Vålerenga attacker for the DGW. So right after that deadline I benched Stengel thinking he wasn't nailed and Jaager because I felt I had better defenders in my squad.

I was going to put both in the starting XI and make Bendtner my captain yesterday but forgot the deadline because of PL. Now watch Bendtner get a hat-trick 🙁

Wow, Sigurdarson played with an orange flag and Haugen starts with a red flag!

Forgot the deadline, one of them may have been on the way out. They really need to sort out the flags next season, they've been a bit misleading.

The problem is that they are relying on clubs to flag their injuries, and clubs in Norway never really bother with releasing news about injuries.

Haugen was declared fit a few days ago, posted on the last page that he was likely to play.

Not sure why he was red flagged though, I think he got the flag after he missed last game. He was never likely to miss out this GW, so it's really odd.

                Sigurdarson was a big doubt.

To be fair the biggest results were against Aalesund & Viking. But their final 4 games aren't the worst either.

I think they just hit form, started to play Stengel again and found some new belief with a new stadium and everything.
It bothers me a bit that they scored 7 goals and my players (Henrik Johansen and Ejuke) both blanked. Maybe I have the wrong players..

Juklerød isn't OOP, it was more a case of him being reverse OOP earlier in the season.

Was really tempted to get him in when I saw him starting the first DGW game as he has a great shot on him, but went with Ejuke as he was a bit cheaper and more nailed to play an attacking role. Not a massive difference in the DGW, but could have made a big difference this GW.

I’ve been so desperate for Stengel to get a run of starts for months now. He’s easily our best midfielder and I couldn’t believe he wasn’t getting a game. Not a big surprise we start playing well and scoring the moment he’s back in the starting XI.

New stadium has been a lift for sure but let’s be honest we had been underperforming the whole season. Don’t forget we were scoring for fun in pre season and the experts had us finishing top 3. So it’s more a case of us finally adjusting to the loss of Zahid and the absence of Moa rather than the goals coming out of nothing.

Don't think I can add more than Team Cruel have already written. He has way more knowledge about Vålerenga than me.

Just remember Aalesund and Viking are probably the worst teams in Eliteserien right now, while Haugesund have not been good at all lately. They got decent fixtures in the run in as well, but wouldn't go all out to get their players.

I might sell Johansen if a decent alternative pops up, but Ejuke definitely staying for the season. Not decided on Tollås Nation yet, the plan was getting a RBK defender but I'm now maxed out with Adegbenro, Helland and Bendtner.

Rosenborg finishing up with Stabæk, Aalesund, Viking and Odd, if they get their points and win the league vs. Stabæk you might see some resting of players though, look for Levi to step in with a few starts in the close of the season...

Early thoughts on the run in:

Rosenborg have easy fixtures, so I guess three of them is essential. They will most likely wrap up the league next weekend, so there could be a fair bit of rotation for the last three gameweeks with the team focusing on the Europa League.

Strømsgodset have been doing well lately and have a good run-in. They're making a late push for third in the league. In Norway second and third place means way more than in the PL, we are referring to it as silver and bronze. Jradi, Ulland Andersen, Pedersen, Glesnes and Vilsvik all good options. I'll probably spend my transfers getting in one or two of them.

Tromsø are fighting to avoid relegation, have decent form and good fixtures. Lehne Olsen is a great pick, and despite having a disappointing DGW Åsen is still a decent pick as well.

Damnit, played Hussain over Anderson. Second penalty miss from my team in two weeks! Also paying the rank penalty for last minute punt on BBS captain over lord.

Well done. Shame Rossbach didn't save the other penalty (hit the post), but can't be to greedy when I got a CS on my two Odd players.

69 points + 4 points coming of the bench. Reading the updates it seems like Rossbach had a good game, so wouldn't be surprised to see a bonus point or two. Currently 61 overall before auto subs and bonus, but only eight in FFS league.

3 bonus for Hussain and 1 for Rossbach. No one has 2 bonus, should probably be Origi?

74 points all out. 59 overall.

I do really regret a few decision, like not captaining Bendtner a few weeks ago when I should have. It's something I normally would do. Also benched Adegbenro and Rolantsson for big hauls when I really shouldn't have benched them. I guess that happens for everyone, but so small margins from being right up there.

Hussain getting 3 bonus must be joke of the season.... 0 goals, 0 assists, missed penalty..... I would accept preferance to a defensive option over the goalscorer in a 1-0 game, but THIS... no, just no...

Why? Was probably the best player on the pitch. Not like FPL where you have to score.

                        Didn't see the game though.

Didn't see all of it either, but what I did see suggests this is far out there.... Rashani had and created more chances, Origi had more saves in total (and if I'm reading this right he actually saved his penalty vs. just a missed one, didn't see that though). I'm all for defensive contribution counting for more in a 1-0 game, but missing a penalty, that's just auto-disqualification from top honors in my book....

Finally made it to the top 1000, exactly #1000 to be presise. There is a 50 point gap up to top 200, so I'll be conservative but believe I should make top 500 this season, goal set, let's rip.

Part of 13 leagues (pluss another 4 if you include the built-in leagues but excluding total) top of 5 of them and 2nd in another 2, and that means there is a brutal level in the other 6 leagues I'm part of (including you guys). Way to keep a guy on his toes.

Good luck in the final games, where are you at and what are your goals?

Team currently stands at this after Fridjonsson became Jradi. No FT left but could take a hit to replace Melgalvis if he will not play in the next two matches.
                            Bratveit ( Rossbach)
                            Hedenstad Melgalvis Rosted (Seck Stolas)
                            Adegbenro Diatta Jradi Andersen (Rashani)
                            Bendtner Mortensen Stokke
Sitting at 7k at the moment so just into the top 10%. No idea who to captain or who to play in goal so comments appreciated.

Looks good. I wouldn't take a hit. RBK/SIF/S08/Stokke all decent captain options - Bendtner personally. Would play Bratveit although Brann looked quite attacking from the highlights despite losing 0-3:

Don't think you can make a "wrong" choice in goal with those 2 in the closing, except for Rossbach playing Rosenborg in final GW. Great choices.

Defence, Melgalvis put my article to shame, I'd say get rid if no other transfer is needed. Seck is a dud but can get the odd cleansheet...

Midfield is pretty solid, a tough choice to double on Strømsgodsset, but their form suggests it's not a bad idea. Rashani can be upgraded to Hussain for a FT later.

Up top, Mortensen has been Ice-cold, I just shipped him out myself as he doesn't look to come back into it. Marcus Pedersen (although that would be a tripple-up) or Thomas Lehne-Olsen look promising. Frank Boli an outside choice. I'd rather look to improve there than in the back...

Could be worth having 2FT as Rosenborg will most likely rotate heavily after they wrap up the league this weekend. On the other hand I would like to get another SIF player.

Depends on the rest of your team, but A looks nice. Pedersen has bettered somewhat, but... I don't know, BBS to Pedersen feels kind of wrong. Worth a punt, as BBS seems to be out of form

Yes, but as you say Pedersen is still kind of meh and BBS can still do well.

Defensive move is just so boring, clean sheets are pretty random in this game. Wanted a RBK defender, but no space.

Pedersen's a decent shout, but not sure he trumps BBS beyond GW27. Sort of the same thing for SIF defence, although Odd's finale of vif/RBK certainly worse. Probably A or C if had to pick.

I think SIF has good fixtures. Sogndal and Brann at home. Brann haven't been good second half of the season. although they did play better against Rosenborg. Haugesund and Aalesund away, neither have been in good form. SIF on the other hand is probably the most in form team right now.

But defensive move isn't very inspiring, so I'm not sure what to do.

It's difficult going forward because (imo) most of the better teams now share home/away rotation.

I thought FKH form might be skewed by the dgw away fixture (they now have 3/4 home games - opposite to Stabæk), but seems you're right that not great at home recently.

Have a similar issue to you. Would like to upgrade Abdi but don't want to bench a mid this week. Which means either selling/benching BBS. Alternatively upgrading defence but nobody appeals yet due to H/A switch next week.

Yeah, I would like to take a punt on Lehne Olsen for Johansen but don't really want to bench any of my midfielders.
