Careering out of the international break at speed, the ScoutCast returns in anticipation of a turning point in our seasons.

We’ve been chattering for several weeks on the much anticipated “fixture swing”, and now we’re all set to put ourselves at its mercy.

What does it mean for our Fantasy line-ups?

In truth, with multiple transfers and Wildcards at our disposal, Jonty, Andy, Luke and myself started this latest episode still seeking our own answers. Over almost 90 minutes and with your community questions providing the steer, we do our best to reach some conclusions.

We weigh up Manchester United exit plans, Liverpool’s blunted attack and Jamie Vardy’s recuperation techniques, before previewing Gameweek 8 in the usual hap-hazard style.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I am completely torn with Jesus vs Lukaku

    A) Lukaku, Sterling, Luiz
    B) Jesus, Coutinho, Cedric

    1. MTPockets

      Really depends on Aguero.

Wow that's a tough one. MU and Pool both have tough fixtures ahead. I'd nearly go with A and reassess in GW10. Lukaku can well score against Pool and Hud and hopefully by GW10 you'll know if Kun is fully fit and firing and Lukaku to Kun is a straight swap then

I have this gut feeling that we are all concentrating far too much trying to shove City players in, espeically Jesus for Kun to come back and dominate

I brought Jesus in two weeks ago so will keep faith in him until I see Kun in action again. With the uncertainty of Morata and Aguero I'm holding my WC

Who to choose out of these 3?

    A) Atsu (vs soton) 75%
    B) Carroll (vs huddersfield)
    C) Simpson (vs WBA)

    Current selection for GW8

    Elliot
    Naughton | Davies | Cedric
    Atsu | Eriksen | Silva | Sterling
    Lukaku | Kane | Chicharito

    Foster | Carroll | Simpson | Mbemba

Definitely Simpson for me. Carroll will only get two points and playing Atsu away to So'ton is counterproductive with Cedric in your team

I'm considering it only because I need the extra 0.2m. I'd go with Maguire if funds weren't the issue.

I have exact cash for Bailly to Maguire this week with the intention of Alli to Hazard next week, but any price change would leave me 0.1m out 🙁

Abraham. I think a clean sheet is more likely with at least 2 of your defensive options than him scoring.

Those with Sterling/Jesus or both. Whats your hopes from the press conference this afternoon? Those on a WC have you left enough flexibility in your team to bring Aguero back?

    1. My Name Is Prince

See below, I'm only willing to have one of them, to couple with Silva...

In which case at least Jesus is not an option for me, but he's double risen already this week so I'll at least have made 0.1m on him!! 😉

    2. MTPockets

Jesus - fingers crossed. Otherwise maybe a future Jesus/Lukaku to Morata/Aguero

  9. My Name Is Prince

    On WC:

    A) Jesus & Choupo-Moting
    B) Vardy & Sterling

I'm guessing B is the answer...

    1. zeepeee
      • 9 Years

      Definitely B

      1. My Name Is Prince

When Morata is fit, will just downgrade Sterling (have Silva) and upgrade Vardy to Morata (or that's the current thinking anyway...)

Whats the rest of your team looking like? Concern is if Vardy score 2 or 3 over the next two, could be hard to drop.

          1. My Name Is Prince
            • 13 Years
            8 years, 9 months ago

Strikers are Kane and Lukaku, not willing to drop any of them either... Anyway, Sterling needs to go soon anyway when Agu is fit again... And I just think Morata will outscore Vardy in the long run!

The way this season is playing out having that much money in attack is likely the way forward. Be interesting to see the end result of Morata vs Vardy - Morata definitely the better player, but in more competitions and thinking this hamstring injury might be re-occurent.

Personally im not a fan of having 3 premium strikers in my team as this means your def or mid will be compromised. So i would still go for B

                • 13 Years

Yeah, will see how it pans out obviously, but now will go with B and Vardy... Will try to keep 2FTs after the WC as long as possible to be able to shift the formation as needed easily with a -4 or just the 2FTs...

Should be good even with Aguero back. Jesus can be rested, Aguero playing CF and Sterling on the flank as inside forward.

    Rate my WC team.

    Fabianski (Elliot)
    Ward Otamendi Yoshida Davies Naughton
    Couthino DSilva (Choupo-Moting RLC Carroll)
    Vardy Kane Aguero

    2.3 ITB
Going to switch between 5-2-3 and 4-3-3 with Choupo as a 3. mid. Bringing in Morata for Vardy in 2 weeks time. Taking a risk on Lukaku blanking vs Liverpool and Aguero probably getting some minutes.

That was/is a possibility. At the moment I have Jesus-Kane-Lukaku, but very unsure of Jesus playtime this GW if Aguero is back. Its sensible to rest Jesus this GW for the CL on Wednesday and play Aguero if he is 90% fit.

Calvert-Lewin v Abraham on comparison tool makes for surprising reading.

CL the only player with pace in Everton side. They will never score a counterattack goal. Niasse has made friends with Ronald too.

Kop - Should have asked. Martina to continue starting? Holgate is a poor right back IMO and Koeman bought Martina out of mistrust in Hogate, am I right?

More about Holgate inexperience and building a Europe squad. Also a free tfr.
Ronald proved to me he has no clue about the Buying/selling market.

Probable starter though so if desperate with funds get Martina.

      Only as injury backup.
I would love to know why he is so out of favour. I remember him being a good keeper.
Maybe he is a party animal.

Is anyone who got rid of lukaku on wildcard contemplating getting him back instead of going with Jesus??

    Thanks

I didn't get rid and I'm keeping him, will probably sell Jesus for Vardy

Depending on what pep says about Jesus and kun I may just make a massive u turn and bring lukaku back....

At least I know he will play.. ...

Indeed, I'm opting for Kane Kaku Vardy front line... 3 x 90mins pretty much guaranteed every week...(with the occasional sub of course)... Silva and Sterling from City for me now I think...

he will probably play, positive noises from Wenger.
The issue is Watford will probably score against a weakened defence that wasn't great to start with. Best chance of points is the odd assist/header.

I cant tell you for sure, however I watched the game and it was clear Kola was struggling and had the trainers on twice in 20 mins and didn't come out for the 2nd half. That said and done he is called the tank !!!!

Eriksen & Firmino > Silva & Aguero (-4) next week gets me this:

    Foster
    Davies, Jones, Naughton, Mee
    Salah, Silva, Richarlison
    Kane, Lukaku, Aguero

    Elliot, Carroll, King, Mbemba

Or if Morata is fit get him instead of Aguero meaning I can do King > Choupo-Moting?

Wait for pressers/get rid of Eriksen after Bournemouth at home.

First Morata f**ked up all my wildcard plans and now the whole aguero situation. This has been the most stressful wildcard ever
