Fantasy managers are eagerly awaiting the afternoon press conferences with Pep Guardiola expected to provide an update on the status of Sergio Aguero, who has returned to full training following a rib injury.

This follows Aguero’s post on social media yesterday, where he declared himself “ready†to return for the visit of Stoke City.

With Aguero possibly in contention, Guardiola’s attacking options and configurations look far more difficult to predict. Today’s conference will hopefully offer more clarity on his likely squad and line-up.

For Stoke, Joe Allen is unavailable for the Etihad trip having suffered concussion that forced him off during Wales’ midweek clash with Republic of Ireland. The midfielder has missed training this week as part of the protocol surrounding the nature of the injury, with manager Mark Hughes ruling him out this morning. Defender Bruno Martins-Indi may also miss out, while skipper Ryan Shawcross continues to progress with an ongoing back muscle injury and remains sidelined. However, Jese Rodriguez is back in contention after missing the previous Gameweek for personal reasons.

Elsewhere, Liverpool will need to restructure their three-man frontline after Sadio Mane was ruled out of tomorrow’s home meeting with Manchester United due to a hamstring injury.

Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, is set to be without Marouane Fellaini, who picked up a knee injury while on international duty.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home clash against West Ham United, but Jonathan Walters remains sidelined with a knee injury.

Pedro Obiang and Edimilson Fernandes look set to be available for that trip to Turf Moor, while Manuel Lanzini could be poised for a first start of the season.

N’Golo Kante is expected to miss Chelsea’s trip to Crystal Palace due to a hamstring injury, while Antonio Conte’s press conference this afternoon will hopefully shed some light on Alvaro Morata’s similar problem.

And the Eagles are
sweating over their first-choice stopper Wayne Hennessey, who is set for scans after sustaining an injury on international duty for Wales.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement revealed that Wilfried Bony is “50/50 to start†against Huddersfield Town due to a hamstring injury, but Renato Sanches is unlikely to be available.

Midfielder Danny Williams is available for the trip to south Wales following a foot injury, while Steve Mounie has a chance of being named in the matchday squad.

Younes Kaboul remains sidelined ahead of Watford’s home meeting with Arsenal, while Sebastian Prodl is still doubtful to face the Gunners. Isaac Success has been ruled out for between six and eight weeks with a knee injury.

Arsene Wenger has a number of concerns at the back for the Vicarage Road encounter. Shkodran Mustafi will miss the trip, while Sead Kolasinac (hip) and Laurent Koscielny (achilles) will undergo fitness tests today. Mesut Ozil (knee) and Danny Welbeck (groin) are back in full training and in contention to face the Hornets.

Josh King and Ryan Fraser face late assessments on hamstring complaints as Bournemouth make their way to face Spurs at Wembley Stadium. Eddie Howe has conceded that Brad Smith is set for a stint on the sidelines after picking up “a nasty injury†on duty for Australia over the break.

For Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino looks set to be boosted by the return of both Erik Lamela and Danny Rose. Both joined full training this week although the Cherries visit will likely come too soon for the duo.

Davy Propper is expected to be fit for Brighton & Hove Albion’s home encounter against Everton, with the midfielder recovering from a hip problem suffered while on international duty.

Midfielders Matt Ritchie (thigh), Christian Atsu (knee) and Jonjo Shelvey (hand) are all minor injury concerns ahead of Newcastle United’s trip to Southampton, with Rafa Benitez set to provide an update on the trio in his press conference later today.

Wilfred Ndidi is available for the home fixture against West Bromwich Albion, while Jamie Vardy has fully recovered from a hip problem.

James Morrison, Hal Robson-Kanu and Nacer Chadli are all slight injury concerns ahead of Monday’s visit to the King Power Stadium.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this tomorrow’s 11.30am deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

RMT Please. I have been holding off on any transfers for this week now so I still have an FT and 1.3 itb.

Things bothering me: No chelsea cover VS Palace.

    Elliot
    Otamendi - Cedric - Davies
    Mkhi - Silva - Brady - Groß
    Kane - Lukaku - Lacazette

    Subs: Naughton, Carroll, Mbemba.

(Keep in mind, I would really like to climb up my mini league and I am certain 90% of them took at least a -4 or even a -8 or 12)

    A) Brady & Naughton OUT FOR Fabregas & Manquillo (Manq to be in subs) (-4)
    B) MOST OBVIOUS FROM EVERYONE'S ADVICE: Mhiki & Lacazette OUT FOR Hazard & Vardy (-4)
    C) Naughton & Lacazette OUT FOR Azlipicuetta & Vardy (-4) - It will be a 4-3-3 with Brady Benched.
    D) Leave it. Change Laca to Aguero and still have one more Free Transfer Next Week

      B. Is an obvious one but probably for a reason.

Is there any chance that Kun's injury was exaggerated to keep him out of international duty?

    1. @persecuted_by_mods
      8 years, 9 months ago

Argentina could have done with him in the squad for the vital matches so I doubt it, I think it was just reported wrong

He wouldn't have played anyway. Dybala sat both games on the bench with local player Benedetto up front.

Nonetheless, a player of Aguero's ability is useful in the squad and he would not have wanted to miss even that

I dont think that you want to be starting Doucore or a 4.5 every week - Doucoure is massively outperforming atm. I'm not sure about holding a 4.0 defender either in the wildcard. It limits you and leaves you vulnerable to rotation, especially with 3 City players and Davies as a minor risk. Personally, I'd downgrade Hazard and use the money to improve elsewhere.

I have a similar approach, only thing I'm considering is leaving 1.0m in the bank for Jesus to Aguero should he be fit for next week. Other than that - RLC, Stephens are 4.5 candidates.

Since Hazard is at such a low ownership right now, I wouldn't rush to get him in at all costs. Perhaps just leave some flexibility for an upgrade in the next few weeks.

With those fixtures I myself can't resist. Plus I look for flexibility on wildcard; he can be transferred out to any Pool/Spurs mid after their difficult matches for instance.

      1. Lazaretti
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 9 months ago

I think I take -4 hit to bring in Hazard. I am counting that Hazard + Abraham(or some other budget fwd) scores better than Firmino and Ramsey(or Willian) +4 on this GW. Hazard 1g + 1a will do it for sure...

How's this WC lookin'? 0 ITB, but I can make some by selling Alonso for Azpi and Silva for Sterling.

    Foster, Eliott

Alonso, Davies, Otamendi, Mee, Rangel(or some other bench fodder)
    Coutinho, Silva, Choupo, Brady, Romeu
    Jesus, Kane, Vardy

    Cheers

Romeu's on 4 yellow cards and close to a price drop, if that matters. I'd personally downgrade Brady to a 4.5 and upgrade Rangel and go 4-3-3, just think theres better value there.

    2. President Giggs
      • 12 Years
      8 years, 9 months ago

Agree with Badger on the Brady -> 4.5, Rangel -> 4.5 to rotate with Mee. It then might be worth doing Alonso -> Azpi so that you have the money for Jesus -> Aguero. Would also change Foster for Fabs or Gomes or something.

    3. Krafty Werks
      • 11 Years
      8 years, 9 months ago

If it was me i would be going Otamendi > Cedric, Rangel > Wimmer (playing Stoke defender to rotate nicely with Mee), Brady upgrade to Groß (rotates nicely with Choupo and can in fact play both some weeks in a 3-4-3 rather than 4-3-3 every week, also allows you to play Groß rather than Choupo GW8 with a much better fixture vs an extremely leaky Everton side), Romeu?...nah do the sensible thing and take RLC as your 5th mid.

    2. Eriksen or Hazard (for GW9)

Salah more nailed. Hope you’ve got another City mid/fw.

Hazard may need some time to play again on highest level.
While Tottenam are going to play vs. BOU and then LIV, which could easily concede a goal or two...

Hazard also has penalties and will do more goals than Eriksen in long term. I dont think Hazard needs more time he is experienced and proven top class player and he has been available more or less few weeks already. And score twice in his last game. 1. Sterling 2. Hazard

Judging by your playing history, you're about 40 mate.....I'd expect better chat from a mature player.

Your continued (and unprovoked) attempts to undermine my opinions, are poor.

but the words, in that order, made no sense.

I'm obnoxious because I'm right (usually) and provide fact to support. Not sure what your angle is, trying to get even for last year's mistakes?

so you admit you're obnoxious, glad we cleared that one up. You have a habit of rubbing everyone up the wrong way. You probably don't care but others do.

I have run ins with people E.G. Doos just now, because he chose to dismiss my opinion of Hammers' fans as scum despite, providing a personal account, a national newspaper and 2 Youtube vids as evidence.

Play safe with Davies+Eriksen+Vardy or go risky with Trippier+Hazard+Batshuayi?
I fanty Chelsea to score big vs leaky Palace.

    For next 3 at least.

New Jesus owners, how long do you plan to have him for? Simple shift out to Morata when he is back or hold Jesus for a while because he has the fixtures?

I've made 0.1 on him and pretty eager to get rid already, but their fixtures match (and probably slightly better) Chelsea's so I may hold for a few weeks.

It's just the Pep issue and knowing how limited Jesus's minutes seem to be this season compared to Aguero; which you would never have thought after what happened when he joined City and played more than Kun.

Morata for GW14 onward looks the best on paper but are people trusting Pep for that long?
