Pep sunk his teeth into our Gameweeks, while an old moggy took a chunk out of my partner’s arm, depriving me of my appearance on this week’s ScoutCast. I’m not sure which was more painful.

At the mercy of the local A&E, Jonty, Andy and Az became my other emergency service as they stepped up on this latest episode.

Inevitably, Guardiola’s Man City teamsheet dominates your questions and the ensuing chatter. Elsewhere the boys re-appraise Kane after his Wembley haul, revisit Liverpool with their fixtures about to swing and consider whether the heavy-hitting midfielders are poised for a renaissance ahead of Gameweek 10.

As far as I know, I’ve edited out all the “pussy” jokes.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Lets just say I... I mean my friend may have made a few rage transfers this week for a -12. If my friend plays his free hit chip right now does it erase those transfers made this week and after GW 10 set your team back to your GW 9 team so canceling your transfers already made this week and thus the hit points taken..? Or will it go back to the team I... er, my friend made after this weeks transfers were booked in. Asking for a friend (sort of....).

Next week when I buy Kane I'm just keeping the armband on him when he's fit. Keeps the game more simple. He'll probably get around 225-250 pts total this year which is a nice score to double.

I'll captain him for every easy fixture he has, Kun/Salah can take the armband when he has a tough fixture

Yeah same. I have really had poor captain scores this season so far. May as well just keep it on Kane for most fixtures.

So, for anyone concerned about the difference between Richarlison's (and Watford's in general) home form Vs away, bear in mind that they have only played 4 home games and they have been against City, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Brighton. There is a concern about his threat levels at home thus far but I feel Stoke are so bad that hes a great captaincy choice.

If he blanks the self-loathing will be massive though.

    1. ⚽️ Dingo ⚽️

I have a feeling he is going to run at the Stoke defense like crazy. Morata did well for his hatrick with running at the defense. For me it's Kun or Richarlison for the captain. I think it's a great week for a punt.

He runs at every defence like crazy. BTW stoke had no centre backs in that game and they really aren't that bad.
Richarlison to get a goal or assist return I reckon but I'd never captain him.

No look at who he has played at home. He should in theory be stronger there. I think there is a real possibility he rips Stoke to pieces this week. Even if he doesn't for the money he looks like a season keeper.

At that price for me I'd keep all season. You can't expect returns every week for 6-7 mil players. Yeah sadly people don't get that and will sell him if he goes a few without return.

He has the makings of a season keeper for sure. Only thing that worries me is fatigue (he's been playing football non-stop for a while due to the dates of the Brazilian league) and the fact that he's playing outside of Brazil for the first time - not sure how he'll do in the cold.

I posted this about an hour ago:

I think these home vs. away stats are in need some some serious context, and they were sort of debunked on the Scoutcast.

1st home match (LIV): Signed three days before the match; barely speaks a word of English; plays only 41 minutes (and looked threatening).

2nd home match (BHA): Watford go a man down 23 minutes in and play for the 0-0 tie the rest of the way.

3rd home match (MCI): 6-0 loss; barely see the ball (against the best side in the league); yet still has 4 of the team's 9 touches in the box.

4th home match (ARS): 9 touches in the box; 3 shots; 2 on target; 1 assist.

Set on pretty much everything this gw but 1 thing, just had a quick rethink, Fabianski should rack up the save points, Swansea are apparently Arsenal's bogey team, worth playing off of that and playing Fabianski over Elliott? With that in mind, who to play?

    A) Fabianski away at Arsenal, had an 11 pointer vs Spurs & likely to rack up the save points, Swans apparently Arsenal's bogey team

    B) Elliott vs a usually goal-shy Burnley, if he concedes he's unlikely to get many save points, either a 6 or a 2 pointer.

Question for Liverpool fans: saw some news reports suggesting Klopp may be keeping faith in Lovren. If this is the case, and Gomez does not play CB, will he start on the right, or does his place become under threat from TAA? If this is the case, is Moreno more nailed on, or under threat from Robertson? Know Liverpool defence is not a hot commodity right now, but I am looking for a short term pick before Chelsea's fixtures turn green, and home games vs HUD and SOU look good to me.

He'll play right back ahead of TAA going off of past data, TAA hasn't played in the Prem since the Burnley match, he get CL matches instead, I do think Moreno is more nailed though as Robertson isn't even getting Champions League matches

Gomez will likely still start either way so you could go either. But if you are going with a Liverpool defender Moreno is the most logical move as he has a higher percentage for attacking returns. I'm actually tempted myself....

Sure would Red Dagger, may make mistakes but at least he'll learn from them and our current centre backs seem to not be able to do that as they constantly make the same mistakes. Brilliant prospect Gomez and he needs to be given a long run in the side at centre back to see if he can cement the role before the summer as I could see us buying 2 centre backs if not, Matip's been poor too but less so than Lovren

Fully agree, Matip is good on the ball and poor/average at everything else, Gomez should at least be able to equal Lovren's performances short term, more likely better them & far surpass them long term, has all the ingredients to be a top centre back. When Clyne's back I'd defo do it. Issue we have now is it's too soon for TAA to be playing every match so needs back up or someone to rotate with him.

Thx. Will wait for Klopp's press conference to make my Sterling/Davies -> Salah/Moreno move for a -4. Did not want to take a hit this week, but all my other captain options (Aguero, Lukaku, Kane) don't look great this week

Should I be rid of Davies of Naughton this week ? Should I get Azpil or Van Dijk as a replacement?

Think Naughton should go, though he's nailed, I don't think he'll bring in much points over the season.

Get Azpi once Kante is back in the team, what about a city defender?

I've got 13 of my 15 spots filled on my WC. For the final two, I'm choosing between:

    A) Silva and Vardy
    B) Choupo and Aguero

    Which looks better to you?

(Note, I already have Sane, so I guess Silva could be the definite and "A" above could read Sane and Vardy instead.)

    Thanks in advance.

Nah, I'll be captaining Sanchez. But for long-term captaincy options I think it might be smart to go with Aguero. I'd been on A all week but have started to come around to B because I shouldn't be so worried about him getting rested this week - it's a wildcard so it has to work longer term.

Chaupo and Jesus for this week. Aguero long term but I don't think he will play this week. Sane very likely to start so you don't need Silva and my gut tells me Silva will get rotated too and it's coming....

alot of liverpool love on here for this GW. They have been held to two 1-1 draws with mid-table opposition already this season and hudders will be confident after last GW. I think they could frustrate liverpool if they sit back and don't allow any space in behind for salsa and co.
Anyone else thinking the same? (or they obliterate huddersfield as they occasionally do to teams).

Morning lads, feel I need to lose one of Eriksen or Sterling this week to fit Salah back in.

Which one do you think is better to lose?

Eriksen is the better long term pick but Sterling could be the pick of the week, just worried that he may miss out for Napoli but can't be sure.

    What do you think?

    1. Freddo
      • 8 Years

For context, I have Silva, Sterling and Aguero, Davies, Eriksen and Kane.

Since you already have Silva & Kun, get Sterling out for Salah. Maybe Davies to Otamendi next week?

        1. Freddo
          • 8 Years
          8 years, 5 months ago

Yeah, that's the path that makes most sense to me, don't think I can lose Silva as he seems the most secure route into their MF.

Thing is, if I knew Sterling would start, I'd C him so that's at the back of my mind.

Not sure how that United game will play out, if United sit back then I expect Eriksen to see a lot of the ball, the game looks bad on paper but could be good for him.

I had the armband on Sterling last week, never again. Honestly think that Kun is more nailed compared to him. Although Eriksen didn't get anything against LIV, still think he'll do well over the course of the season.
