The crucial captaincy decision comes under focus in this latest ScoutCast episode. We’re five strong as Jonty, Andy, Granville and Az join me to put our skippering habits under scrutiny.

And when it comes to depriving us of returns, there’s no bigger “Armbandit” than Harry Kane. We’re all forced to give our updated opinions on the Spurs striker, as another “home banker” at Wembley looms for Fantasy Football’s most expensive and frustrating asset.

Elsewhere in this 90-minute marathon, your community questions steer us to assess the midfield heavy-hitters wrestling for our attention, explore the methods of dealing with festive rotation and the theory that we’re all playing down the impact of bonus points when weighing up transfer targets.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Trippier should play this weekend. I'd lose Valencia, not worth it for his price imo. Downgrade to Mee and bank the 2mil.

Solanke needs to go, I'd be looking for a way to get Morata in after this next game. Maybe Eriksen to Groß

Team looks good then but Trippier is a rotation risk so make way for someone else over the next few gameweekd

People taking about Alli having a poor season. Eriksen hasnt been that great either

    Alli- 3 goals 2 assists i first 12 gw's

    Eriksen- 3 goals 3 assists in first 12 gw's.

Despite this two main creative sparks performing well below average Kane has done well to score 8 goals.

Those 2 cant go on underperfroming. Once they are get into form Kane will surely flourish against easier teams.

It’s the whole team which has collectively underperformed: they can’t break down teams who sit deep and pack the defence at Wembley.

    2. Pep says
      • 10 Years

Ya but until then having Kane is enough for me. Too many midfielders on form at the minute to be waiting on Erik and Alli to start firing.

Can’t wait for those 2 to become options. I think this is the week when Spurs mids start knocking on our teams doors.

Anyone want to talk me out of this 8 point hit?

    Jones > Otamendi
    T.Carroll > Pogba
    Aguero > Wilson

Gives me what I regard as the optimum midfield: Hazard, Salah, Sané and Pogba (RLC). A forward line of Kane plus Wilson/Abraham (who rotate home/away), plus Otamendi and the cash for Alonso next week. What’s not to love?

    3. Pep says
      • 10 Years

Good moves but rotating Abe and Wilson could result in disaster. I'd rather lose Abraham altogether.

I'd be worried about not being able to get Morata though

      1. yer old da
        • 16 Years
        8 years, 3 months ago

Yeah the rotation thing seems ok on paper but I know it will lead to a string of 2 pointers. The lack of Morata is a draw back to this approach, but I will have Alonso and Hazard for cover and a seriously strong midfield.

Take away from the scoutcast for me was all 3 who offered an opinion said lose Jones.
Exact opposite of my thinking - then again if he did pea not play midweek that's 3 weeks missed followed by 2 bad fixtues

    1. Pep says
      • 10 Years

I don't think hell play tomorrow. And I don't see Jose playing him against Watford with Arsenal and City coming up in the 6/7 days prior.

If he misses the next too in the hope that hell be fit to play the 2 tough fixtures, then he's not having and that will just continue over Christmas so he had to go as far as I was concerned

Yeah I makes sense / but losing him without replacing wit him another utd asset seems stupid given the level of CS to date. and with Smalling no way looking nailed and around the same price I am tempted. Want to wait on Christensen option too.

        1. Pep says
          • 10 Years

Without him though they aren't that solid at the back as they are with him. Watford, Arsenal and Chelsea all well able to score goals. Not worried about now

Honestly I doubt we'll be able to keep cs at similar rate going forward. 3 tough fixtures after Brighton. Bought 5.2 and I'll be getting rid for a hit. Otamendi for next 3 and reasssess.

How does this look guys? Aiming for a team like this. There is a lot of value in midfield and they are scoring just as well as the more expensive striker options. Alternatively could have Kane + Coutinho/Pogba over Morata + KDB.
    Pope (Elliot)
    Azpilicueta Otamendi Mee (Femenia Dunk)
    Hazard KDB Salah Sane Gross
    Morata Wilson (Niasse)

If I had Sane or Lukaku, I'd captain either one of those, but I still think Kane is a better option than either Morata or Salah given their fixture against each other - and Sterling is also a risk for minutes. Aguero is unlikely to play.

Now that 3-5-2 looks better than 3-4-3, has anyone given any thought to the possibility of bringing in Firmino?

Sure he's been crap for ages, but looks like he was back in the points with CL. Could this be due to the return of Mane?

Is he the best option in the 8+ category?

I have that feeling also given his comment that he rushed recovery for Arsenal game- see above. Or if plays will be subbed early if Spurs ahead

Choosing C Sane instead of Lukaku (-4) and Hazard, hope it's the right decision.

    Jones and Silva

    To

    Duffy and Sane

For a hit? Feel like Sane gets all the points and I'm losing ground every week I own Silva instead of him.

Sane can benched every other week. Silva KDB look the only 2 certainties in the midfield.

    Elliot
    JONES Daniels Naughton
    Silva Sterling Salah Richarlison
    Morata Kane Vardy

    Speroni Ward Carroll Mbemba

    Jones to:

    A Otamendi
B Mustafi (Allow me to do Richarlison to Pogba for -4 would leave 0.0ITB)
    C Azpi
    D Alonso
    E Other

Are Azpi & Alonso worth the extra money. Normally dont like spending a lot on my backline.
