First up, we’re treated to a pair of early afternoon kick-offs this Sunday.

Southampton and Everton get proceedings underway at St Mary’s at 1.30pm, with neither side making much impact on the plans of Fantasy Premier League managers.

It’s indicative of their respective performances this season that, between them, Saints and Everton have just only three outfield players – Ryan Bertrand, Cedric Soares and Wayne Rooney – boasting an ownership in excess of 5%.

Rooney owners will surely be seeking a way out as he warms the bench for the second successive Gameweek, with David Unsworth handing Dominic Calvert-Lewin a start up front in the absence of the suspended Oumar Niasse.

And with five very testing fixtures (mci ARS che tot mun) in the next eight, those still holding Southampton players will also be looking for an exit as the fixtures come thick and fast over the festive period.

There’s far more Fantasy interest in the 2pm clash between Burnley and Arsenal at Turf Moor.

The Clarets seek a fourth straight clean sheet, with interest in Stephen Ward continuing to escalate – the full-back is the most owned (22.1%) and top value defender in FPL in terms of points per million.

Nick Pope has another chance to audition for those on the lookout for a new keeper – he’s averaged 5.9 points per match since deputising for the injured Tom Heaton.

Both Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey have upped their consistency of late for the Gunners, providing a goal or assist in four of their respective last six league outings.

Nonetheless, it’s the visitors’ Alexandre Lacazette who is the most captained player from today’s first two fixtures. The Frenchman is the ninth top armband (129,000+) pick for Gameweek 13 on the back of two goals and an assist in the last four.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Jesus surely starts the next 2 now, right? Was gonna take him out as my Hazard makeweight, but seems insane to ditch him before SOT, WHU. Should I bin Kane for 2 instead?

Why do you have both City strikers? That's playing a very dangerous game.

REALLY don’t get this Granville strategy of picking both City strikers... totally poor allocation of resources.

This 'should' be a one-sided, high scoring game even when they park the bus at Huddersfield . . .

    B. Aguero
    C. Sterling

🙂 waiting for Austin to start for a looonng time. Don't have Wilson, but Id consider taking out a big hitter from the front 3 for him. Reckon if he can stay fit, he's golden ... Up till now SOU couldn't buy a goal.

So much for our Pep theories... Jesus starts all away games, Aguero plays 90 midweek... so Aguero starts today. So done with the City rotation minefield. Picking both is intellectually redundant in my view unless you’re expecting a hattrick every game from whoever plays.

Don’t think I can have Jesus or Aguero over Xmas.

With your other big hitters (and others) probably missing one game out of 5... having a 10m plus player potentially missing 3 is just too much exposure.

Interested in the opinion of people here, especially of Chelsea fans who watch the games.

I have Azpi for some time now, and I'm wondering if he's the best of the crop at the moment.
It looks like he moved to the back three now, and is subdued by Zappa's presence. Am I correct in understanding this?

If so, with Alonso somewhat under-performing, could Christensen be a bargain as he seems nailed as of late, and only costs 5.4?

      1. HashAttack
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 3 months ago

think Azpi has played there for quite a while ... Moses use to play where Zappa was

Theoretically Azpi's position is a negative but he's done the business this year and did so last year too

        1. DaveVak
          • 13 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

From the little I saw, Azpi used to interchange a lot in the past, but since Zappa came in, he seemed to have stuck behind more.
Goal/Assist is already the same as last year, so definitely something changed.
