There’s something special about a Gameweek under lights and, even with just four matches to get things underway, there is excitement and expectation in equal measure.

Tonight’s eight teams boast enough Fantasy talent to deliver significant points – not least Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku, who will doubtless be the top two captain picks on show yet again.

The smart money – and the armbands from active Fantasy managers – are likely to be with the Spurs striker, as Kane revisits the ground where he fired an incredible 31 point return in 2016/17.

His owners will gladly accept a more modest tally this time around, though having scored six of his nine goals on the road this season, double-figures could again be within reach.

Less is expected of Lukaku, who will collide with a Watford defence that has kept back-to-back clean sheets. The Belgian’s form remains a concern, with his recent strike against Newcastle his only goal in the last six Gameweeks.

Elsewhere, the big news from The Hawthorns is that Newcastle United’s goalkeeper, Rob Elliot, has been dropped from Rafa Benitez’s line-up. Priced at 4.0 initially this season, Elliot boasts an ownership of 26.4% who must now turn to their reserve option. For the managers who also own Crystal Palace’s Julian Speroni, there is no reserve option, ensuring they look set to be forced to market ahead of Gameweek 15.

Talking of Palace, news from their “local derby” with Brighton finds Christian Benteke in the starting line-up for the visitors, with cut-price midfielder Ruben Loftus Cheek perhaps moving to a No 10 role to accommodate his return.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Stephen Ward owner here

I think the price rise is a little outrageous. 4.5m to 5.1m, wow.

Particularly when there are other - just as good - options on the defense for cheaper. I guess it's just a case of inertia pushing things forward.

Ya it's crazy. There's no way in earth I would pay near 5.1m for him when Tarkowski is 0.6m less now. Some managers just see overall point scores though

    Bottomed.

Really having a hard time with this one. Should I play Niasse next week against Huddersfield or bench? Might sub him in for one of these players:

    A) Pogba (ars)
    B) Sane (WHU)
    C) Richarlison (TOT)
    D) Groß (LIV)
    E) Salah (bha)
    F) bench him

What to do here? I’m thinking of doubling on Che defence doing Pope to Courtois?

    Pope
    Otamendi, Cahill, Mee
    Salah, Sterling, Zaha, Chupo
    Kane, Morata, Firminio

Elliot, Kiko, Carrol, Fernandez 1ft 1.4 itb

Argument for this switch is double on chelsea defense looks good for now. also, you can probably leave courtois in for the remainder of the season, so it should equal out (heaton return will cause future dilemmas)

    a) Alonso and Kiko (2transfers)

Duffy, Ward and Daniels are my other defenders so Kiko doesn't need to play every week.

'B' however gives me funds to do Ladapo to Niasse / CDL going forward

    Foster (4.4)
    Kola (6.0) Chilwell (4.3) Mustafi (5.4)
    Pogba (8.0) Salah (9.4) Hazard (10.6) Richarlison (6.4)
    Kaku (11.4) Kane (12.7) Niasse (4.9)

    Elliot (4.1), Mariappa (4.0), King (4.3), A-Arnold (4.2)

Wanted to do Kaku and Kola for Morata and Alonso but price fluctuations leave me 0.2 out with 1 FT in bank...
Is it best to go for Jesus/Laca/Firmino instead, or is it worth taking an 8 point hit and downgrading 0.2 elsewhere... ? Maybe Elliot to a 3.9 ?

Just do Luk to Morat for now

Jesus has some rotation risk and Firmnio is a non scoring player taking up a striker spot in your squad

Kaku to Morata for now (if there is no indication that Morata will be rested). You need a bit if cash IMO to upgrade your defense or attack depending on your preferred formation- 343?

Yep feeling like that is the one - what would you consider a sign that he may be rested ? If he doesn't play 90 I'll call that a good sign...
Problem is I'm desperate to get a Blues defender in and don't want to miss out on points this weekend, especially considering I've got two Arsenal boys against United...

        1. Live Lad
          • 11 Years

Bat is not fit. Morata was rested in the CL game. So, he won't be again soon I suppose. But yes see if he plays 90 mins (even after the game is wrapped up). IMO Chelsea rotation won't be nearly as bad as City's. And Bat is not the same level as Morata while Jesus can be as good as Aguero.

  14. Live Lad

I know I have to wait till the games are over but pleases give me thoughts on this team:
    Fabianski
    Kolasinac, Alonso, Daniels, Otamendi
    Salah, Sane, Richarlison, Gross
Kane, Morata(c) if he doesn't play 90 mins tonight

    Subs: Elliot, Abraham, Carroll, Mbemba

Need to downgrade one of my defenders surely and maybe get DDG?
especially now that I only have Fab is playing keeper?

Who to sell? Kola out of those?

    1. TheAbear53
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Otamendi for me, not thoroughly convinced by him...
DDG is always worth a shout - Morata's minute management is very interesting - wonder where it goes !

Advise me on my dilemma, just above yours...

Thanks! I thought Otamendi goes up a lot even in open play and he is the cheapest. But yes, Alonso are Kola are beasts. Who do you recommend? Ota to Mee?
        Will check your team. Thanks!

Mee is a good shout ! Ward too - us Hornets have a few boys who will start to pick up points but hold a few weeks on that one... are you set on getting DDG ?

          1. Live Lad
            • 11 Years

I like Ward but too expensive compared to other Burnley defenders. Worth the extra? DDG is not good short term without Jones and with the fixtures. Fabianski is Ok for the next two games. So I think I'll keep for now.

    2. Pep says
      • 10 Years

I wouldn't get DeGea when they have Arsenal City next and without Jones they're simply not as good at the back.

Have you got 2fts? Could get Morata and Alonso for free and do Abraham to Niasse for a hit to fund it.

It may be good for fantasy managers but Poch running Alli, Erik + Kane into the ground is a major factor into why Spurs are in the shit in the league.

Yet he chops and changes the defence.

    madness

I wouldn't base it on that

Alli and Eriksen just aren't playing particularly well. I actually thought Spurs improved ever so slightly as soon as Lamela and Llorente came on, (not enough to write home about, but enough for me to think they could snatch a late leveller).

I think even non-Spurs fans have such high standards and expectations of these two, players of their calibre, that when they do dip in form it is painfully obvious.

Once they start to lose a bit of form, Spurs really suffer as a unit, I think maybe more so than other teams in the top 6. Alli in particular looked worryingly out of sorts, more than he did in the north London derby.

Maybe I am being too critical...

To me its more about not having any decent options in attack to change things up. Look at last weekends benches for example-

Man U- Scott McTominay, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Marouane Fellaini, Sergio Romero, Marcos Rojo, Ander Herrera,Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Man City- Bernardo Silva, Eliaquim Mangala, Danilo ,Ilkay Gündogan, Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko ,Claudio Bravo

Chelsea- Willy Caballero, Antonio Rüdiger, Willian , Cesc Fàbregas, Pedro, David Luiz , Victor Moses

Liverpool- Roberto Firmino, Andrew Robertson ,Sadio Mané ,Adam Lallana, Georginio Wijnaldum, Loris Karius, Trent Alexander-Arnold

Spurs-Michel Vorm , Serge Aurier , Fernando Llorente, Mousa Dembélé, Juan Foyth, Kyle Walker-Peters, Moussa Sissoko

Not much there for Spurs to shake up attack.

    Pope,

    Azpil, Ward, Smalling

    Salah, Sane, Richardison, Silva

    Kane, Morata, Wilson

Happens every time a Man Utd player gets a haul. Pretty sure it happened after that Federico Macheda game all those years ago.

Non-owner here but that was unacceptable. Took too much time, what was in his mind?

Yeh, it is a concern when a top striker doesn't put that in the back of the net, a month ago and he would've buried that no qualms.

Yes. Chelsea's fixtures are great. I assume the other two moves are to accommodate Hazard and Alonso?

Really feel as if I will regret changing Capt from Morata to Kane 5 mins before deadline.

Top of cash league but the 5 behind me all have Morata captain. Really want a Morata blank

Kane captainers who switched (C) from Morata or Hazard, how do you feel? Content or dissapointed? I'm meh

I was always on Kane so didn't switch, but I'm content. There have been enough captain blanks for me this year so 6 points feels like a haul.

Meh for me mate n all.

I switched from Hazard, influence a little by pressers and some of the scouts last minute tweets.

Most in my ML, and my H2H opponent this week all captained Morata, I opted to keep Lukaku and captain Kane instead.
