In our continued quest to mirror the Fantasy Football season, this latest ScoutCast episode is missing a key player, but shuffles the pack and brings on stars from the bench.

Quivering from the midweek rotation, Jonty and Az begin proceedings before Granville is introduced to add his experience to the line-up. Then, late on, Andy arrives to shore things up and see the team through the final testing period. Me? I’m ruled out and left to watch from the stands.

The ever-changing line-up does a fine job contending with another round of community questions, as they assess the midfield template and consider goalkeeper recruits in the light of Rafa’s tinkerings. Then Granville rolls back to a classic ScoutCast question, lambasting United fan Andy for celebrating a City goal to ask which comes first, your football team or your Fantasy team?

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel earlier on Thursday. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm really not understanding the Niasse love. He may be cheap but isn't nailed, Everton are poor and looking at some teams on here, he is being used as a 3rd striker in a 343 not just an enabler in a 352

    1. Lone Wolf FPL

          • 11 Years

But wouldnt you prefer a nailed FW when rotation happens like last week. The one week you'll depend on Niasse, CL and/or Rooney will start and then you're screwed.

            • 9 Years

Barring the last match I would say that he had played himself into nailedness. Plus is was scoring for a bad team (who could only improve) and is insanely cheap.

That said, he won't start until Everton lose again probably. This may well be soon but he's watchlist only for me.

With doubts whether Sané and Morata will start this GW, would you do

    Sané + Morata -> Hazard(c) + Vardy (-4 pts)

Will still have Sterling as City cover. I'm thinking Morata vs. Hazard as a long term choice, can't afford both + Azpi

If Sané has recovered, everything screams that he will start and Sterling will be benched. I'm not confident that Sterling will cover you, but I suppose he will in the sense that surely one or other (but probably not both) will start.

Morata is a bit more of a concern.

      1. Pompel
        • 12 Years

That's the issue - if we only could get some certainty on the Sané situation. Doing the move, I'd at least have two certain starters, who also would be good longer term.

I agree with this. It seems fairly clear going by what has happened so far this season that he can't play 3 times in a week, so he'll likely miss 3 out of the next 8. If your bench can cope then consider it - but it's risky.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts and advice here chaps (refrain from "defence too expensive" comments where possible - will make changes in coming weeks, including RLC and Richarlison IN).

Made my transfer last night: Forster >> Lloris (FT). I think Poch will have laid into the boys and despite Toby being out Spurs have been notoriously strong in defence and I fancy them to return to form. Next 3 (WAT A, STK H, BRI H). Team as follows:

    Lloris
    Walker - Daniels - Maguire - Bellerin - Alonso
    Sane - Hazard
    Kane(c) - Wilson - Morata

Bench: Elliot - Carroll - Surman - Carrick

      Transfer thoughts for upcoming weeks

Transfers IN: Richarlison, RLC (Salah if my budget will allow it)
Transfers OUT: Walker, Carroll, Carrick (Sane may need to make way for Salah)

Decent plan. Might cost a few points in transfers unless you have wildcard. Your team consists of decent players so I guess try to make transfers you have planned with minimal hits. I'd prioritise Salah

Maybe just A to give you some Chelsea for this run. If I could only own one Chelsea player it would be hazard. Definitely wouldn't do B. You seem to have enough cover to hold Jones although I don't recommend it.

Whoops this was my old team. Front is Vardy, Kane Morata.

please please can i have some help?

i am currently bottom of all my leagues, 14 weeks in and ive made far too many changes subject to a personality of indecisiveness and the fact that there are so many more options this season for the 'perfect' team. anyway, i have finally got through my first game week without making any changes, as at long last i feel happy with the team...but would be great for some advice anyway, especially the front 2 as i really like the rest.

    pope
    kolasanic - ward - jones - alonso
    hazard - sane - salah - ramsey
    jesus - morata

let me know what you would change if any, i'm still obviously urging for Kane as everyone is that doesnt have him :)....but am keen to stick and not twist this time. ...i feel that if i leave this team to roll for a while, i should make up good ground now, depending on right captain choice! capt for tomorrow please ?

Looks like a good team, though monitor Jones and Morata nay not start (who are your back-ups?). Jesus won't play too much but on the other hand he is just cheap enough that you can take the odd one-pointer from him. Never captain.

Don't worry about not having Kane. On current form he's too expensive. People constantly rave about his potential to score a brace in every game, but you have a player in Salah who is actually doing that. I would captain Salah or Hazard this week. Both should start after rests in midweek.

Cheers Red Arrows, yes i was thinking of captaining Hazard too. hes looking in great nick at the mo!

I only have loftus cheek as back up and quaner...so not great really. do you think i should try and improve bench?

I was considering losing jesus for rooney or lukaku or kane, however the latter 2 would change my team negatively...so maybe rooney, he will find the net a lot this season....ashley young for ramsey was also on my radar for when kane picks up form...young is so cheap!

I see a lot of posts from people raging when Harry Kane blanks. I read something interesting this morning, he has more goals at this stage of the season than he ever has before with 10 in the league. If Harry Kane scored 10 goals in a row, in 10 games, would people still be critical of him?

To be fair i think his ridiculously good talent has given people such high expectations of him, that people get angry when he scores 1 because we know he's capable of scoring 2/3 against anyone. I think when Spurs hit good form, we'll see many more braces from Harry.

(He scored 2 goals last season in his first game in December, please be a good omen)

I think it's just because other players are doing better for less. Salah has comfortably more points and we should all be captaining him, really. If you can't captain Kane most weeks then you shouldn't be paying 12.5m+ for him.

Even though his FPL scores might not show it every week I think Kane is a great striker. If you forget FPL for a minute it's definitely unrealistic to expect goals every game or braces every game. Nobody scores 38 league goals. When great players like him don't score for a few weeks I think it just makes them more likely and hungry to score. I do still expect 2 or 3 hattricks by the end of the season though. Could definitely make a case for going without him but I think there are enough good value players like Gross and Richarlison and 4.5 Defenders to have Kane. Have to spend the money somewhere I guess.

    Aguero > Vardy
    Surman > De Bruyne

    Or

    Surman > Silva

Got a feeling Aguero will be rested.

    Thoughts?

You might be right but if I had Aguero I would rather keep him than swap for De Bruyne to be honest. Surman to Silva looks a decent long term option but you might want Sterling the week after unless you already have him. I'd hold for another week or two personally

I have been trying to find out what budget goalkeeper I would like to transfer in this week after both Elliot and Speroni got benched last GW. Here are the goalkeepers I have been considering.

    Pope
Pro: Good fixtures, good for saves and bonus points. Cons: He is a short term solution.

    Pickford
Pro: Home against Huddersfield next game. Have a new defensive manager. Cons: Everton has been bad in most games this season.

    Hennessey:
Pro: Cheap and good fixtures. Cons: Will mostly apply for people with Speroni in goal already because he is a rotation risk.

    Fabianski:
Pro: Gets a lot of save points. Fairly cheap. Cons: Playing for Swansea (this could be a pro?).

Any other goalkeepers we should consider? Ryan or Lossl?

I'd say Ryan top of budget goalis at this point. Burnleys purple patch coming to and end
