The Scoutcast team are reduced to a three-man line-up as Andy’s Azpilicueta-like run of appearances comes to end. Shifting to a new rural setting, he goes AWOL having been hamstrung by his “new” medieval internet connection.

That leaves myself, Jonty and Az to represent, as we struggle to muster our own bandwidth to meet the demands of an unexpected double Gameweek, landing right in the middle of the frantic festive spell.

That topic – and the strategy involving ScoutCast favourite Harry Kane – dominates your community questions and this 90-minute episode.

Elsewhere, we try to justify shunning Arsenal assets, choose the optimum routes into Watford’s fixtures and the Allardyce’s Everton revolution, before deciding if it’s time to bail on Manchester City’s attack.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Loads have been called off. I remember one week there was only 3 or 4 games that went ahead. It was a complete lottery. You were in the points if you owned Tim Cahill.

Yep! The pitches are ok - they all have undersoil heating, afaik - but sometimes the police ask for a game to be called off because they're worried about the roads and pavements surrounding the stadium.

There was a few games postponed a few seasons back over the weather it was a sickner and killed my season i just gave up that season after that.

If it does happen and it more than likely wont the free hit chip looks tailor made to deal with it.

It depends really, if coutinho really takes off then maybe, but it would be more long term I guess. It's not ideal I understand that, I got rid of him for a hit this week to get hazard and coutinho in but I must admit I am worried 🙂

A: Mee, currently 4.8, can sell him for 4.7
B: Ward, currently 5.1, can sell him for 4.8

I'm very tempted to bring Coutinho in for Sterling but feel it would be foolish as it would use all remaining funds restricting upgrades to Elliot, Niasse and Mbemba if required, not worth it is it ? I'm thinking Speroni will play so roll ft.

    1ft, .8 itb

    Speroni
    Alonso, Kolasinac, Tarkowski
    Salah, Sterling, Hazard, Richarlison, RLC

You don't need to worry about upgrading Mbemba, and you could always downgrade Alonso > Christensen for extra cash if you need to upgrade the other 2

Thanks for your thoughts, Mbemba will have to go if he loses his spot though, need a full playing squad this time of year. I think I'll sit tight with Sterling, he has been so consistent and Coutinho is quite injury prone, still got tomorrow to mull it over though, cheers

    Which transfer to make?

Already did Pogba > Ramsey and have another FT.

    A) Daniels > Christensen. Other defs are Mee, Duffy, Kola. Am playing Kola every week and picking two of the others, so could just bench Daniels for his bad fixtures.

    B) Silva > Coutinho. Already got Salah, but they look great in attack. Why should I get rid of Silva though? Still good value?

Similar dilemma with Silva, see below. 2 tough fixtures in next 3 and can't see City scoring many at Swansea so i'm tempted to do B. Daniels can wait a week

    1FT 0.7 ITB
    A) Davies > Christensen/Kola/Bellerin
    B) Silva > Cout/Ramsey (exact cash for Cout)
    C) Something else
    D) Save

    Davies, Otamendi, Daniels, Mee, Lowe

    Walker Mustafi Daniels
    Sterling Richarlison Salah Hazard RLC
    Kane(C) Morata

    Subs: Elliot, Mee, DCL, Mbemba

I know its a little risky but :

    C) Save

He should be a little more considered. I got him in last week as I fancied Brighton parking the bus, and liked Liverpool's fixtures going forward.

I don't know what logic you'd use to say that was a bad idea.

What makes you think he's the better option? The 2 assists vs Newcastle?

Yeah, I don't think this is a cut and dry option, really. It's not like Azpilicueta and Alonso where you pick one for assists and one for goal threat.

If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say Femenia is slightly more nailed and that might be worth the 0.2m extra.

I absolutely agree with you. I am on my WC this week so I am quite worried myself and cannot trust my choices. I feel I got to choose a Watford defense and who? Tough...

I also need to factor into my decision if Kane blanks v Stoke. In that scenario, I could sell Kane + Wilson for Lacazaette/Jesus + Firmino, but I'd only be able to do that if I get Zeegelaar over Femenia!

In that case, I think I should err on the side of caution should I feel the need to make those moves next week.

I am firm there. had Kane since GW1 so I will captain him for the two weeks and if he fails, that is his end for me whatever happens thereafter. But I must say Kane + Wilson sounds better...

Femenia has only started every game since Janmaat became injured in GW1, he's then kept his place. Zeegelaar has now replaced Holebas and is also doing well.

Zeegelaar had 2 assists in the Newcastle game, but I agree Femenia looks better on the eye, technically.

I think I might need the 0.2m so am leaning towards Zeegelaar.

I think I am doing that. Better short-term fixtures at least.

Transferring out a high-flying Liverpool defender (Moreno) to a lowly Crystal Palace defender (Sakho) and all for a 0.3m premium just doesn't seem right, does it? But hey-ho, it's done.

    Onwards & upwards.

    My team is:

    Pope
    Duffy - Daniels - Christensen
    Salah - Hazard - Richarlison - RLC - Sane
    Kane - Morata
    (Elliot - Mee - Niasse - Dann)
    1FT - 0.1itb

Should I do Sane > Coutinho?

Very much like my team too, and I'm thinking of doing the same... Sane has United, then could be on the bench on midweek, and then Spurs... (Although Spurs defense isn't that good at the moment admittedly)....

Is it just me, or has the FFS league got no no.1 spot?

Mmm...well the overall No 1 was our top guy.

      https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/2241/event/15

He appears to have left then joined again. Perhaps he needed to quit a few leagues to join another and chopped and changed. Looks like he's back in, though.

TBH, all kinds of shenanigans goes on with the League of Leagues. They need to bring in some rules.

Top managers joining cash leagues to try to win money on the final day just seems wrong but nothing currently prevents it if the admin allows it.

Preventing leagues showing cash prizes in their league name would help.
