A rotation and injury plagued Gameweek 17 served up some thrilling matches in the Community Watch tournament.

Our latest update takes in the drama from Matchweek 11 and looks ahead to Matchweek 12’s key encounters.

Matchweek 11 Review

Full results can be found here.

Hungary Neville’s 10 point win over Afghanistanislas puts them second in the league, six points behind the leaders.

Reussia vs Blindia proved to be a high scoring contest, with Blindia’s tally of 385 not enough to beat Russia’s impressive score of 397.

Bolivia Giroud, Belgium, Mozambique, Cech Republic and Germane all won their respective ties, but with less than ten points between them. It was a very tight matchweek indeed.

The Kenyaya vs Ibeland clash proved to be the odd one out with the former smashing the latter by 97 points. Unlucky Ibeland’s 276 points was the lowest score for the matchweek.

Matchweek 11 Awards

Player of the week: In a low scoring game week, Blindia’s manager VK racked up 78 points. A worthy winner.

The Mozampiquans were league leaders by some margin, that much Boris and the Salahmon Islanders already knew. They knew also that Mozampique had beaten them in their preseason friendly match, and had since only lost twice. When the Islanders had rocked up to the Mozampique port, however, they were not aware just yet to what lengths the Mozzies were prepared to go to secure victory. As the GreenWindmill was hoisted off the boat, Boris caught sight of Az, the Mozzie boss, a tall, muscular man with a thick moustache, and his sidekick known to many as John Terry’s Dog, either because he talked a lot of balls or for his predilection to lick his own, the stories varied. Both were sporting malevolent grins, instantly alerting Boris’ suspicions and sure enough, as the Salahmon Island team made their way off the boat they heard the sirens, which became louder and louder. Before they had a chance to make a run for it, the Mozzie police had seized their luggage, slapped the entire Salahmon Island crew in handcuffs and whisked them away to the city jail. “Sabotage!”, growled Boris, as he and his brave team were all escorted to their own private cells.

The next morning, Boris woke up in his cell to the sight of dozens of scorpions pouring through the only window he had which overlooked the high street outside, hearing high pitched cackling of two men walking away. ‘So these Mozzies are cheats!’, thought Boris, but it was clear to the handsome and strong leader they had underestimated the Salahmon Islanders. Shortly after, covered in red, stinging welts, Boris made his way to breakfast to parlay with his team mates. “Bad news,” Boris announced, “they’ve impounded the GreenWindmill, and all of the fifty barrels of vintage kava we had inside.”. Knuckles was incensed, “those cowardly, cheating bunch of scumbags!”. Sune, always the calm one, piped up, “Boss, the game is tonight, if we are still locked in here the match will be forfeit”. “Don’t worry about that,” soothed Boris, “first we need to work out how to beat these bums, and I have a plan…”. “Oooh, is it 3-5-2 formation?”, asked Swanmore. “No, Swanmore, we only have 6 outfielders….”. “Two footed tackles?”, guessed rjcv177. “That goes without saying, RJ, but there’s something else we need to do. We need to fight fire with fire, boys, we are going to have to……cheat!” There followed a minutes silence while the Islanders took in what their, up until now, well respected leader had just said. Knuckles then broke the silence, “What’s the plan, Boris, we’re behind you 100%.”

One hour before kick-off, the prisoners were allowed their afternoon walk in the grounds to stretch their legs. “Boris, I still don’t understand how we are going to get out of this.”, mumbled Torreslove, “and no one has seen Lord, he’s disappeared!”. At that moment there was a commotion over by the prison gates, the guards were firing their weapons at something outside, and then suddenly there was a deafening crash, followed by a huge dust cloud. As the dust began to clear, the grounds were suddenly filled with….”Warthogs?!” cried Boris, “What the..”. “Not just ordinary Warthogs, Boss, these are homing warthogs!”, Lord exclaimed, grinning like a hyena and riding around on one of the wild animals. “Everyone hop the back of one of them and they’ll all take us back to their home!”. Minutes later the islanders were free, riding through the Mozampique streets with the wind in their hair, howling and whooping. Boris, however, was keeping his head, “Lord, we need to get to the match, not to the home of these warthogs.”. “The zoo is right next to the stadium,” grinned Lord, “and I did the other thing you asked as well.”. “Excellent work, and are the Mozzie team eating it?”, asked Boris. Lord’s smile widened into a true Cheshire cat smirk. “HAHAAAA, let’s see how strong their stomachs are!”, whooped Boris, laughing for the first time in days, as the Mozampique stadium came in to view on the horizon. Perhaps today would be one of those days that the Salahmon Islands would remember, and celebrate, for many years to come.

Meanwhile, in the Stadium cafeteria, Az was in fine fettle. “Get that lasagne down your gullets, men, the islanders are screwed and the victory is as good as ours. HA HAAA!”, he cried, raising a glass of the stolen vintage kava to his brutish, motley crew. They all downed their glasses, and, to a man and his dog, their stomachs all began to bubble audibly. As the entire Mozampique team all streaked for the toilets, Az turned his head skywards and screamed, “DAMN YOU BODEGA….”, before he too searched for an roomy empty vessel to use…..

Don’t worry about it boss, I’ll take Az and the rest will crumble. I’ve been studying his moves for a long time and I understand how he operates. His normal M.O. is to fill his team with players who score lots of points - he’ll be expecting me to do the same, this is where the element of surprise comes in...

I should like to congratulate my manager for winning the “Post of the Week” award publically.
Prior to the confirmation of his success I wrote to him thanking him for his little piece.
(The piece referred to has nothing to do with parts associated with John Terry’s Dog mentioned in your latest masterpiece).
In fact I suggested to JK that the award should be renamed the “Boris Piece Award”.
With regards to your latest tale, not only was it amusing but it was suspenseful as well.

The crowd are baying for blood, the Piques are strutting their stuff, and JTD is patrolling the pitch marking territory, but the Salahmons are unfazed. Emboldened by another inspiring pre-match sermon from Boris, and the backing of the rest of the league, the Salahs are ready for the fight.

We can't afford a bus, but our goal-line is stuffed with Boris' 'Poster of the Week' awards so our defence is secure; and we have Neymer upfront to knock em in.

    We final, shattering blow to the Piques' hopes is that I will be warming the bench, and keeping an eye on the half-time oranges. The guys doing the business are;

Rjcv177(C),GreenWind£101million, Boris, Knuckles, Sune, Swannoretime and Torreslove.

Prior to bonus points being applied the Grabbers find themselves with a comfortable lead - similar to last week. Alas similar to last week our opponents have quite a few more players to come in.

Grabbanglers (+55) – De Gea *2, Sigurdson *2, Gomez, Martial

    Blindians – Calvin-Lewis *5, Jones *4, Pickford*2,
    Smalling, Coutinho, Foster, Fabianski

    Bolivia Giroud + 8

Niasse x 2 (or Loftus-Cheek and Fernandez if no show), Fabianski
    -------------------------------------------------
    Gaboniadini

    Calvert-Lewin x 2, Kenny x 2

Looks like Gaboniadini are the favourites.
