Liverpool breeze past Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, with Mohamed Salah among the goals once again. Though it is Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino who outstrip the Egyptian, as both deliver double-digit hauls in a 4-0 victory.

Selected as the top captain choice in a Gameweek for the first time this season, Mohamed Salah justified that backing.

Afforded the armband by 20.9% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers, Salah scored his fourteenth league goal of 2017/18, returning eight points.

Atoning for a rare blank in the previous Gameweek against West Brom, Salah has now produced returns in nine of Liverpool’s last ten league outings ahead of a trip to Arsenal on Friday evening.

It’s testament to how crucial he is to the Merseysiders right now that his manager was keen to give the winger a breather, replacing Salah on 70 minutes with the Reds already up by four goals and cruising at that point.

Encouragingly for their Fantasy backers, Liverpool are the only top five side without a midweek Carabao Cup fixture, ensuring they’ll be further refreshed by the time they face the Gunners.

With back-to-back home encounters against Swansea and Leicester then to follow, Salah – and Liverpool – have the platform to go on delivering.

Brazilians bag double-digits

While Salah extended his lead over the chasing FPL pack to over 20 points, he was overshadowed by team-mates Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in the Vitality Stadium stroll.

Both the Brazilians delivered a goal and assist apiece to claim 13 and 12 points respectively.

Stationed on the left of the front three as Sadio Mane dropped to the bench, Coutinho fired seven shots on goal, matching Salah’s four efforts inside the box.

Incredibly, he has now played five away matches this season and produced 10+ points on four occasions.

Next up, he visits Arsenal side that he scored twice against in a 4-3 win in the corresponding fixture last season.

Second only to Salah in terms of points per match (ppm) by 7.3 to 7.5 among all regular players, he’s shaping up as a very strong festive differential with an ownership of just 11%.

Despite a slow start to the season, Firmino now racked up four goals and two assists in his last four starts across all competitions.

As a result, he’s climbed to fifth in the FPL forward standings on 82 points – just four points behind premium priced pair Alvaro Morata and Sergio Aguero.

The Reds’ frontman was dumped by over 79,000 FPL owners ahead of Gameweek 18 after failing to deliver against the Baggies in midweek.

But that trend is now being reversed – Firmino is the third most bought player over the last 24-hours as many look to Jurgen Klopp’s attack to take advantage of their favourable upcoming fixtures.

Despite this, the threat of rotation over the festive period should not be overlooked. The Gameweek 20 fixture with Swansea City at Anfield will be identified as a hot-spot for returns for both Brazilians. However, arriving four days before another home fixture with Leicester City and four days after the Arsenal test, we should expect Jurgen Klopp to shuffle his pack for the Swans clash in particular.

Then in Gameweek 22, Liverpool will go to Burnley four days before a Merseyside derby FA Cup clash with Everton. While Liverpool could field a weakened XI, there will be pressure on Klopp to preserve some star men – unlike many other Premier League sides who will doubtless turn to the second string for their third round ties.

Reds resilience on the rise

The 4-0 win over Eddie Howe’s side helped Liverpool claim back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since Gameweek 3.

Promisingly for Klopp, his side are now keeping out opponents on the road, too – after conceding 16 times in their first six away matches, they have allowed just one goal in the subsequent three.

Indeed, since their chastening 4-1 loss at Spurs in Gameweek 9, Klopp’s side have shipped just four goals in nine league matches – only Burnley (three) can boast a stronger record.

Installed to the Reds’ back-four in Gameweek 15 as a result of Alberto Moreno’s recent injury, Andrew Robertson supplied the assist for Coutinho’s opener to return nine points yesterday.

Looking at the statistics, the Scot’s performances will have given his manager food for thought once Moreno returns to contention.

Over the last four Gameweeks, Robertson is ranked second top for Liverpool when it comes to clearances, blocks and interceptions (CBI), with 20, winning all five of his tackles. Both are crucial statistics in the Bonus Points System.

Going forward, only Salah and Coutinho have had more touches in the final third during that period, while Robertson sits second for attempted crosses (14).

Injuries adding up for Howe

After yesterday’s home hammering, the Cherries now have a weekend trip to Manchester City on their agenda next.

Eddie Howe has injury concerns at both ends of the pitch after two of his key first-team regulars were forced off against the Reds.

“We don’t know the situation with either player, it’s a huge worry though regarding Charlie Daniels and Joshua King. It was a hamstring injury with King and a groin injury for Daniels so we’re not sure at the moment. Callum Wilson had an injection in his knee for a really minute problem. It’s nothing serious”.

Owned by 11% of FPL managers, Daniels is Bournemouth’s most popular player heading into the festive matches.

Over 20,000 owners have already parted company with the left-back, though – if fit – he could still profit from the schedule after the Etihad clash has passed.

Bournemouth will then host West Ham and Everton before travelling to Brighton on New Year’s Day.

Really unlucky :(, I've been there so many times this season. I have started to favour consistency of returns over points ceiling and it's starting to pay off.

well I was tossing up between 3 options I didn't captain salah because I thought klopp rotation would strike and i captained morata over hazard because I felt if both played morata would of got more out of the game. I feel like I can justify the decision considering morata had a higher xG than hazard in 77 minutes less game time but I also don't think I was unlucky because the risk of morata not starting because of injury was obvious so should of gone with salah. Just seen your team and your having a great gameweek hopefully Calvert Lewin can bag a hattrick to top it off 😉

I've had such a hate hate relationship with Firmino over the last season - never scores in my team, hauls as soon as I get rid of him.

Owning him for his haul yesterday was a rare and truly wonderful thing.

Bobby back on my Christmas card list. 🙂

Did this last week and surprised there was such little interest in it in these parts. Had just scored, has great fixtures and is an easy swap back to kane for his double. Pogba back will help too

With Big Sam shutting up shop, Arsenal away and a likely rest against Brighton or Stoke... is Hazard to KDB tempting for the next four?

For some context 7 mids have scored more than the 3 best forwards. Those mids are all cheaper than the 3 strikers.

Problem with 4-5-1 is you have to play a minimum of 4 at the back. 3-5-2 with a cheap enabler like Rooney may be a better shout and there are more formations you can play with the template.

It looks the way to go but that presumes that forwards continue at their current rate of scoring. I don't trust that.

We'd expect a goal-a-game rate from at least one big striker. It's not arrived so far so opting out and going heavy in midfield looks the way to go but it's a situation that can change very quickly.

And as soon as a big striker booms, the market could go a bit crazy.

I'm just wary of moving funds out of attack with that in mind.

I agree Mark. I was looking at moving Kane or Morata on but Kane is still top of the pops as striker stats are concerned and Morata has been injured / rested a little. It's only a few weeks ago when everyone went for the big three up top now its down to one. A big game week for strikers and the landscape will change. I still believe this is the season to stick with your big guns.

With you guys on this. Very tempting to move funds away from the big 2 up top (after having big 3 up top early too) but I'm trying to stop my recent form for hits and let it play out. The strikers are that price for a reason they are likely to explode at anytime

problem is, Kane apart, there isn't a premium striker that looks capable of making hauls. Lukaku might start to tick over but at 11.3m is that enough?
Is there a mid-price striker that is reliable enough to put alongside a premium striker. Only possible candidates seem to Firmino or Rooney.
City strikers just don't score enough between them - not sure an injury to one of them even merits a City forward.
Also if you have Hazard and KDB not a big leap to upgrade one of them if a premium forward explodes.

I don't really agree. The game has changed so much in recent years that these inverted winger types like Salah, Mane, Richarlison, Sterling and Sane are playing almost more forward than the actual strikers. Watching City games, Aguero looks far less dangerous than the 3 S's. So some of the most lethal players in the game are almost wrongly classified as mids.

Then throw in the classic number 10's like Hazard, Coutinho and Eriksen who naturally get forward a lot and we have a load of extremely potent mids roaming free while the lone strikers toil away for 4-point goals and no clean sheet points.

Then finally we have this weird scenario at City where the mids are not getting as rotated as we thought they would and look hideously underpriced. It's almost like Leicester in their title year.

KDB, Haz, Sanchez, Sterling, Sane, Silva, Pogba, Coutinho, Salah, Mane, Eriksen, Alli, Ozil, Richarlison, Gross, Zaha, Ramsey, Willian, Mahrez, Shaqiri, Arnautovic and Lanzini currently all look better value than pretty much every single striker. Throw in the usual suspects in defence and I don't think you can honestly justify a big spend in the forward line.

7 mids, 4 defenders and a goalkeeper outscoring the 3rd best forward (Morata).

6 mids and a goalkeeper outscoring the 2nd best forward (Lukaku), and 7th mid and a defender level with him.

5 mids and a goalkeeper outscoring the best forward (Kane).

And yes, the most expensive of these 15 players are the 3 forwards!

Would like to know everyone's favourite cheapo striker at the moment?

A lot of DCL love on here, seemingly without a lot to love about him. He's shot-shy, was lucky to pick up the assist in the derby, and Everton despite their recent up-turn still look pretty turgid.

I think there are lots of good options in the sub 6.5 bracket. Depoitre, Austin and Bony all seem better options to me.

      Thoughts?

              I'm not sure mate.

They've only had 5 or 6 clean sheets right, and none of their defenders are scoring regularly the other end like Alonso or The Otter for example...

              Better value elsewhere no?

Gomez has got me a clean sheet/assist whenever I've played him and Klopp hasn't benched him. Happy with that at 4.5 (for me, got him at that price).

Understandable. He's the one I'd choose I guess. Their top scoring defender right?

Game time is an issue - but I guess he's cheap at the price you got him.

Robertson, Klavan and Gomez would all be bargains if they were nailed on.

But some of the United, City, Chelsea and Arsenal defenders should score more points if you can afford to spend more on your defence. It is unfortunate that the Spurs wingbacks suffer from so much rotation.

                  Agreed.

Seems like one of the tragedies of this season has been the degree of rotation of some of the best players.

                  Maybe I'm
                  Just noticing it more.

Maybe it's reflective of squads getting deeper?

Rotation certainly seems to be greater than in previous seasons.
Teams like Man City have so much money that they can afford a couple of top class players in nearly every position, and Klopp is trying to avoid his players burning out in the new year like they have often done in the past.
Spurs have been rotating their wingbacks for 2 or 3 seasons now.
And some of our leading teams are also taking the Champions League very seriously too.

          Hello Virgo 2.0 😀
Just a concerted case of bad form. Makes sense when you realise that there's actually hardly any forwards compared to mids and defs, much easier for them all to be doping badly - city forwards and Laca being tampered with by their managers, Kane and Morata in patchy form as their teams are all over the place, (Kane more so), who else is left as an option as a big hitting forward?

            7 years, 11 months ago

            I hear you mate.

But the ratio of forwards to mids is presumably about the same as it always was, no? So the volume argument shouldn't stand if it didn't before.

And there are mids in those same teams (Spurs aside maybe!) who are firing, no?

You may be Right, I just always naturally look for a root cause if a trend starts to emerge...

Ratio of forwards to mids is the same, yes, but there's a lot less stability in all the teams right now (not just up top). Give it a few weeks and two will be ideal again. Until then I'm happy with Kane, a cheapo and a very nice midfield.

      1) Now Pogba is back and the premium strikers continue to fail is now the time for 4-5-1? If so which 2 budget strikers are we going for? Austin and DCL?

      2) After Morata's next three is it time to sell and just have Hazard as Chelsea attacking cover?

      3) Like Salah, is Man Utd defensive cover essential? (certainly looks to be in my mini-leagues with many Man Utd defensive double ups)

      1) Are you in favour of Kanexit or are you a Kaneremainer?

      2) If you plan to put Kane on your bench in GW21, what does your starting 11 look like? How weakened is your team having him as a passenger?

      3) With their huge ownership, why are you scared to go without Salah but not scared to go without DeGea? Should DeGea now be called "Mr. Rank Killer" for non-owners?

      4) What does it say about the forwards in FPL now a GOALKEEPER has scored more points than them? Should we play a false 9 in our team with a super expensive midfield?

      5) Is Salah's ownership becoming a problem?

        3) Absolutely agree. Not having a United defensive asset (DDG in particular) is a rank killer much like Salah.

In fact it's probably worse as many have doubled up on the United defense.

        1 Not bothered either way
2 Not that weakened, means a decent defender probably plays, Burnley etc
3 Not many captain DeG, and other keepers are not far behind in points anyway. My Fabianski gives me 1.5 mill to get Jones etc
4 Says that the keeper has had a decent run, and the forwards have not. The keeper hasn't missed a minute of football so not a straight comparison. I expect most premium forwards points, plus the replacement in the team on the day they didn't play, beats DeG

You seem to have been upstaged by James 101 this week!

        1. My first thought was to sell Kane and then get him back for GW22, but will probably use my next few transfers to fight fires and get in a few additional Spurs and West Ham players instead.
        2. As long as I have 11 starters in my squad, that's enough for GW21.
        3. There are alternatives to both. Pope is currently keeping pace with de Gea, and there are plenty of other good midfield options (although Salah probably is the best).
        4. We should certainly prioritise our midfielders over our third forward - and perhaps over our second forward too.
        5. What problem? He is looking almost essential though.

      Question for Jay.

Fantastic score and fantastic season but do you have any regrets as the players you brought in were outscored by the players you sold? factor in the hits and its been quite an expensive process which has slowed your march to the title (which I do think you'll win) in hindsight, was the moves really needed and would you do it again if you could go back in time?

Do you feel the pressure to be spectacular due to your new found social media presence/fame and is this a lesson learned for the future?

      Question for Jonty...

Do you have any regrets about gloating at Mark's wildcard/bad week with it now that he's gone above you? While I expect you to defend Jay by saying his moves shouldn't be judged on one week, you were quite smug in not applying that principle with Marks wildcard and now hes ahead of you, do you regret it?

      Question for Mark....

      Are you smiling inside?

Can we finally admit that David De Gea is a good pick even as a goalkeeper?

He has more points than Eriksen, Kane, Sane, Otamendi, Morata, Aguero, Lukaku etc. In fact he has more points than any defender or striker in the game and more than anyone else except Salah, KDB, Sterling and Silva.

Why are we still so relucant, is it solely because "he is a keeper"?

I've been eyeing him for weeks and I have been darned lucky that Pope has been largely covering his points. Thinking of getting him by downgrading Kane or Hazard though.

      2. Needo22

I think everyone is on board with the idea that he's a great pick.

But its his premium that's the crucial point, and the opportunity cost of it. Is a difference of 20-30 points over the season compared to the next best alternative, Pope say, worth the 1.3m extra when that money could be spent strengthening elsewhere?

Jones is definitely complicating the argument for him too.

The reason for the 17 point difference is that Pope missed the first three and a half matches before Heaton's injury.

          They are both on 5.5ppg.

Pope is far better value - if he can keep it up.

Good pick but he has played every game and it is not as simple as saying ‘he has more points than x or y’

Same points per game as Pope !

Slightly more points per game than Jones for .5 more ?

Is Richarlison’s time over in our teams? Watford’s recent slump and Pogba coming back makes it a tempting switch. Pogba could be a handy differential to climb up the rankings.

I'm not sure if it is just me but I feel like new Brazilians to the league start to go off the boil a bit when the English winter comes around.

I imagine they are not used to it, especially when coming straight from Brazil and coupled with the hectic Christmas schedule. I was debating this with a friend on the weekend but I'm not sure if I'm just seeing something that is not there.

My conclusion is that I may remove Richarlison until February at least. I'm not sure if there is any way to get actual hard stats on this theory though.

It’s not a January wildcard, it’s a “second half of the season” wildcard. Can be used any gameweek from 22-38.

Jonty, to reiterate a question I posed in the week (which is relevant to Salah captaining):

Are prioritising 'hauls' with a big points ceiling over consistent returns. To that end, can I suggest a new stat for your tables? This is "matches blanked" - where a player appears in a game and fails to register at least one goal or assist (or clean sheet for a defender)? I think this would be extremely helpful in deciding captaincy.

Kane captaincy is becoming somewhat of a differential. Seems madness to consider the likes of Sterling and Pogba over him and despite Burnley’s fortress at Turf Moor I see him scoring a brace there. Do you trust his underlying stats to prevail?

My question is; is there any way xG can be taken seriously at all? Come on; of this week's "over" achievers, xG of Lukaku was 0.37, Alonso 0.31, de Bruyne 0.11 (!) and Eriksen 0.04 (!!)... These are ludicrous figures; so have we found out where xG fails, so that we can still use it...

Not sure I see the problem. Lukaku and Alonso had chances that an 'average' player would be expected to put away about once every three games. De Bruyne 1 in 10 and Eriksen 1 in 25.

What figures would you hope to see from the system? I assume you think the chances they got were better than that?

Yes, indeed that is what I think. If xG wants me to expect that Eriksen's chances are 1 in 25 games, that is 1 until the end of the season, then there must be a mistake in the way the data is interpreted. Or, am I getting something wrong here? Possibly the latter and I would hate to trouble you with an explanation if you have already made one under another post.

I'm no xG expert but here goes... the idea is that xG models the likelihood of Eriksen having scored a goal in the game against Man City given the chances he had and assuming he is 'average'.

His only chance in the game was picking up a loose ball on the right hand side 30 yards out with several defenders between him and the goal. It got rated as 0.04 based upon whatever calculations take place (see link below for more on this).

Important to note that this is intended to be a metric of the likelihood of scoring in that particular game viewed with hindsight, it's not a projection of goalscoring likelihood going forward.

As I say, I'm no expert and I suspect that's a terrible explanation so if you want to read some proper material on the subject this article goes into more depth and has some links out to OPTA's own explanations which are far more in depth and helpful 🙂 http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2017/10/05/development-squad-expected-goals/

xG delta (the amount by which a goalscorer beats xG) is often an indication of how much more clinical the player is than the average one - rather than that he has been lucky.

But it means very little over a single match - it needs to be looked at over a number of matches before it becomes significant.

Who should we bother with up front?

Nobody seems to be making a convincing case for investment.
Firmino? (Always in danger of being squeezed out by Salah and Coutinho)
Rooney? (Are penalties masking his lack of involvement and position further back?)
Aguero? (No real form, outscored by every midfielder in his team)
      Jesus? (Rotation central)
Kane? (Really? I mean, no form, blank, tricky fixtures, stodgy team...)
      Austin? (Those fixtures though...)

So, who?! Can’t I trade those positions in for another couple of midfielders please?

      I have 2 questions 🙂

Question 1: This season my highest points from a captain was Kane at home to West Brom (8 points). I am getting really frustrated every week at picking the wrong captain. Do you think this season, not just for me, but for others and some of the Scoutcast team is the hardest season to pick the right captains?

Question 2: As we approach the midway point of the season, what players do you think are essential? So what players are a must have in everyone's team?

The upcoming DGWK22 is already starting to cloud my vision and impact on transfers over the festive period when really, I should be concentrating on what is already a tough period of rest and rotation.

Should we just ignore preparation for the DGWK and save a transfer in GW21 and take a single hit?

Or how about the Free Hit chip for DGWK22?

How do you find the all important balance between patience and taking action in selling a nailed on big hitter who is not really performing (especially in midfield where there is an abundance of options atm)?
Holding Alli, while he continued to blank and lose value, has proved a big error on my part for example! But I held Sane also who scored well at the weekend and patience might pay off with him yet!
Is there a rule thumb that any of you use, such as 3/4 blanks and you're out?

Thanks for the mention in the last scout cast - Same question again, still worth holding onto premium striker - after (Aguero, Jesus, Kane, Lacazette, Morata) all blanked this weekend, whereas we saw the Midfielders, (Cout, KDB, Sterling, Sane, Salah, Eriksen, Hazard, Ozil) pick up decent hauls.

I will concede there is potential for 1 Premium (over 10m) forward, with Morata or Lukaku being the choices.

Why are we reluctant to get KDB even though he is the best captain option in the game along with Salah? We are missing on so many points especially captain points by not considering him. He is extremely consistent, 100% nailed on, explosive, a bap magnet and fixture proof (actually he is more likely to haul in the big games). Why aren't we paying 10.3m for him yet willing to pay much more for Kane,Lukaku,Aguero,Morata, hazard. Some people are even willing to take a punt on a rubbish Sanchez or Lacazette rather than get KDB. I know Silva, Sterling and Sane are delivering at a cheaper price but I wouldn't be comfortable captaining any of them. It could work some times but with KDB you can just keep the armband on him for most matches.

What are Your thoughts on using free hit for the upcoming dgw instead of trying to maneuver through the consecutive blank and double? I'm eyeing the free hit as Im really not sold on how good it will be to load up on mediocre players in the FA cup blank week, which seems to be the favored option for free hit. Allows me to triple up on spurs without taking hits or decimating my team for the bgw.

Apologies for reposting this long post but I was hoping to hear the views of the scouts on the merits of playing Free Hit chip in GW22. Especially Jonty who is pro ditching Kane. I was hoping it would get HTed to be discussed more and to hear different opinions but it seems to have been missed in the previous article.

      "@Jonty
Revisiting your idea of ditching Kane, it seems your only fear going without Kane is the DGW where he can hurt if you don't have him. The way you put it is that Kane now has only 1 potentially good game in the next 3 before the DGW so he is ditchable for now. However, most people don't want to spread the funds from ditching Kane to avoid multiple hits to get him back especially that we will want to load up on more Spurs and Westham players.

I think the key question we need to ask ourselves, do we really want or need Kane at all apart from DGW 22? Looking at the ticker, Kane doesn't have 1 potentially good game in 3. Actually, it is just two potentially good fixtures in the next 9! Based on current form, Big Sam's Everton should no longer remain as a blue fixture on the ticker. Even the two Southampton games are not that easy given how well they fared against the top sides. And we wouldn't captain Kane in those 2 GWs anyway (Chelsea,Liverpool and City have plum fixtures in both GWs). So basically Kane has a great DGW in a sea of red and non captainable fixtures.

I have reached the conclusion that the free hit chip is the answer to our problem. It is the perfect fit for DGW 22 because of the following:

      1) You can ditch Kane and spread the funds to have a very strong midfield and defense (Utd double up on the cards). Then use the chip to load up on Spurs and Westham players without taking hits or wasting transfers on players you probably don't want apart from the DGW.

      2) You can also load up on players from teams that have good fixtures. If you look at GW22, most big teams have difficult fixtures. Arsenal vs Chelsea, Everton vs Utd, Burnley vs Liverpool. These fixtures make up easily 8 or more players for most people especially in the FFS community. On the other hand, City, Spurs, Westham and Leicester have great fixtures. We can load up heavily on these teams and have our original team back after the GW.

I don't think we will get a better opportunity to play the chip again. One big team has a great DGW, many top teams have a bad fixture among a sea of blue fixtures and some top teams have a very good fixture. Seems a perfect fit for me. I'd take that over playing it in a blank GW where most top sides don't play and I'd have to load up on the likes of Stoke,Swansea,Palace etc to field a starting 11 that will probably give me a string of 2s instead of zeros.

The only potential downside for this plan in the eyes of some is that you cannot TC Kane if you play Free hit. For me, there is no way I can trust Kane with TC this season based on Spurs dire form. I'd rather wait for a DGW that has City or Chelsea or even Utd. If Spurs and Kane were to somehow return to their best form soon, I am sure buying Kane back won't be a big issue. All it needs is 2FTs to upgrade Lukaku/Morata (most teams have one of them) and downgrade a premium defender like Alonso/Azpi (most teams have one of them) to a budget one."

I might be late to the questionparty but i find myself lost in the world of fantasy.

This is my first season playing FPL as anything but a casual 1 transfer a month kinda guy. (I lost about 1m in TV during WC by trading in the same players i traded out earlier on the same wildcard in other positions, so i'm not quite familiar with the rules yet.)

Three weeks ago i was top 100 Or, everything looking good. I took some hits to "fix" my team.

After the fix i see myself losing more and more. I am now down to 2k and wondering what to do. Everything seems to move against me.

      Team at this moment

      Elliot, Fabianski
      Azpi, Otamendi, Ward, Mee, Kenny
      Hazard, Coutinho, Salah, Sanchez, RLC
      Morata, DCL, Okazaki

      Transfers planned before gameweeks
Gw19 Ward out for WH def
Gw20 Fabianski out for lloris if Elliot is back
      21 blank
22 Sanchez and Morata out for Son and Kane (TC)
23 upgrade somewhere with whatevers ITB. Hopefully RLC to Pogba or City.

At this point i am just two Transfers away from getting another Premium striker in if one exolodes, but plan is Kane in a 4-5-1.

My question is: is it too risky to go that long without any attacking City players?

I would love to know the scoutcasters thoughts on mid-priced midfielders, specifically:

      1) Lingard - is he nailed? how will Pogba's return affect him?
      2) Pogba - is he the United attacking force to own?
      3) Arnautovic - seems great value even without the DGW, anyone looking to get him?
      4) If Silva is out, does Gundogan become a cheap 5th mid option?
      5) Richarlison - Jay just got him, so I presume he is confident Watford will improve?

DDG or Jones, Adrian or Ogbonna - which West Ham and United combo do you prefer?

Finally Jay's wallpaper - can he change it? does he secretly like it? did it influence his decision to take a -12?

Had a bit of Smooth this week.

Wildcarded in GW 10 and went from 1.2m to 88k in 4 weeks. Since then been having a nightmare with injuries and back down to over 300k.

Took a -12 this week, but scored 69.

      Did

      Moreno, Sane, Niasse, Jesus >

      Ogbonna, Sterling, Calvert-Lewin, Lukaku!

Hopefully sorted my team back out for the christmas period too.

City's midweek team sheet will be a good guide.

City mids indeed look best - Sterling and KDB especially.

      Pogba also good.

And Salah can never ever ever be dismissed.

Attacking returns in six of his 8 appearances. 7 pt average returns. Leicester with one clean sheet in their last six league games.

Palace scored 3 there in the last game. Leicester aren't very solid defensively from what I can see. Pogba nice and rested and is always involved. I don't own him but I don't see it being a bad idea.

If we stop being stubborn and dismiss Jesus and Aguero as options we have a pretty good idea who will start. We know KDB and Silva will start. Midweek game will be an indication regarding Sterling and Sane but I think Sterling will be rested midweek. City have enough depth to rotate most of the main players.

Has to be Salah for a few reasons.

      1) Arsenal are at home so will play into Liverpool's hands by attacking them.

      2) His ownership is so high that unless you C him, you go backwards.

      3) The other options are not great and theres no stand out option, maybe better to hide inside his ownership and survive the week then go again next week.

      4) Liverpool have scored a lot of goals against Arsenal recently, the game should be very open.

i partly agree with you (although currently have sterling(c), sane (vc) - except that i think that due to recent history of conceding so many goals to Liverpool, Arsenal maybe wary of this and set up to be much tighter, whether this results in stemming the number of Liverpool goals remains to be seen

Just a little survey, how many transfer you made so far and how many times you take hit?

Just a small transfer information for top 5 overall :

    2nd - 16 transfers 1 hit
    3rd - 18 transfer 3 hits

I think he's been dropped as part of the change to a back four...and back to back CS's will hardly help him.

Mustafi back may persuade Wenger to return to a back three but we don't know...
