Sunday’s pair of Gameweek 21 matches get underway at midday as Crystal Palace welcome Manchester City to Selhurst Park.

The latest teamsheet twist from Pep Guardiola sees both Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling drop to the bench, with Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus joining Bernardo Silva in the front three.

Ranked fifth and seventh top captains for Gameweek 21, Aguero and Sterling have been backed by 7.2% and 4.8% with the armband against the only side yet to register a clean sheet in front of their own fans.

Over 219,00 FPL managers drafted in Sterling on the back of three successive double-digit returns, though it’s worth noting that he’s emerged from the bench to score in two of his three sub appearances this season.

A big haul from the ever-present Kevin De Bruyne could have an impact on the FPL standings – 4.05% have handed the Belgian the armband as he goes in search of a sixth double-figure haul of 2017/18.

City arrive with the league’s best defensive record on the road, claiming more shut-outs (six) and conceding fewer goals (five) away from home than any side.

Yet the Eagles have proven a reliable source of goals at home – indeed, they have scored exactly twice in seven successive matches at Selhurst Park, which includes clashes with Chelsea and Arsenal.

With a goal or assist in all but one of those seven encounters, Wilfried Zaha has played a pivotal part in their renaissance under Roy Hodgson.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Aguero is a shite pick. Why pay 11.5 for him if you'll never captain him over Sterling?

I would definitely captain him over Sterling if I knew he wasn't going to get hooked for Jesus after an hour all the time. Penalties, best striker in the league for the most attacking team, etc.

"Penalties, best striker in the league for the most attacking team, etc." - All irrelevant when Sterling is scoring much more than him for much cheaper.

Because I guess people would captain him over Sterling now he might be nailed.

Even if he's nailed, Sterling is better.

Didnt watch till now and I see that Aguero come in 23 minutes.

May have over stretched inside of knee. Not an aggressive impact nor evident twist. On appearance I’d say he was worried he’d injured his knee again but it may be ok.

If there's no Jesus around to steal minutes then Kun is on par with Kane/Salah for the armband every week.

Not even on par with Sterling. Nowhere near Kane or Salah

Thinking same, anyone over 9.5 is silly when you have Kane imo, as they'll never be captained. I have Haz but long term might need to get rid to spread funding.

If Kane gets injured though & Jesus is out long term - Aguero is essential

Yeah, Sterling is the better value pick. But if you have both Aguero and Sterling, and you are confident they are both going to play, captain Kun is still very tempting. I know. I did it. And would do it again against Watford if Spurs didn't have a double.

He's not just the better value pick. He's the better pick. Even if they were both the same price, he would be the better pick. So why would it be tempting to captain Kun over him?

              Disagree.

History has shown Aguero can get 4 or 5 goals in a single game.

History is irrelevant. This season has shown Sterling has been better.

Agree that Sterling has been a better pick this season. But sometimes this game is about chasing differentials and upside.

Plenty other cheaper differentials too. No need to spend 11.5 for that.

Forget history. Just look at this season. Aguero's goals per minute is slightly better, he's on pens, he has four assists (so it's not like he's not pitching in points in other areas). Again, I prefaced it by saying if you KNEW they would both play, it's a tight decision on who to captain. I absolutely stand by that based on THIS year's stats.

Captain Sterling and have Kun. He's going to clean up. Aguero is a far superior captain choice anyway. Sterling isn't fit to clean his boots.

"Sterling isn't fit to clean his boots" - LOL. Second highest scoring player in FPL, 6 double figure hauls. Aguero is a useless pick.

This is a really pivotal point in the season.

    Cusp of a DGW
    Kane a doubt
    Kun potentially nailed on

So I'm now tempted to use my 2 FTs to bring in Arnie and Kun for Pogba and Morata. Sacrificing Vert and/or Son though unless I take hits.

Played my Free Hit for the DGW.

    Reasoning was:

Most likely DGW next is the League Cup final on 25th Feb. Arsenal are due to play City, United are due to play Chelsea. One of those will be postponed. The week after (possible reschedule GW), City play Chelsea, United play Crystal Palace away, Arsenal away to Brighton, not the most enticing games.

Salah will most likely be rested against Burnley due to the knock picked up yesterday. Salah and Mane have been given permission to go to AFCon Player awards on Thursday, so will be rested in the FA Cup against Everton on Friday.

Kane being ill has put doubt about playing Triple Captain, as he might not play both games.

    Team currently is:

    Lloris

    Otamendi Duffy Maguire

Mahrez Son Arnautovic (V) Lanzini Sterling

    Vardy Kane (C)

    Adrian Crouch Jones Kenny

Thoughts? Anything to change in that team?
