Gameweek 23 draws to a close at Old Trafford as Manchester United entertain struggling Stoke City.

Up against a defence that’s conceded more goals on the road than any side, the hosts boast three of the top 11 captains in Fantasy Premier League.

Romelu Lukaku (12.1%) remains the favoured attacker among Jose Mourinho’s contingent despite a run of two goals in the last nine Gameweeks.

Yet as evidenced by his goal and assist off the bench against Derby in the FA Cup, an enforced rest due to a head injury seems to have boosted the Belgian’s prospects.

Jesse Lingard and Paul Pogba are also highly fancied, with the former drafted in by a massive 567,000+ FPL managers in time to face the Potters.

Certainly, Lingard is the form player on show tonight, with seven goals and a pair of assists in the last nine Gameweeks. He has, however, recorded points in just one of his last four Premier League matches at home.

Meanwhile, Pogba’s 12-point haul away to Everton last time out – his first double-digit return since Gameweek 12 – hints at a return to form. However, tonight’s teamsheet indicates that the Frenchman will be deployed in a deep-lying role alongside Nemanja Matic, with Ander Herrera dropping to the bench.

Having conceded just five goals at Old Trafford, a ninth home clean sheet looks to be on the cards for David De Gea’s 42% owners tonight.

Up against an attack that have scored just three times in their last five road trips, interest in Phil Jones is on the rise – he was the top transfer target in defence for Gameweek 23, earning over 191,000 new owners.

Mourinho also welcomes back the fit-again Antonio Valencia, who makes his first appearance since Gameweek 18 after recovering from a hamstring problem.

Despite missing the last four matches, he remains the fourth top-scoring defender in FPL thanks to two goals and 11 clean sheets in 18 outings.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Spurs very recently beat Southampton 5-2, City recently beat Newcastle 1-0. I'd go for Harry.

Starting to think Kane Firm and Vardy could be nice and a double up punt with Mahrez for those nice fixtures including 28 which would be nice. Anyone?
352 to 343 means another hit though.

    Ogbonna to Jones

I watched the full game again just now. And Mane had that stunning goal but wasteful a lot of the time too. He is frustrating he seems to want another second and slows it down. After watching it again I have decided no to Mane and will go Mahrez instead.

It was brilliant the first time and as a pool fan it's ok to watch it again knowing nothing can go pear shaped at the end 🙂
I really wanted to watch Mane and KDB again. Kdb so good but I think getting him would unbalance my team too much and very probable 28 blank against him too

          1. Licious Lizard (delete acc)
            8 years, 6 months ago

Yep as a neutral it was a very intense and interesting game.
KDB one of the Best players on the field, but I agree that his FPL returns aren’t enough to justify him a spot in my team right now.

Apart from Elliot and my Pereria and Your Alli for my pogba we have the same team

What the hell is your TV must be 106.5 or something?

I am thinking Pogba and Son to Mahrez and Arnie and frees up enough for Quaner to Wilson or Ogbonna to Jones.

      1. Kloppen Schloppen
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 6 months ago

        yeah 106.5

I’m 0.1 off doing Alli to Mahrez and Ogbonna to Jones.

So TV hasn’t really helped me there!

            I like those moves.

Alli to Mahrez this week and bank a tranny.

Son to Arnie and reassess the other move.

            Good business that. Cheers!

Thats the plan now but for another hit I might go Vardy over Arnie and change 352 to 343 and hope Mahrez and Vardy kick off with those fixtures.

Mini poll. Basically my dilemma is what to do with Kun & how to go about dealing with my defence. My 2 key decision-breakers are will or won't West Ham keep a clean sheet and how will Kun do. I'm not feeling very confident in Kun and don't think West Ham will keep a clean sheet. With that being said

Re: Which is a better move? have 2 FT's and no other use
    A)Christensen to VVD/Stones/Maguire/Smalling(have ota,jones)
B)Depoitre to Ayew (this move is for long term, can bench Ayew for next 2 weeks easily,If I dont do this later on I can get Wilson after 2 weeks)
    C)waste Free transfer

I'd keep Christensen for the time being with Cahill possibly injured. I guess Depoitre to Ayew but if your never playing him you may aswell go even cheaper.

But It would be handy to have him as I would have to play 1 of Mee/Ayew/Ibe when someone is injured or has a tough fixture

Depoitre is probably better in that case for the 0.3m more or so. Can you afford Wilson?

Is taking a hit for a playing GK ever worth it?

For example, I'm playing Pope(MUN) this week, who I kinda hate and want to ditch. Thinking about Pickford(WBA) who would be a long term option and could easily repay the hit this GW.

I was thinking the same but in GW 25 Pope has Newcastle and Picky has Leicester...

Burnley are AWFUL right now, and Pope never gets any save points, which is incredibly frustrating for a cheap keeper. Plus Heaton is back soon.

I just did it this week to go pope to ddg. 1 pt better off instantly. The move was for the long term however and I'm hoping it pays off over the season. Not taking defenders/goalies out for a hit is something that has held me back before

Unfortunately can't stretch to DDG but Pickford has racked up huge scores recently against poor teams and their fixture run is fantastic.

pope and pick are actually a sideways transfer.
one has a steady def in front of him but unlucky recently, while the other has def who are more often then not in sixes and sevens.
big sam can produce good results but he can also play a team that will trashed ...when you least expected. look at this past records.

you are holding a top 4 gk, so whats the need to change? bur blip is just temp. roll that transfer.

Burnley are going to coast to midtable until the end of the season IMO, they have nothing to play for. I've watched a few of their games recently and they've become so sloppy. Everton are a solid unit but also enable Pickford to rack up the saves (you're a member, check the tables). Even when they get 'thrashed' he gets a decent score.

Plus I'll have to sell Pope soon anyway so surely doing it in a fixture swing like MUN to Pickford(WBA) is the time to cash in.

Unsure what to do, decent team but theres a few things i could fix i think..

    Foster,

    Ogbonna,Alonso,Ota
    Son,Salah,Sterling,Arnie,Lingard
    Kane,Firminio

    Elliot, DCL,Mee,Mbemba

    1.2 mil 2FTs,

    Mee>Jones
    DCL>Someone cheaper
    any others?

Want to save an ft as there isn't anything pressing although Kun is tempting me but it would have to be a -4.

    Any thoughts?

Draft league question appreciate any help: Have

    A) Chadli (who ll be out at least until late Feb and have no idea if he ll return in time, but if he returns he ll be regular starter) and

    B) Lamela (who ll maybe start a few games until the end). Both on the bench from the beginning but now is the time to drop one of them (or both if i find decent replacements).

    Who would you drop first?

I can’t work out who is more important. Aguero or Firmino.

That said, I play a 451 or 352 and have an easy way to get Firm in without ruining my mid.
