In just under a fortnight, on Saturday 24th February, around 30 Fantasy Football Scout community members will be putting away their keyboards and dusting off their replica kits as they get ready to play a round-robin, seven-a-side charity football tournament.

The event takes place at Hendon Football Centre, Barnet, NW9 5PE, between 12-3pm and has been organised by myself and TopMarx.

The day is being staged in memory of Simon Humber, who lost his battle with ocular melanoma in 2015. Simon was the creative director of EA’s FIFA team, a Portsmouth FC fan and a popular member of the Fantasy Football Scout community as ‘Absinthe’.

All the money raised will go to The Melanoma Research Foundation – a charity identified and verified in our recent contact with Simon’s family.

More information about Simon, together with an opportunity to donate, is available at this Just Giving page.

Please note that donations are expressed in dollars, rather than pounds, so a donation of $10 will be around £7.20 (based on the exchange rate on the morning of 12th February 2018).

The current squad lists (which may vary on the day) are below, but even if you are not playing or spectating please spare a few moments and a few quid by clicking on the Just Giving link and making a donation.

In addition to donations, a strict punitive system will be operated on the day with fines in place for diving, being nutmegged, late tackles and anything else the FFScout community can suggest. We are hoping to get some footage of the matches but can’t promise Sky Sports standard broadcasting.

      dont do A, IMO

choose your city and sell the other to fund Firmino or Vardy (as a Wilson owner here but many fires to put first)

Vardy's on a run but no room at the inn for most. Deulofeu is a nice differential. I've got a hunch Eriksen might put some scores together too.

    Current team:

    Pope
    Alonso Otamendi Mee (Dunk Mariappa)
    Son Sterling Salah Shaqiri Walcott
    (Depoitre) Kane Firmino

2 FT and 0,5m in bank.

Thinking Son and Depoitre TO Vardy and 5,1m midfielder.

    Thoughts?.

Can I make up 165 points in 11 GWs? I thought I could until I actually calculated it to needing to win by 15 points every game week.

I still have WC, FH and BB
    He only has BB

Some posters last year suggested to use WC earlier to gain and close the gap if way behind and build the template by using FTs. If we could apply this theory, how much will we know once FA cups games this weekend are played. Would that strategy be feasible ? How much will we really know? Thanks troops

      Great!!
      Just what i was thinking.
Really looking for triple Pool, Vardy/Mahrez, fix defence (dont ask lol), selling Sxz, Lingard, Alonso and some city.

The big question mark is Carabao Cup Final.
If we WC for 28 and keep City/Arsenal because of future fixtures, we better dont get inj, or even some City rotation on big guns - they wil play 25/02 (after 28deadline), 01/03 Ars away, 04/03 chelsea at home, 07/03 Cl 2nd leg 🙁

Not planning to get any Arsenal yet. Could only have 2 cities and strong bench. I don't think KDB will be rested anytime soon. He makes them tick.

It’s a viable plan, particularly if you plan to play TC in 34.

Get 7-8 GW31 starters and 7-8 DGW34 starters. Then use FTs 32-34 to get 11 for DGW34 using TC. Play BB in 37.

no FH chip and thinking in BB 34 and TC37, as "usually".
Why u think is a better option to do it reverse? (If WC on 28)

34 a lot more predictable for TC as teams playing for everything. Sanchez could have WBA and whu. Kane could have NEW and MCI.

In 37 City have good fixtures but league will be won and rotation rife.

If you WC 32, then easier to get 13-14 DGW players for 34 so BB makes sense.

If you WC 28, then realistically you will have 11 DGW players for 34 (given planning for 31 blank). But you have more time to get 13-14 DGW players for 37z

          1. rjcv177

            many thanks.
I like to plan ahead for WC previous DGWs, but this lack of Pool players is causing me problems for near fixtures 🙁

Get 3 Pool players and stick with them till the end of the season. They will outscore many DGW players.

All depends how Pep will look at PremierLeague, even after wrapped up.
If he goes for records, KDB is better than Eriksen.

If they get a good fixture after Basel (good as gone) he'll PROBABLY rotate to give a chance at CL title.

Eriksen might be out of CLs earlier and the NEED to fight for those runner-up spots

if city get through next round of cl i can see massive rotation in the league games he will try to get the quad this season with the league and league cup virtually in the bag he will play his strongest team in cl and fa cup games owning any city players will be a rotation risk

Unless Alonso and Hazard do something special tonight, I'm planning on getting rid with this triple transfer for a 4 point hit:

Ayew -> Aguero, Hazard -> Arnautovic, Alonso -> Mbemba

I already used my Bench Boost, so it will make picking my lineup easier to have a 5th defender who doesn't play. And I'd be left with 0.4m.

this isn't hindsight but I always thought that was the case. Conte isn't the first manager to say a struggling player is "injured" in order to take them out of the firing line.

I suspect Giroud starts and Morata comes off the bench... which is hardly a "big" call on my part.

Love this idea and shame I can't be there - although it's probably good for my 'rep' because I am absolutely hopeless at football.
Will be making a donation. Hope you all have a fantastic time!

Amazing that you've organised this, I remember seeing the first posts suggesting it as an idea, great to see it coming to fruition.

      Thanks, Bubz.

A chance to show off our (lack of) football prowess, an opportunity to meet others on the FFScout community and perhaps enjoy a post-game pint or two and, most importantly, a very worthy cause.

      Winner all round.

    Fabianski
    Van Dijk, Alonso, Otamendi, Jones
    Salah, Sterling, Walcott, Shaqiri
    Aguero, Firmino
    Subs: Gomes, Ogbonna, Quaner, RLC

    2 ft, 1.8 itb.

    early thoughts about this lot?
Planning to do Aguero -> Kane, which leaves 0.9 itb.
Can take a -4 if necessary

Initial thoughts are Christensen -> VVD, good call?

    Fab / Adrian
    Jones / Otamendi / Alonso / Christensen* / Duffy
    Salah / Sterling / Wally / Shaqiri / Chupo
    Kane / Firminio / Wilson

How does this look for a WC team this week?

    Pope | Fabianski
Davies | Van Dijk | Jones | Mee | Bauer
    KDB | Salah | Eriksen | Ramsey | Doucoure
    Kane | Firmino | Ayew

Need a Replacement for Otamendi to rotate with Mee...

    Other Defenders:
    Jones-Monreal-Vertonghen and playing 4-4-2

    Any suggestions????
