As we enter the final ten Gameweeks of the season, finding ways to differentiate our sides from those our rivals around us becomes more and more difficult to achieve.

With a combined eight midfielders and forwards boasting an ownership of over 20% within the top 10,000 managers, and the Gameweek 31 blank promoting assets with guaranteed fixtures that weekend, many of us now appear to have converged upon a similar squad structure.

In such a circumstance, the decision of captaincy allocation – that ever-crucial decision to a manager’s Gameweek – becomes magnified in its importance.

Last week saw an incredible 91% of top-10k managers place the armband onto either Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah or Spurs’ Harry Kane. Salah held a convincing lead over his rival in terms of backers (73.7% vs 17.6%) and though both players provided goals, it was the Egyptian who ultimately emerged victorious with a haul of 10 points to Kane’s six.

Looking forward, however, who do the numbers support as our prime captaincy option over the final few Gameweeks of the season?

This is a farce. There should be 15 minutes stoppage time.

Please god I hope they don't use VAR for the world cup

BT Sport etc don't know football rules. I could be a better pundit FFS. You can't stop in your run-up during a penalty kick.

Feinting to kick the ball once the kicker has completed the run-up (feinting in the run-up is permitted); the referee cautions the kicker.

Son feinted in the run-up. It was the wrong call.

Love VAR. Don't care about delays - care about the right result. Son broke the rules so his goal was rightfully disallowed.

When your team gets relegated because they lost those points because of a dodgy decision and there is no VAR don't be complaining.

    The Law says..

Feinting in the run-up to take a penalty kick to confuse opponents is permitted as part of football. However, feinting to kick the ball once the player has completed his run-up is considered an infringement of Law 14 and an act of unsporting behaviour for which the player must be cautioned."

But Son stuttered in the run up... NOT while kicking the ball. That should not have been disallowed!

Did Son stop still? Are you allowed stop still and then start running again before shooting?

I suppose it depends on whether stopping counts merely as feinting. I disagree that her stuttered - to me he look like he stopped to pose for a statue.

Yeah. Completed his run up. Didn't shoot. Took another run-up (okay a couple of steps) and shot.

Is that the only relevant law on the matter? Genuinely curious.
