This afternoon we can reveal the 256 managers to make it through to the second round of our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League Cup competition.

Round one took place in  Gameweek 30, where the average score was a record-low 41 points and saw six former champions depart.

Sleepysi, who has a top 5,000 rank, was beaten comfortably 45-28 by BowenArrow, who is 39,664 places behind him. Similarly, Gribude, who is in 8,221 spot, also lost to a lower-placed manager, with Kirton Hoops’s 53,933-ranked troops prevailing.

Mark (rank 47,814) also succumbed to a giant killer with 458,382-placed Khumz defeating him.

Goonerdave’s 40-point score was not enough to overcome 2 Girls 1 Shlup’s tally of 53, while my 1,790-ranked squad lost out narrowly 43-42 to Balldontlie (47,758).

CMIFLFC is another former champion to miss out, having lost 48-34 to Jon Nurse. This was unsurprising given their overall positions, with Jon Nurse in 6,030 place, while CMIFLFC was among the five lowest-ranked managers in the first round  and is currently languishing in 1,975,888 spot.

The four ex-winners to progress to Gameweek 31’s second round include reigning champion TH14 (rank 8,130) who has been handed a kind draw against 224,940 placed Ilovebaps.

A Manager Has No Name has an evenly-matched encounter with horlicks esq. Just 1,284 separates these top 3,000-ranked managers.

However, MCH (rank 99,442) has a far tougher task as he squares up to 1,570 placed The dinkum donuts. Wild Rover is also a second round underdog, as his 99,962-ranked side sits 66,404 places behind opponent Gloria Kanchelskis.

Another manager facing a tough draw is 67,157-ranked graqfreak, who takes on the competition’s highest placed manager thisisdiz, who moves up to 38th spot after scoring an impressive 61 points in Gameweek 30.

Other notable match-ups include a veteran poster clash between colonel shoe (rank 55,207) and Optimus (296,931).

Following his victory over former champion GoonerDave, 2 girls 1 Shlup will be hoping to claim another high profile victim when he takes on our resident tech expert matzi11a (rank 2,662).

The full first round results can be found here, while the second round draw can be found here.

Is it possibly worth taking a hit on Kane now to bring in one of Aubameyang / Lukaku if you're WC'ing in 32 and really don't wanna lose the 0.2 - 0.4 if you don't? That 0.2 - 0.4 could actually make a pretty big difference and stop me having the WC team i really want.

    A - Kane > one of Aubameyang/Kaku now -4
B - Take the Auba/Kaku rises along with Kane drops and compromise with WC squad?

    Thoughts? Thanks.

Surely just take a hit to bring in someone playing in 31. Then just Wildcard in 32.

I am fielding 10 for no hits or maybe 11 for -4. It's just whether or not to move Kane now with his imminent drop/drop's and with both Auba and Kaku rising tonight and probably again before 32? As i said 0.2 - 0.4 possible loss? Is that worth a -4 is the question? Thanks.

I understand where your coming from, I bought Kane at 12.4... and slightly reluctant to lose anymore team value for my wildcard.

Yeah, I get it too, although it seems to be an unfashionable pov round these parts. I also got Kane for 12.4 and I think the chance of him dropping again before Saturday will decide whether or not I transfer him out this week (for Mounie, probably) for a -4. It's such a coin-flip anyway, that I figure the loss of yet more value (I've lost a little these past few weeks) would be the tipping point. And it's even more value for you, and you've got lots out this week anyway. It makes some kind of sense, but I probably still wouldn't.

Yeah we're in a very similar scenario, I will most likely just transfer for mounie and, and just go accordingly from there onwards

This ^...i might well really need the extra 0.3 or whatever? Looking at my early draft for 32...i defo will?

Honestly, I wouldn't. Most people who have had a go at drafting the gw32 WCs already haven't been coming back saying, "Hmm, this might be tight." I reckon if your TV is okay you'll *always* have options when you come to WC. This is a really tough gameweek and it's probably not worth it. But I totally get why you're tempted. Good luck!

You're right and i probably won't but want to hear other people's thoughts on it. It is tempting especially in my position in my cash ML's, am currently lying in 2nd and 4th but i am the only player who has all his chips still intact and my 2nd WC and also with no need to FH this week with 10 fielded for no hits. The vast majority of my rivals have used at least 2 of their chips or their 2nd WC already and this week will either be taking double figure hits, fielding only 5-7 players or even WC'ing now as only have 3/4 GW31 players!! It's a -4 move that could essentially play into my hands even more in the grand scheme of things? Mmm...still tempted i guess?!! Good luck to you too and thanks for your logical replies!! 😉

effectively you are wasting a transfer on Mounie this week rather than Lukaku when both have the same number of games to go ? The extra game you get if you transfer in Mounie now and Lukaku next week is offset by the extra transfer that you use ... it’s a pay off of one Mounie game against one transfer .... in many ways it is very logical

Would a gw32 wild card offset this point though? It resets the transfer thing, and the player would get the extra Mounie game plus whatever extra games from the players bought on wc, without having to spend that extra transfer.

Yes but I think it is those without a WC planning for DGW players rather than a player in BGW31 that they don’t want ?

No wonder there are ludicrous price rises going on with this kind of thinking.
Why would anyone want to transfer a player in that doesn't play this week?

Do you think this team would be good enough for GW32?

    Butland (ars)
van Dijk (cry), Dawson (BUR), Schindler (new)
Salah (cry), Eriksen (che), Shaqiri (ars), Pritchard (new)
Aubameyang (STK), Firmino (cry), Wilson (wat)

Elliot | Walcott (MCI), Coleman (MCI), Daniels (wat)

I could field this XI with Kane > Aubameyang next week.

Or better to play the wildcard? Not sure if GW32 or 33 is the better time.
    Could include Arsenal defender/mid v Stoke..., Mahrez/Vardy/Lei def v Brighton, Lukaku/de Gea v Swansea.

Why the consensus here is to WC at GW32?? to of the teams that you will want in your teams meet each other (Chelsea and Spurs). Liverpool have nice Ficture at GW32 and we all got 3 of them, also BOU, and if you save some leicister players i think with 1 FT or maybe hit u can handle 1 more week till WC.

    Arnie+Son >> Stanislas+Zaha good moves? 2FTs.

Leaves 9 Players. I could also ship Duffy, Christensen and/or Kane for hits. Likely to WC 32/33.

    Pickford
    VVD - Kiko
    Salah(C) - Choupo - Stanislas - Zaha
    Firmino - Wilson

(Elliot, Mahrez, Otamendi, Duffy, Christensen, Kane)

This seems reasonable. Kane replacements are lottery tickets but I think I will still need to ship him out as he is dropping in price and is not going to be a part of my wc team.

Looks like I’m gonna have to settle for Wilson over King, just done a rough transfer plan as I have no wc or freehit available and the extra 1.1m can get me Son for gw33.

Yes. I did something similar when I picked Choupo-Mooting over Shaqiri to then be able to get Mahrez the week after only for Mahrez to then go on strike as miss 2 weeks. Bad luck I know, but I did over plan and it back fired big time! Choupo has blanked ever since where as Shaq has hurt me bad

For GW32 wild card, the latter players would be benched most weeks but come into play during the bench boost.

I am thinking of going Aubameyang Firmino and Lukaku up front with Salah Son Mahrez Groß and Kennedy in midfield. Not sure if that helps. I would possibly do 1 but in my case would lose lot of Firmino value and have concerns that once League down up can see Silva rested for CL

I will likely keep Firmino because I bought at 8.5m and he is 9.5m now but am concerned about rotation if LIV make a deep run in the CL and two away fixtures in 32/33 (Crystal Palace/Eve) don't look that appealing as Hodgson and Allardyce are both capable of parking the bus.

Given a choice, which would you prefer?

      A 4pts?
B 0.4 extra team value for a WC?

      Thanks.

They need to score at least 1.

Could be way more than that if they play an open game.

Thoughts on Jordon Ibe? Had him in my team for a while now but not sure he will play this week.

Isit worth shipping for a hit to Shaqiri?

No wc so don’t want to get rid of my other mids, Salah Sane Mahrez Mkhi
