The Premier League have belatedly revealed a number of rescheduled fixtures to confirm Double Gameweek 34.

However, the news is not quite what many had anticipated, with only eight teams set to play twice.

Indeed, just one of the matches postponed in Gameweek 31 due to FA Cup matches – Burnley vs Chelsea – has so far been rescheduled.

This is joined by three matches shifted out of Gameweek 35 for similar reasons – Brighton vs Spurs, Bournemouth vs Man United and Leicester vs Southampton.

Essentially, then, the eight sides facing a Double Gameweek 34, and their subsequent schedules, are as follows.

Confirmed Double Gameweek 34 schedule
Bournemouth (liv MUN)
Brighton (cry TOT)
Burnley (LEI CHE)
Chelsea (sot bur)
Leicester (bur SOT)
Man United (WBA bou)
Southampton (CHE lei)
Spurs (MCI bha)

Of the eight, Burnley are the only side to play two home matches in this round.

Up against Leicester and Chelsea at Turf Moor in Gameweek 34, though, Sean Dyche’s men hardly have it easy. Indeed, they are one of three teams – along with Bournemouth and Southampton – to face top eight opponents on both occasions.

However, Burnley are the only Double Gameweek 34 outfit to also play in Gameweek 35, when they make their way to Stoke.

Meanwhile, Man United are the only side to go up against opponents outwith the top eight, while just one team – Chelsea – hit the road on two occasions.

As a result of today’s announcement, the following matches still require a new date.

Chelsea vs Huddersfield
Leicester vs Arsenal
Man City vs Brighton
Swansea vs Southampton
Tottenham vs Newcastle
West Ham vs Man United

The Premier League have confirmed that these will be rescheduled by Tuesday April 3 – before Gameweek 33 – though it is anticipated that 12 teams will now face a Double Gameweek 37.

We will have more reaction and analysis of the implications on today’s announcement later, with a series of articles over the next week ahead of the Gameweek 32 deadline on Saturday March 31.

I have bench boost, triple captain, free hit and wild card left. When the hell do I play them all!?

Same as myself and I'm lost to be honest. And I'm 5th in ML with only one other rival with all chips. Most have used one two or all of them so really have a chance of winning if only I knew right way to go about it.

Early thoughts on this WC? (BB 34, FH35, TC37)

    DDG - Ryan
    Chistensen - Smalling - Morgan - Lowton - Tarkowski
    Salah - Son - Willian - Mahrez - Gross
    Auba - Vardy - Barnes

    2.9m itb.

If Kane isnt back for 34:
Auba + Tarkowski ----> Lukaku +Spurs def for free

If Kane is back anmd looks like starting both gw34 fixtures:
    Auba + Vardy + Son ----> Kane + Lukaku + 6m mid (will have to take a hit, -4)

    Cheers 🙂

    Bottomed.

So with the news about gw34 I’m looking for some advise what to do with my squad. No WC available and I used my ft to do Wilson > Auba earlier in the week.

Probably looking at using Bench Boost in gw37 as it’s my only chip left.

    Ryan Adrian
    Davies Maguire VVD Schindler Francis
    Salah Sane Mahrez Mkhi Ibe
    Auba Firmino Mounie

    Cheers

The fact that gw37 is a bigger gw than 34, we'll need maximum players from 34 into 37 who play in both weeks.
Also people sticking with Auba in 32, 33 will already have a planned transfer for 34.

I was on Firmino earlier, just think getting Vardy in now is better as I wouldnt have to waste a transfer later as we'll have only 2 fts to get players in for 37.

For me it comes down to Auba or Firmino as a non dgw striker to get rid of in 34.
Im on Auba atm, because no Europe.

Just think there are better options than Firmino.

I meant if you think Auba and Firmino outscore Lukaku and Vardy in the next 2, you could go with them and use 2 FT to swap to Lukaku and Vardy in 34.

For the ones planning BB34 but not FH35, he is a perfect option. In my opinion there will be only 2-3 DGWers that will score more than Firmino in GW34 (If he plays btw)

How risky would it be to try to plan for a BB GW37 now?

McCarthy, Kenedy, Stephens, Morgan on the bench and then have the rest of your team Chelsea/United/Spurs/Leicester

Is going without firmino crazy if chasing? Currently looking at a front 3 of murray, Aub and lukaku. Would love to have the big 3 up top but the balance isn't quite right

Unless you think he will be rested for a league match due to CL quarterfinals against City, his next few fixtures (and form) make it difficult to drop him. For those who bought at 8.5m (like me), you are also selling at 9m and basically saying, with 2 months (8 gameweeks) to go, that you are not going to buy him back. Tough pill to swallow.

              1. MTPockets
                  7 years, 11 months ago

I get that, but it's the Salah argument. To do that for a second player when (assuming 35 FH) he'll have two fewer games isn't optimal to me.

I bought firm at 9.5 so can take that. I want lukaku for gw32 and 34 so he's in. Aub is a good differential for me. Vardy is tempting but is just mahrez enough. Lot of tinkering to be had now

Without FH, so difficult to navigate 34/35. A bench boost in 37 looks possibly the better option, but also contains by far the best TC option. On the other hand, how the hell would you manage a BB in 34 and then no FH in 35?

Start bringing in GW35 blank players now with my FTs.

FH 34 to load up on players with doubles.

Get my team filled with single gameweek players back for 35. Triple captain punt.

There's isn't a consensus yet. I'd suggest holding fire on any decisions right now and to wait for the dust to settle.

It'll give yourself or someone else more to to analyse the fixtures & play around with what you could do with your team.

Plenty of suggestions will be posted...

Kane 37 TC looks juicy and bar the swa disappointment getting 37 and Auba looking a bit weaker with no 34 double not that much has really changed to make 34BB look dramatically less appealing.

No, McCarthy is an option too but Ryan has a great 33, and for DDG's that will be handy.

Nope - could go quality and buy in Courtois or Lloris

So Kane (or Son) have NEW, wba?

Why are some people with all chips left asking where to play them? That's TC nailed down anyway.

Probably McCarthy. 0.1m cheaper than Ryan and don't see many points coming from either really.

We certainly now need Virg on the Scout Cast to help us navigate his FH GW37 strategy 🙂

IMO waiting until Gameweek 36 or 37 to Wildcard is a non starter, even BB will be very hard. Most teams will be winding down, most things will be settled. Lots of rotation, including into 38.

My wildcard is active now for the last 6 weeks (Yes forget 35 which is for the Free Hit). That allows for 2 FTs pre 34 and 37. That plan should suit anyone with their Free Hit still in play.

              DDG (Ryan)
              Smalling, Alonso, Lowton (Morgan, Dunk)
              Salah, Willian, Hazard, Mahrez (Gudmunson)
              Murray, Aub, Vardy

0.2 in bank. Wildcard currently active.

Any changes you'd make? If Kane is back in time I can downgrade someone else and upgrade Aub. If Kane isn't back I'll probably take out Aub for Lukaku/ in form double game week player just before GW34.

I know a lot of negativity towards people still with Firmino but he is the No.3 highest scoring attacker in FPL and I for one bought him at £8.5m and he would now cost £9.7m.

If I knew he would play every game for the rest of the season I wouldn't consider selling him, but if I keep him and he doesn't play DGW34 that's a big loss vs buying in Vardy, let alone if he has reduced minutes for other games

I'd love to keep him but think with 2 more games & Firmino's probable rotation or restricted minutes around CL it has to be Vardy.

              Current WC:

              DDG

              Alonso - Morgan - Lowton

              Salah - Son - Willian - Mhki - Mahrez

              Auba - Vardy

              (Ryan - Barnes - Tarkowski - Dunk)

              .1 ITB

              Auba + Mhki > Lukaku + 7.0 mid in GW34
