We continue our series of Monitor members’ articles on Gameweek 34 targets by assessing Brighton and Hove Albion schemer, Pascal Gross.

Although Mohamed Salah has redefined the term “successful debut season”, the German’s rookie campaign deserves its share of recognition.

Following a summer arrival from FC Ingolstadt, Gross has proven himself a standout candidate among budget midfield options. The playmaker has quickly earned a reputation as a premium creative force at the Premier League level, racking up some of the most impressive creativity metrics of any player.

Moreover, with two Double Gameweeks – one confirmed for Gameweek 34, and the latter expected to fall in or around Gameweek 37 – still to come this season, Gross is set to remain at the forefront of plans, with or without the Wildcard at our disposal.

      Personally doing A.also with this team i prefer vert to bailley coz I can play lowton vs WBA and bench vert which is not possible with bailley. And in gw33 u can play vert

    Basically, getting DDG isn’t enough to cover Man Utd, as everyone has him. So you’re not making any ground with that move.

    So, instead what about double Chelsea. Alonso + Christensen (instead of Smalling)?

    Very tempted if it’s confirmed fit before deadline which it sounds like it will. Thoughts?

    Repost here guys, hardly any replies.
    Bit of help here if you could please? I have no FH chip left, so just trying to accommodate more players that have 2 DGW's.

    For reference, team is:

    DDG - XXX
    XXX - Alonso - XXX - Morgan - Lowton
    Son - Salah - XXX - Mahrez - Willian
    Firmino - Aubameyang

    Which option from these two would you prefer?

    A) Pope - Otamendi - Robertson - D.Silva
    (This is what i currently have)

    B) Lloris - Bailly - Mustafi - Gudmundsson
    (This leaves 2.1 ITB! leaning towards this more)

    Just a bit concerned about Pope & Heaton situation, and the Otamendi and Silva rotation show.

    Any responses much appreciated.

        Yeah, Silva will just be a lottery now if he plays or doesn’t, i’m best getting rid.
        Oh, Barnes is the third forward. I just really don’t like Brighton’s fixtures. Plus Barnes plays in 35.

    Can't decide the best course of action. On Wildcard and number of players for each GW in brackets. No TC.

    A) FH34 (22), 35 (11), BB37 (26)
    B) BB34 (27), FH35 (11), 37 (22)

    A) Pros to FH in 34
    1 less game overall but way better GW32 and GW33 (heavy on Arsenal and Pool to cover GW35)
    Free shot at Kane and Lukaku for GW34 without carrying them through rest of the season
    Can hold Firmino and Salah until GW37 then drop for DGW'ers

    B) Pros to FH in 35
    Gives City assets for 1 week punt
    Spurs assets for 1 week (34) (avoiding Spurs v Chelsea on my WC)
    Potential to Max out with 13x DGW'ers for GW34

    So W/C active, BB and FH still in the bank.

    DDG - Pope
    Alonso - Smalling - TAA - Morgan - Lowton
    Alli - Son - Salah - Mahrez - Gros
    Auba - Wood - Firmino

    0.2m ITB

    Gives me 11 DGW for 34 plus the benchboost.

    I can do 4 transfers in 35 (-8) and have 10 players

    So GW 35 - Smalling, Morgan, Alli, Gros > Mustafi, Tomkins, Silva, Ramsey

    FH in 37 and look to bring in Kane, City Players and Hazard etc.

    Rationale for this is that everyone is trying to load up on double double players now, so city, arsenal assets etc may well become differentials in 37.

    Most who have the FH will play it in 35 and those who don't have no choice but to stock up on double doubles and take a few hits.

    Also I'm sure that more than a few will have to carry some cheap filler players from 34 through to 37 that don't double up (Burnley, Bournemouth etc)

    My risks right are no Lukaku and I'm not sure if Smalling is nailed, I'm considering Smalling to say Dunk which would give me enough to upgrade Auba to Lukaku for 34 but then there's another transfer I have to do in 35.

    Thoughts?

      This is what I'm thinking, however I'm thinking of going with 3x Arsenal on my WC now and holding Salah and Firmino and using FH in 34. The risk with FH in 37 is rotation and lack of anything to play for.

      Stocking up on a few DGW37 assets now (Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Utd) and ensuring I have 11 for GW35.

        Thought about that way as well. But I decided to focus on the short term so 32-35 with the wc. That way if things change dramatically for 37 I've got the fh to at least take a stab at it. Also I'm chasing in my ml. Everyone has played there fh so essentially I know what they will do for the rest of the season in terms of chips and players. Gives me a chance to try and catch overtake the guy at the top

          Yep fair call, I am also looking at short term 32-35 and WC'ing now with a FH in 35 ensures I have 11 for 35 and kind of allows me to build a pretty strong lineup in the non-DGW rounds (32, 33 and 35).

          For me I guess it comes down to which players I want in 35 vs 34 using the FH.

    Nice article on Gross, he's someone I've been considering, nailed on to play both while I have small doubts over Willian and Son due to the semi final at the weekend.

    Fixture wise, Palace and SPURS looks equal to CITY and Brighton or Burnley and Southampton, they all have one hard game each but his hard game is at home where they've been strong.

    Is there anyone else who thinks Spurs two games look the worst out of the three?

      If City win the title till 34 and Brighton reach the 40 point mark then arguably Spurs have the best fixtures in GW34.

            Chelsea didn't need to keep momentum going to take them into the key stages of the European Cup.

            Huge difference, doubt Pep will look to lose momentum/form/confidence so they go into those games at a disadvantage.

    Davies can get attacking returns but Alonso at home seems better...Wilson has been shitty & Arsenal's leaky defence is the cause for considering Shaqiri.
