Many Fantasy Eliteserien managers will be eager to move on to the next set of fixtures and forget a disastrous Gameweek 2, which was dogged by surprise benching, underperforming stars and the weather getting the better of  Tromsø’s clash with Stromsgodset.

But before we look ahead to Gameweek 3 let’s catch up on the latest developments regarding double Gameweeks.

Double Gameweek Updates

A number of postponed games have now been rescheduled and we can get to planning our double gameweeks properly.

Gameweek 4 Doubles:
VÃ¥lerenga – Strømsgodset
Tromsø – Ranheim
Sandefjord – Stabæk
Sandefjord – Ranheim
Tromsø – Strømsgodset

Gameweek 6 Doubles:
Brann – Stabæk
Lillestrøm – Ranheim
Rosenborg – Start
Stabæk – Start
Ranheim – Brann

Gameweek 3 Preview

All but one game starts on Monday at 5:00 P.M and as  usual the team sheets will be out before deadline, so there is lots of room to make inspired 11th hour moves.

Bodø/Glimt – FK Haugesund
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
Bodø have spent their easter sharpening their goal-threat, while Haugesund have made a major defensive signing. With the extra signing we are once again looking at a possibility of Stølås at Haugesund playing out of position, while Gytkjær picked up another two goals in a mid-easter friendly. New signing Benjamin Karamoko from St.Etienne comes in at 5.0 but it may pay to wait to see if he will be a regular starter. We are backing Bodø as a slight favorite here, with loads of goal-threat in Opseth, Saltnes and a likely return of Trond Olsen on the wing. Jens Petter Hauge has looked sharped so far, although he started on the bench against Brann.

IK Start – Sandefjord
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
Sandefjord have had a terrible winter, and that continued as they lost to a tier two team in a friendly this easter. They have made a potentially strong move signing Watford defender Andrew Eleftheriou on loan, but this game should come too soon to punt on him. This leaves IK Start massive favorites, and we are  looking to Floki, Kabran and penalty taker Larsen as the best picks in this encounter.

Kristiansund BK – Lillestrøm
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
This game is very hard to call. Kristiansund came close to getting all three points against Rosenborg last time out, despite being dominated for most of the game. Gjertsen and Bamba should be the major threat from Kristiansund, with Stoke is sidelined a few more weeks. Lehne Olsen is facing a race to be fit for this one, but he’s not far off. Melgalvis was surprisingly benched, but came on to score a goal. Maric had a nightmare of a game, and has been a big disappointment. We wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the bench soon.

Molde – Tromsø
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
Molde assets could be this week’s highest scorers with the team  overflowing with possible picks. There are worries Sarr will be suspended by the club (or benched) due to other circumstances, so we advise you steer clear despite the increased ownership so far. Linde is the prime option in goal, while we look at several names moving forward, in Hestad, Brustad, Aursnes and Amang. Be wary of rotation, Chima scored his first goal in a friendly, Wadji scored in both friendlies during the break and Haaland scored a hat-trick for Norway U19.

Tromsø options are dodgy for this game, but some picks might be worth while preparing for DGW, in Morten Gamst-Pedersen, Gjermund Åsen or Lasse Nilsen.

Ranheim – Stabæk
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
Ranheim line up for their Eliteserien debut almost a month after everyone else as they host Stabæk. All eyes are on this game to weigh up the potential double Gameweek picks from both teams, with Barli, Tønne and Karlsen at Ranheim playing theirs next Gameweek, and Stabæk completing a great run of promising fixtures from this round up until their double Gameweek 6, as Ohi, Boli, Hou Sæter and Brochmann look to score big. Ranheim will be without key man Mads Reginiussen, who picked up an injury in training that will keep him out for around three to six weeks.

Sarpsborg 08 – VÃ¥lerenga
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
These are two teams decidedly on track so far this season. We look to home advantage to separate them, in what should be a close match. A slight injury worry for Amin Askar cools prospects there, but Zachariassen remains a top choice. Mortensen is the safe striker choice.

Vålerenga also offer up some enticing options, with Ejuke, Johnson, Tollås Nation and Juklerød all having delivered so far. Johnson in particular looks a  good Fantasy option.

Strømsgodset – Brann
(Monday, 5:00 P.M.)
Strømsgodset disappointed in the first Gameweek, before having their second game called off. Brann on the other hand looked solid (but nothing more) against Bodø/Glimt. Jradi and Pedersen are the standout picks for Strømsgodset, as well as Ulland Andersen when he’s back. There have been some suggestions that he won’t be out for long. Wormgoor showed his value scoring a penalty and receiving maximum bonus points, while Skålevik returned a goal. Haugen looked central to Brann’s attack, while Koomson had an okay debut. We’ll back Strømsgodset to win here on home turf.

Odd – Rosenborg
(Monday, 7:00 P.M.)
This is the main match of the day in our opinion. Rosenborg have failed to live up to their hype and reputation, leaving many lamenting a quarter of their budget tied up in blanking players. Things do not look easier as they go away to Odd, a team that traditionally has a good grip on Rosenborg, and who, despite a poor start, have proved likely to score in every game.

All eyes are on the Helland vs. Kitolano duel down the right flank, with the usual suspects, such as Bendtner on people’s mind from Rosenborg. Adegbenro limped off in a friendly vs. Ranheim this week, and is expected to be out for about six weeks. De Lanlay might be a differential pick if it becomes clear he is out.

Close looks at Børven and Rashani at Odd is tickling some people’s imagination, with Kitolano still a cheep option despite some indications he might be rotation-prone soon. Despite everything, Rosenborg are still favorites here.

Scout Picks

We finally have a full league to pick from, and think these line-ups could provide some sorely needed points to a few managers out there.

Niemi’s picks for Gameweek 3

Linde

Thanks lads for all your hard work from three Eliteserien devotees on the tiny island of Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand. We loved last season and are more hyped up about this season than we are about FPL - mostly because we're pretty rubbish at FPL - cheers!

Well, we can use this post for it? No standout option this GW IMO, that's why I might take a chance on Kabran. Helland and Pedersen my other alternatives.

Got my current armband on Floki, counting on Sandefjord keeping up their sad defending. What is your opinion on Floki vs Kabran?

(K)abran here. It's nice that it seems like players from lesser teams are more viable as captains in Eliteserien, compared to FPL where it's pretty much Salah or Kane every week.

Yeah, I agree. At least until Rosenborg/Strømsgodset start to deliver every week.

Sandefjord are really poor at the moment, and Kabran looked REALLY good in GW1.

Odd have signed Vebjørn Hoff (CM) and Birk Risa (LB/LM) today. Not good news for Kaasa and Kitolano owners. Not saying they'll be benched, but definitely more competition.

After thinking about it surely Risa has been bought as a winger. He's also been given number 9 at Odd. Might be worth watching if they classify him as a defender.

Will keep an eye on those two. Kitolano is good value, but might want to upgrade if competition or rotation looks likely.

Note that DeLanlay from Rosenborg has been returning from a thigh injury, there is question if he is fit enough to step right in, or if they'll prefer to play Levi on his "off" wing.

Levi in line to start on Monday apparently.

If Levi was in the starting eleven every week, he'd go straight into my team. Looks like a promising player, who's not afraid to challenge defenders on that right hand side.

I agree, but I can't see Levi play every game with Adegbenro out. De Lanlay will surely get a few starts.

Exactly. Levi will most likely play until De Lanlay is fit (don't know if he is yet), or getting subbed in (or out) with De Lanlay.

De Lanlay started the same friendly Adegbenro got injured in. He's fit, but probably not 100% match fit after a long injury.

Did Levi play? Didn't know De Lanlay played that match, actually. Don't know if I'm confident enough to take a punt on him, though.

No, he was away with Sweden U21. Helland started on the bench and came on at half time.

According to Adresseavisen (local media) Levi is likely to start on Monday ahead of De Lanlay, that's enough to stay away for me.

Of course, should have guessed he'd been away on international duty. Won't be surprised if Levy plays 60-75 mins, with De Lanlay coming on for some much needed game time.

Will go for Adegbenro>Kabran, and keep Bendtner/Hansen as the only RBK cover for time being. In saying that, Helland will definitely score this GW!

I'm not even sure Bakenga will start.. Vuk probably the starter now together with Espejord, but depending on formation/form. Kastrati the starter at Sandefjord (with competition from Engblom), while Karlsen is the starter at Ranheim (but good competition from Helmersen)

Amang "only" a rotation risk. You'll have lineups before deadline, so if you have plan B ready you'll be fine

With "only" a mill it's hard. Ideally you'd want Pedersen for the double. Failing that there is in order:
            - Ohi for the other DGW
            - Kastrati punt for coming DGW
            - Floki for good Start fixtures and DGW

I agree with this. Pedersen, Ohi and Floki the most tempting right now, as well as Opseth (no double for him though). I'm not sure Kastrati will play both during the DGW, so I wouldn't go there.. But if he does then surely he could be a good pick.

Wouldn’t Skålevik be a better pick than Floki? Better fixtures in the DGW and plays for a better team.

Floki more nailed and better fixtures over the next few GWs. Skålevik better during the DGW of course, might end up with both.

Bodø/Glimt buys midfielder/forward Philip Zinckernagel from Sønderjyske https://www.tv2.no/sport/9772065/

I'm definitely looking at them. Had Opseth at the start. My plan was to WC him out after GW4, but had to (IMO) WC early. I'm afraid he might punish me this GW, but hopefully my new trio up front can match him.

Think you've got the main points right, I just think DGWs make other mids more appealing at a similar price.

Last season I thought he looked good, regularly involved but didn't really take his chances so he probably won't keep up his current rate but still looks good value.

Sorry, no good source. Hou Sæter should play as an attacking mid in a 4231, but maybe 80% nailed. Still great value at 5.0. Brochmann should be nailed as a right mid, Boli most likely left mid (forward in the game). Vetlesen nailed deeper at 4.5.

                7 years, 11 months ago

80% is probably enough for me. 7m for Brochmann is too much now that Adegbenro's injured (getting Helland in at some point, maybe now).

New players added over the last few weeks (might have missed some)

Benjamin Karamoko - Defender, 5.0, Haugesund

Another note. Børufsen out injured for a while for Start. He was the player threatening Kabran and Sigurdarson's game time. New signing Bringaker could play out wide, but shouldn't be considered as a starter right now IMO.

What players would you choose from the dgw teams if you were on wildcard this round? And how many?

            Currently have Barli/Tønne, Käck/Kabran/Floki, Sæter/Ohi, Nguen/Pedersen and Wormgoor.

Non-dgw players: Linde, Haugen, Hestad, Rasmussen and Helland. 0,4 in the bank.

Considering Floki to Skålevik, Nguen to Godset defender, Hestad to Aursnes, perhaps Wormgoor to Rolantsson ...

I'd go for many of the same as you. Maybe a couple of Nilsen, Gamst, Åsen as I think Tromsø will improve.

I'd look to get more Brann in from next week (from Haugen, Koomson, Teniste, Skålevik). Still think Wormgoor is far better value than Rolantsson.

Not on WC but I'm not going over the top with Godset options. Already got Jradi and that's enough for me, might even get rid of him after DGW due to tough fixtures.

I'm just trying to plan so I don't go over the top on DGW players I don't want later

            Jradi Koomson ASiggy Asen
            Ohi Amang Lord
            Who to captain?

Amang if he starts I guess, he has the potential to haul.

So, final day, how are everyones teams doing?

I've been on a WC all easter, trying to squeeze blood out of price-changes. Not a huge result, but I'm at 100,5 so can't complain too much.

              Ready !

              Linde
              Tønne-Woormgor-Glesnes
              Zachariassen-Hestad-Helland-Koomson
              Floki(C)-Lord(V)-Amang

              Barli-Granli-Kito-Landu

Team value 100,6 without WC, but one hit so far

Saving FT and will transfer in 2 DGW players next week and play "Parker bussen" chip
              WC GW5
              "Spissrush" GW6

What can possible go wrong ?

Keep a sharp eye on the Strømsgodset and Molde teamsheets... both Glesnes and Amang are in danger of a rotation. Cheeky with Floki-captain btw, I like it 🙂

my plan when I come to WC in GW5 is change Glesnes with Reginiussen
I think I will keep Amang as 3th forward as long as he get 2 out of 3 games from start

it is SO much more fun playing FantasyE this year because of your and Niemis efforts

Think I'm set up ok so far:

              Linde, (Barli)
              Wormgoor, Kack, Hedenstad (Kitolano, Tønne)
Jradi, Koomson, MGP, Hestad (v) (Sæter)
              Ohi (c), Lord, Amang

Rosenborg's form is a concern so will likely turn one into a dgw4 player if they blank again

Rumours that Aursnes and Haugen (Molde) might be benched.

Lehne Olsen fit, Stokke might play, Ulland Andersen close to a return but not this weak.

I can't afford that without either a seriously cheap defence, or dropping Koomson to pick him up again later.
Have considered it as won't play Koomson for a while anyway, just don't like losing the 0.1m

It looks like Telo and Mostrøm are going to start ahead of Haugen and Aursnes. Amang should start. The situation regarding Sarr makes it difficult to predict who starts alongside Forren.

Linde - Tonne Parr Kito - Sig Jradi Koom Asen - Brustad Bendt Opseth (C)

Bench - Opdal Stolas Nilsen Valla Donne

Any experts out there, am i right to bench Stolas ?

And should i wildcard this team next week as poor rank of 47k at present

I wouldn't WC next week, you'll want some kind of chip in stead. WC for GW5 is viable though.

I'm biased as a Rosenborg fan, but might want to look at using Stølås in stead of Kitolano. Looks like Stølås might be OOP on left midfield as well. Think you should be ok +/- with that team, but not much more than ok.

Haugesund are unlikely to keep a clean sheet so you should be alright in benching him.

I would wait until this round has been played before deciding to wildcard or not. It also depends on how heavy you want to go for the DGWs.

Hehe, I was kinda hinting that Odd is unlikely to keep CS as well, so I'd recomend the OOP player... but as I said, I'm kinda biased as a supporter, Rosenborg have been poor form.....

Kitolano, but I think both will score low this week.

Mostrøm is sick. Aursnes or Strand to start.

Aursnes buyers might get lucky after all.

Fantasy FK on Twitter: Jradi may be sick and not part of today's squad.

If true I think I'll still hold him for next week's double.

That's a curveball. Might drop him on my WC then.

Really depends on your opinon of dgw.

You're in decent shape I think. Make sure you can field a good XI this week (maybe take out Lehne Olsen or Amang if they don't start).

Rashani, Ejuke and Haugen the ones I'd look at changing for DGW players.
