Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It takes literally no skill to Wildcard in 32. Mahrez, Son, Salah, Willian, Gross .... etc etc etc etc. I could pop the template into my team in less than a minute.

I could not think of a more boring way to play the game. It doesn't deserve to do well, sorry. It deserves to fall flat.

I would love to see someone who does something inspired and unexpected smash the season run in.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about! Well done, Sir. 😀

Stanislas has had 3 more goal attempts than Salah in the last 4 and has created the most chances of any midfielder.

I literally have no idea why he isn't in the wildcard template. Bournemouth often score against the big teams.

I agree with this. Took Stanislas out when I activated my WC as soon as the deadline passed for Willian, but he's now back and as certain in my team as Mahrez and Lukaku.

Teams will give playtime to many bench players that late.
More rotation, making it harder to predict lineups.

You're right. It is a difficult situation.

You better Wildcard 5 gameweeks earlier then with little to no information about what will happen.

It would then likely be a Kane + Lingard v Lukaku and Son battle. Probably the latter, for now.

Oh hey it's you! Ha cheers. Still mulling over the Mustafi decision and yes the Kane situation is very relevant to my decision. Might still go for Mustafi and plan a move for Kane in 36

Does he look good vs Stoke? Is top 4 still close enough to risk him ahead of the SF? Does Poch mention how important the SF is? Too soon to know!

I'm going Auba and leaving the option of both Kane & Lukaku come GW34.

            Yeh, that's ideal.

Trouble is... I have to make a decision on Duffy or Mustafi for my WC. Mustafi means it's 3 moves or losing a better player for Kane. Duffy allows me to move for Kane easily with a Gross downgrade.

Sometimes I think Alonso is the best player in the game and the rest of time he's the shittiest player in the game. I think he will continue to be the latter for now.

He’s the best FPL defender, and an average defender/wingback at best who has a wicked FK. Nothing special, but a great fantasy asset.

I mean yeah I won't act surprised if he gets a 15 pointer next game or something but he is too inconsistent even while being the top scoring defender of the game.

Chelsea being in a bad form doesn't help too.

Bravery deserves no praise in this game. Only results matter. If he thinks Auba will score the most points in his team, he should captain him. But not for the sake of being brave or different.

It would've been brave to not captain Salah last week too. Would you praise those who didn't?

              I agree.

I see what you are saying but this is slightly different. Aubameyang's fixture is on paper easier than Salah's and he has no European commitments. Even if someone thinks Aubameyang may outscore Salah this week, the consequences of not captaining the one everyone else will have their armband on are potentially too great.

    B) Barnes and Sterling
