Our partner game Yahoo are offering another big-money contest for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest which takes in all seven matches from 3pm onwards tomorrow, finishing with the 5.30 pm encounter between Everton and Manchester City at Goodison Park.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to five teams. The top 125 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £250 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s best having a read over our Strategy Guide, which takes a look at the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

David De Gea – £16
Nicolas Otamendi – £16
Jose Holebas – £14
Paul Dummett – £12
Kenedy – £16
David Silva – £23
Riyad Mahrez – £22
Pascal Gross – £19
Jesse Lingard – £18
Romelu Lukaku – £24
Marko Arnautovic – £19

The Yahoo scoring system – which awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet – clinches David De Gea’s spot on our teamsheet for the visit of Swansea. Man United have kept more clean sheets (ten) and conceded fewer goals (seven) than any side in home matches, dropping just seven points in 15 matches at Old Trafford. The Swans, meanwhile, have scored just ten times in 15 away matches.

A trip to Everton hands Manchester City the chance to take another step towards the title. The league leaders’ defensive form on the road has been peerless – they have claimed more clean sheets (nine) than any side and also rank first for the fewest shots (107) allowed. City centre-half Nicolas Otamendi has recorded more successful passes (1189) than any defender away from home, while the Argentine is second only to Marcos Alonso for both shots (28) and goals (four) from defence this term.

Jose Holebas offers points potential in defence and attack for Watford’s home encounter with Bournemouth. Despite struggling on the road, the Hornets have conceded just one goal in three at Vicarage Road under Javi Gracia. An ever-present for the new manager, Holebas is ranked top among all defenders for crosses (49), successful crosses (11) and key passes (ten) since Gracia was appointed in Gameweek 25.

At the cost of only £12 in Yahoo, Paul Dummett hands us a cut-price route into a Newcastle defence that has conceded just two goals in their last five at St James’ Park. The Welshman has started every match from Gameweek 23 onwards and is the Magpies’ top-ranked defender for successful tackles (18), interceptions (13) and blocks (seven) during that stretch. That contribution could deter a visiting Huddersfield attack that has scored in just three of their previous 14 road trips.

Newcastle’s loan signing Kenedy will pose the Terriers plenty of problems tomorrow afternoon. The Brazilian scored twice against Southampton in his last home outing and has been the Magpies’ standout player since arriving from Chelsea. Over their last six matches, he is their top-ranked player for shots (14) and efforts in the box (seven), while no team-mate can better him for key passes (six), crosses (15) or successful crosses (five).

David Silva’s form on the road clinches a place in our XI. The Spaniard has played a part in 41% of Man City’s away goals when selected – more than any of Pep Guardiola’s regulars. With six of his eight goals and five of his nine assists arriving away from home, Silva looks set to torment an Everton rearguard that’s managed just one clean sheet in 11 attempts.

We opt for Pascal Gross and Riyad Mahrez as Brighton welcome Leicester to the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls have one clean sheet in their last 11 league matches, while their visitors have conceded in all but one of their last 11 on the road.

Gross has played a part in 52% of the Seagulls’ home goals, racking up five goals and six assists in front of his own supporters. At home this season, the German is the league’s number one player for successful crosses (34), while he sits second for big chances created (11) and fifth for key passes, with 43.

Mahrez, meanwhile, makes his way to the south coast having served up a goal or assist in 11 of his last 14 league starts. Over the last four Gameweeks, the Algerian is ranked third for goal attempts (13) and second for efforts on target (seven). Furthermore, he has form against the Seagulls, having supplied both assists in a 2-0 win over his hosts back in Gameweek 2

Man United pair Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku were both on the scoresheet for their national sides in the last fortnight.

Lingard grabbed a goal and an assist for England to boost his chances of returning to the United teamsheet at home to a Swansea outfit with just one clean sheet in their last 12 road trips. When selected, he has played a part in 35% of the Red Devils’ goals – almost on a par with Lukaku’s 38%.

The latter served up two goals and an assist in Belgium’s 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia to continue the form that has harvested eight goals and two assists in his last 11 matches in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Furthermore, away from home, the Swans are ranked second-bottom for both shots conceded (259) and efforts in the box against (160).

West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic warmed up for the visit of Southampton by firing three goals for Austria over the recent break. The summer signing has recorded seven of his eight shots on target in the Hammers’ last four league matches and faces a defence that’s mustered just one clean sheet in 12 on the road.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.

The Weekend Contests

As well as the Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest, Yahoo are also offering a Premier League £1k Sunday contest.

Containing both matches from that day, it gets underway at 1.30pm on Sunday, when Arsenal take on Stoke City the Emirates Stadium and concludes with the Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur match at 4 pm.

This is also guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to two teams. The top 50 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £100 going to the first place.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

So what's the thinking on Man Utd defenders (esp. Smalling) now?

I met get an Arsenal def for two and see what occurs. Can always get Christensen if not. Have DDG.

    Thoughts?

    Hi all,

How does this team look? On WC and 0.1 ITB. Still have all chips, planning to BB in 34 and TC in 37.

I know Stephens is the weak link, would appreciate any input or comments.

    Thank you

    DDG - (Ryan)

Christensen - Morgan - Tarko (Lowton) - (Kiko)

Salah - Mahrez - Son - Willian (Stephens)

    Lukaku - Firmino - Vardy

Will Kiko play OOP as Deulofeu is injured? I read that somewhere, and that's the reason I picked him rather than another Leicester defender.

He could be rotated when Chelsea play three times in eight days between 14th and 22nd april. If ucl position has slipped out of reach by then he could be rested for second dgw fixture with facup semi final in mind? Just specularive scenario though, I think I'll go for him nevertheless.

Ok, so this is my plan.

    Team:

    Pope , Adrian

    Otamendi - Robertson - Ogbonna - Davies - Mee

    Shaqiri - Salah - Lingard - Sterling - Richarlison

    Firmino - Kane - Murray

I'm keeping Kane and hoping his gonna be fit for gw 34, that means I'm gonna have.. Pope, Davies, Mee, Lingard, Kane, Murray +2 saved transfers that will be converted into 2 DGW players, so that makes it 8 DGW players for the GW 34.

Then I'll still have WC-, TC- and BB-card left to play for the upcoming DGW at GW 36 or so.

The reason for doing this (and not going WC and BB gameweek 33-34) is to prevent myself from going almost complete blank on gameweek 35, since the players that play DGW on 34 isn't playing GW 35 (except Burnley)

    Feedback please 🙂
