Next up, we take our post-Gameweek delve into the members’ data to assess some of the standout players across the previous round of fixtures.

With Double Gameweeks shaping our plans, Arsenal’s new goal hero, Chelsea’s recent lack of resilience and the form of Man City’s playmaker all come under analysis.

Burnley and Newcastle’s budget frontmen also catch the eye, while we also run the rule over a Fantasy slump for a Stamford Bridge big-hitter.

If I decide to get in Kane for GW34, what would be the best way?

    My squad:

    DDG (Ryan)
Morgan - Christensen - Mustafi (Tarkowski, Lowton)
Salah - Mahrez - Gross - Willian (Gudmundsson)
    Vardy - Auba - Lukaku

    0.4M ITB.

Think I'm gonna save my transfer this week and then looking at these three options for a hit:

A: Mustafi, Gudmundsson, Auba --> 4.6M def (Naughton?), King and Kane.
B: Mustafi, Gross, Auba --> 5.5M def (Jones/Smalling?), King and Kane.
C: Mustafi, Willian, Auba --> 4.7M def (Naughton?), Lingard and Kane.

Will BB in 34 and FH 35.

I think my WC team is finally ready to go! I've changed it a whole load of times since Sat and finally have something I kinda like! Lost about 0.5m in the process!

Played around with Vardy and Lukaku but think Lukaku Kane are the way to go.

Lloris Ryan (LLoris is .5m cheaper then De Gea and has decent fixtures till the end)

    Smalling Vertonghen Christensen Morgan Tarkowski

    Salah Mahrez Willian Lingard Milivojevic

    Kane Lukaku Barnes

    BB 34 - 13 DGWK players
    FH 35
    TC 37 - KANE

Christiansen maybe worth a punt as he’s fairly cheap, but after watching that game it’s obvious the players aren’t playing for the manager, and they have nothing to play for either really.

I'm FH34, and considering going without Chelsea - or maybe just Alonso if I can squeeze him in price-wise.

DDG, Lingard and one of Lukaku/Sanchez looks decent value alongside Kane.

I just noticed Mkytarian got 2x90 with Armenia on March 24 and March 27 which could actually explain his rest against Stoke.

I think he is a very interesting prospect until the end of the season although Arsenal only have EL left to play.

henrik played very few football between november and january so no real need to be rested and should be fresh.

This is between him and Willian but Willian really looked like disinterested against Spurs didn't he?!

    1. HamezMace
      • 11 Years

I think Mkhi is the biggest rotation threat for Arsenal whilst they are still in the EL.
Mkhi seems to flourish in European games more than against PL sides.

      1. PrettyDick
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 12 months ago

I (respectfully) disagree. I think Ramsey is the most prone to rotation, du to his injury record. Second is jack.

Mkhi hasn’t played a lot over the course of the season so he should be fresh. I think this was a one off due to him playing the most out of everybody while away on international duty .

When they played Milan for instance he played almost every minute of every game, even the EPL games in before, between and after.

However, one never really knows what Arsene is thinking. Good luck with whoever you pick!

          • 11 Years

I appreciate you noting your respect 🙂

I feel Mkhitaryan is more effective against European sides. This was the same during his spell with United. PL games, against bottom half teams, Mkhitaryan struggles to break these teams down.

But in Europe the game flows easier which benefits him.

This is why I feel he’s more likely to be rested in the PL.

As you say, this stage of the season, teams in other competitions, it’s anyones guess

          1. PrettyDick
            • 8 Years
            7 years, 12 months ago

            🙂

You might be right about PL vs EL, however I haven’t gotten the impression that that’s what’s the basis on which AW makes his selections. Seems like he’s just trying to keep player away from injury/fatigue for the EL.

But you are of course right that he is a rotation risk, I just think that Ramsey (for instance) is a bigger one. But I do also think he’s a bigger point threat than mkhi, had he been a nailed on starter there’s no way I would’ve left him out of my team.

Another aspect worth noting is that no matter who is rested, it effects their entire game. Especially offensively. In order for Arsenal to be a great fpl value team they need to play all their best players. Which he almost never does. So for me, I’m just grateful last GW turned out so great (Auba(c) and Montreal) and have my fingers crossed that next one will as well. After that I am done with Arsenal, unless I see any significant change.

Unfortunately at this stage of the season rotation amongst the teams still in other competitions is inevitable.
It’s just about trying to predict the safest options.
The fact Mkhi was rested at the weekend with the EL this week, suggests AW knows how important he is for the European games.

I brought him in on a wildcard last week (FH34, BB37) - and whilst it was disappointing to see him on the bench, it wasn't a complete surprise.

I'm keeping and monitoring. His potential upside is high for the price. If he continues to be see limited playing time, he'll make way to fund Kane in 36. But until then, happy to give him a chance.

      1. PrettyDick
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 12 months ago

Yeah, if you have him I would say *absolutely* keep him! If anything he’s the most likely to start next week out of all the offensive Arsenal players who are also electable for EL.

When he does play I think he at least equals Aubameyangs point potiental, if not exceeds it. That has nothing to due with how I rate them btw, just how Arsenal are playing.

(Look back ahead of today’s games how many of their goals, even assists, are from midfielders or even defenders.. I haven’t gone through the exact numbers but I wouldn’t be surprised if their defenders equal their attackers in offensive returns in 2018..)

The other GK will play in 34 and as Ryan rotates well with DDG is it worth doing?

Have given up on 34BB as I don't feel I can make the most of it with a potential bench of Adrian, dunk, Kennedy plus 1 more.

Planning TC on Lukaku in 34 instead.

Looking at doing Mee and Wilson to Dummet and Lukaku look for 34?

    Team would be
    DDG
    Vvd Christensen Morgan
    Salah Mahrez Zaha Shaq
    Auba Lukaku (TC) Firmino

    Bench: Adrian, Kennedy, Dunk, Dummet

Not the strongest but feel my single gameweekers have decent fixtures.... and have no free hit so having to factor in 35 as well
Does this look a good plan?

Any thoughts would be great cheers

Does it make sense that if City wrap up the title, Gundogan will become much more nailed on? Silva I’m sure wants to go back to Spain to be with family.

Doesn't "rotation" mean that everyone will take their turns in playing and not playing, rather than the fringe players will just play every game?

Could do, but he seems like he could be what knits the fringe players together as playmaker. But yeah, anyone’s guess.

Agreed. In fact, I'm thinking about loading up on dSillva, Sane and Sterling for my GW36 WC, on the basis that two out of three should play every match, as they're the only MCI attackers who are comfortable playing left of center.

Wrong. He will play Diaz and Bernardo Silva if league is over and in champions league.

Yes, but the implication is that the "key" players will play Europe and the fringe ones will play the league. So rotating in and out between Europe and home...no? It won't exactly be a complete second eleven in the PL but it might be significantly different to the first choice team.

Fair enough - I guess a lot will depend on if Man City get through to the CL semis.

Yeah. If they go out to Liverpool then anything might happen, if they go through they will surely hold back the key people from the league to save them for games against Barca, Real or Bayern.

Although a lot of times Zinchenko has gotten the nod ahead of Danilo, and I feel like he prefers to play academy youth over Danilo who might even be on his way out in the summer? Pep doesn’t seem to trust him very much for the future at least

Is David De Gea the best use of money on a WC?

    In the last 5 games:

    De Gea: 1 Clean sheet
    Lloris: 3 Clean sheets

    Forthcoming fixtures:

De Gea: mci, WBA, bou, ARS, bri
Lloris: sto, MCI, bri, WAT, wba

For me for £0.5m less Lloris is the much safer bet. Better form and better fixtures. So why is everyone punting for DDG in their wildcards?

    1. El-Kloppico
      • 10 Years

But DDG is the safest way in ManU def. Bar Valencia who is more expensive.

Should also add DDG has not had any bonus points for 15 gameweeks. Not had too many save points in that time either.

I guess that the most people think that Manchester United has the better defence because of the memories of the past years (Spurs was not good in defence the last years). But I also think that Lloris will get more points the next games.

I'd have Aubameyang this week, then transfer Lukaku in for GW34.

Apart from that, you're a little bit weak at the back but it could pay off.

How do the following moves look for (-4) ?

    Gomez + Stanislas -> Mustafi + Mane

    Will FH in 34 + field 11 in GW35

It is effectively a -2 since i expect the 2 players taken out to miss the next 2 GW's

    Leaves me with :

    Pope
    Mee Otamendi Duffy Mustafi
    Salah Mane Gudmundsson Mahrez
    Aubameyang Firmino

    Fabianski Wilson PVA Doucoure

Best mid for 6.8 or less for 33 & 34?

    A) Groß
    B) Lingard
    C) Gudmundsson
    D) Other
