In a season that has thrown up a number of surprises, some solace can be taken in the predictable. After dominating the midfield scoring charts in 2016/17, with Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min all among the top ten scoring midfielders in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Spurs’ dynamic trio are at it again.

All three once more sit near the summit of the positional scoring charts, ranking fifth, sixth and seventh in the midfield rankings. Amazingly, after 32 Gameweeks, there are just nine points between them, highlighting the fine margins that have separated these players throughout the current campaign.

In recent weeks, however, it has been Alli who has come to the fore – staking a claim to significant Fantasy interest ahead of a pair of Double Gameweeks to close out the year.

Is Alli’s recent form enough to earn him favour over Spurs’ other midfield options – or will one of Son or Eriksen emerge as the superior asset during FPL’s final Gameweeks?

In our latest members’ Monitor article, we crunch the Opta data for an answer.

Nope. Bad choice if you ask me! We are in good form. Beaten only twice in 11 this year. And that was Pool away and City away.

Yeah can’t fault your form, but Leicester is a tough place to go. I’m just surprised Mahrez and Vardy haven’t been talked about more as potential captaincy options with really only Aubameyang as the stand out pick.

Disagree. 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats in the last 6 away games. And the 2 defeats were City and Pool. 1 of the draws was Bournemouth where we were 2-0 up and only conceded in the last minute. And the other draw was Palace which we mostly doninated. I’m the first to say when we are in poor form (which is most of the time), but right now we are in form.

Doesn't matter Newcastle win or lose. They concede goals away from home which is what I want. Even in wins vs west ham and all they game away goals

2 points away from home in last 4.Hardly impressive and wins vs relegation teams. Poor in the sense not like stoke and WBA level but still attractive enough for opponents to exploit

    B) Vardy + Monreal -> Kane + 4,5 (-4)
    C) Hold for next GW
    Have exact funds for both.
    Team now:
    DDG / Ryan
    Vertongen / Monreal / Tark / Morgan / Cedric
    Mahrez / Salah / Lingard / Son / Gudmonsen
    Lukaku / Murray / Vardy

I played WC last week, planning BB in 34 but no FH in 35. Because no FH wanted to keep Liverpool players and Gudmundsson who also plays 35.

If Salah and Gudmundsson are out is team below OK for 33 (will play Salah over Lowton just in case) and go into 34 with 2 free transfers?

Biggest danger is no Kane but was not planning to get him this week but remains option for double.Hoping Son scores well v Stoke.

    Ryan
    Lowton Mustafi Morgan Alonso
    Son Mahrez Willian
    Aubameyang (c) Firmino Barnes

    DDG Salah Smalling Gudmundsson

Kaku because of fixtures. I don't see kane getting 180 minutes so soon after injury. Yes he wants golden boot but he doesn't want it more than getting on that plane.

        For the salah report?

The injury is a concern for sure but looking at how the fixtures fall around their anticipated European schedule I'm not sure I love holding either of them.

Also I'd be swapping two single gwers for two double doublers (minus lingard rotation). I can bring either/both back in on free hit 35 and then get salah back for 38.

        Still wait?

Ps: it's for a minus four.

    DDG
    Alonso, Monreal, Smalling
    Mahrez, Mkhi, Salah*, Gross
    Auba, Vardy*, Murray

    Pope, Lowton, Gudmund, Chilwell

    * = Salah & Vardy > Willian & Kane (-4)?
I was planning out ousting Auba for Lukaku but now I'm not sure given Arsenal's DGW and Auba's form. This being said I recognise the need for Utd attackers currently.

This was my original plan - then Ali did so well last week - history shows he does well over a couple of matches and the goes quiet. Also Mhik was benched for me last weekend and was planing to bring Ali in for him next week, expecting Kane to still be out.

I'd rather eriksen to alli. But generally I'd say it depends on when you'll bench boost. If you go kane plus ayew in 37 that could be really nice. If you're talking about both as ever presents though I think probably son and eriksen (alli). I'd be wary about doubling up so heavily though, even with the nice fixtures.

For the last 3 season I agree with this, Eriksen was ever present for me last season, but this year I can't catch a break with him. You are right though, I think come 37 ill have Kane and Eriksen. I can bring him in for Salah this week and still have money to bring in Kane

It's true. When I watch him I find he's both a horrible asset to have and a horrible asset not to have. Always seems on the verge. But I prefer a 6-5-7-6 player to a 2-3-14-5 myself.

I wouldn't want to get rid both Liverpool assets. (Says the one who has none after WC)

    On WC:

Salah + Gudmundsson to Alli + Lingard?
...that's a lot of value to lose on Salah...

    DDG Ryan
    Vertonghen Christensen Morgan Lowton Dunk/Tark
    Mahrez Salah Gross Willian Gudmundsson
    Kane Barnes Auba
