After Arsenal edged past Southampton at the Emirates, the curtain comes down on Gameweek 33 as Chelsea welcome West Ham United to Stamford Bridge.

At home to a defence that’s conceded 11 goals in their last three road trips, Antonio Conte’s side could emerge as big armband differentials this afternoon.

Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard are among the top 11 captains for GW33, yet both have been handed the armband by less than 2% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) matches.

Meanwhile, the in-demand Willian is named on the teamsheet for the fifth successive Gameweek. The most bought midfielder (178,000+) for Gameweek 33, the Brazilian has served up four goals and three assists in his last seven league starts.

At the back, however, Andreas Christensen’s run of five straight starts comes to an end ahead of Double Gameweek 34 as Gary Cahill replaces the young Dane on the teamsheet.

For the visitors, Marko Arnautovic leads the line again on the back of his two-goal haul against Southampton last week.

The Austrian has form against Conte’s side, having netted the winner in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea back in Gameweek 16.

Does anyone have idea who to bring for wc in 35 which could also work solid for BB 37? I'm thinking something like:
    3 Arsenal
    3 Liverpool
    1-2 City
    Arnautović
    1 Newcastle
    Lowton
Bench: 2 united, 1 leicester, 1 spurs (with free transfers also get someone from chelsea)

Pool, Arsenal, City could all rotate materially till the end of the season.

Unfortunately my team for 35 would look like utter...... cuz i dont have free hit and last 3 weeks was building team to field 10 double gameweekers, so in 35 without wc i would have something like 5-6 players

He's played something like 8 games in a row. He's only 21. It makes sense to take him out of the lineup every now and then.

In my opinion, Cahill is finished and I'd be surprised if he's still a Chelsea player next season.

    B) Gross ota --> lingard max6.5 (-4 hit)
    C) gross ota robertson --> lingard azpi max4.6 (-8 hit)

I had Baines / Coleman until Friday night. I think you saw my posts about it lol. Also sold Shaqiri, VVD and Mounie 😆

Not doing badly with the WC team though, so my main loss is the freedom of a GW36 WC rather than points 🙂

Sorry about that! But I think Christensen is a bit of a dodgy pick anyway. I suppose he has some attacking threat, but compared with Azpi and Alonso, not really, plus Azpi's bonus bonus. Unlucky though. 🙂

    4. Piggs Boson
      • 14 Years

Nice. I'm investing a bit more at the back next season I think. I've always loved a cheap back-line, but defenders are becoming more involved in attacks these days. Some are essentially 7.0m mids, that also get 4pts for a clean sheet.

      1. Deulofail
        • 10 Years
        8 years, 3 months ago

Yeah, if they are nailed, they provide a decent, reliable source of points, and you don't have to be taking hits every other week at the start of the season if you want to keep up with the emerging Capoues and Grosses. And you still have the flexibility to switch a mid if you save a FT then downgrade an expensive defender anyway.

Worked okay for me, with 5 at the back for the first 9GWs. Actually my switch of tactic on a GW10 WC cost me 30points that week, maybe more long-term.

I wouldn't invest in premium defenders for the sake of it. But I don't think people should avoid them simply because they seem expensive for defenders or they like the idea of 'flexibility' and 'balance'. Each player can be evaluated individually, and premium defenders can often be a safer and better value route to points accumulation! 😀

        Sorry for long response 🙂

        1. Piggs Boson
          • 14 Years
          8 years, 3 months ago

I love long responses. Yeah, there needs to be a balance, but keeping a premium slot at the back, with a 5.5 slot would be useful for balance and jumping on the defenders who look the best value.

Apart from Alonso/Azpi, are there any premium defenders actually worth considering for gw34?

So much potential rotation. So few clean sheets. Are FH34ers better off going with nailed Leicester and Burnley assets and spending the cash elsewhere?
