Arriving in the midst of a lukewarm Double Gameweek, the latest episode of the ScoutCast is more intent on looking ahead as the entire five-man crew press the button on the Free Hit chip.

We’re back to full strength, as Granville, Jonty, Andy and Az join me to discuss our approach to Gameweek 35’s slimline schedule, inspired by another round of your community questions.

That attacking riches on offer from Manchester City and Liverpool dominate the early chatter, as we give our take on the run-in targets least likely to suffer from rotation to feature for Free Hitters and the “chipless” this weekend.

We then pan for Gameweek 35 gold in less familiar territory, as we re-open the Coleman vs Baines debate ahead of their meeting with a Newcastle outfit perhaps already in flip-flops after four straight wins.

End of season template busters help round things off before we career into the regular weekend preview to offer early thoughts on the Gameweek armband.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

70k overall. 40 points behind ML leader.

Can I afford to take a -8? Atm can't even field an 11

Just brought in Jesus for Kaku on an FT.

Now thinking a combination of De Bruyne, Sterling and Zaha in place of Alli and Mahrez.
        What would you suggest?

ML leader has wildcard intact and I suspect will be loading up on City, so maybe a Zaha and a city defender a better pick..

Sterling is a must own IMO. He's scored more points than KDB has this season so if anything I'd sooner lose KDB than him.

      40 points is do able.
Take into account chip situation with regard his and your team.
Don't panic and take big hits this week if you don't have FH.

Cheers mate. That's the issue, he has WC so I'm at a big disadvantage and have to take risks. Currently only have 7 playing in 35 so looks like hit o'clock

Would you take as many hits as it takes to field an 11? I guess I need to take big risks

If you bring DGW 37 players then it will be worth it

I'm taking -12 hit in order to field 11 and also mini-WC for 37

      Getting Jesus Sterling Auba

Wrong stratgey. Work backwards with each hit and guesstimate how each hit will effect your GW score and your DGW37 score (assuming you are taking out some DGW37ers as part of the multiple hit).
Then think back to the GW when you used your FH (again, I assume you have) and look at the points you gained that GW.

    5. Rainer
      • 9 Years
      8 years, 3 months ago

Be selective with your hits. Plan ahead even though the season is nearly finished. Getting 2 or 3 of the right City players in early could see that 40 point gap vanish.

      I wouldn't take a hit for someone who doesn't have a DGW in 37.

      1. ignis88

That's the issue, he has wildcard intact and I suspect will bring in triple city attack

Its tough, especially if he's likely to cover you.

I'd probably get a few City in this week, Zaha if you have a gut feeling with him and go for it. Good luck!

Went for Arnie over Zaha this week, and obviously regret that now. Do love watching Zaha play too, that goal against Bournemouth was something else.

Think it'll have to be KDB, Walker, and Zaha. Iwobi in the mix too!

13 point lead at the top of my ML, my rival is using his FH, so im reluctant to surrender my spot at the top 🙁 although its inevitable.

    Lowton Tarkowski VVD
    Sterling Salah Miliojevic
    Aubamayang Jesus Barnes

Am i losing my top spot with these 9?

    DDG Ryan
    Christensen Morgan
    Son Willian

Unless you can see a -4 worth taking from the rest.

35 behind ML leader. Got FH and triple, he used all of his chips. I also had WC, used it and then he had like 30 points more with bench boost, and I believed Icould be ahead like 50 points after 34, LOL at me.

Top 5K atm. But, only have 3 players playing for this week. Used my FH earlier.

I wouldn't go crazy with hits. I don't know how many FTs you have (I'm assuming 1), but I wouldn't take more than a -8, which would presumably leave you with 7 players. Enough for damage limitation. Who are your 3?

Actually scratch that, not Lacazette. Aubameyang or Arnautovic, since they'll be more assured of DGW37 playing time in all likelihood.

Only posting this to show others how easily your season can drastically improve from one GW.

hehe, what players did you get in? Great jump in rank btw!

Cheers mate, I managed to get 99(-4) for this week so that was nice to see. Just missed out on triple figures by 5 points doh.

Well, because of my OR being quite low (I'm quite a way off in my main money ML and a head to head league with my mate) I've taken some risks:

        Mahrez > Sterling
        Pogba >Arnautovic
        Vardy > Firmino
        Lukaku > Perez
        Chilwell > Yedlin
        Kane > Jesus

I'm going on the basis that I can get by with City assest for the DGW (I'm not going to be investing heavily in other teams for that) and the odd Pool player here and there and then just try and wing it on some differential picks. Like I said, if I stick too closely to the template it's not going to help me close any gaps.

How would you shave 0.1 off this FH team?

    Pickford
    Monreal VVD Baines
    KDB Salah Sterling Zaha Arnautovic
    Jesus Aubameyang

    Nordfeldt | Wood, PVA, Long

    a) Long to 3.9
    b) Auba to Laca
    c) Wood to Barnes
    d) Something else

      a) should be a given because your FH third sub isn't going to get any game time, come what may.

Up to you on the others.

If I was in a situation where I thought I needed him in my team I'd certainly consider it, but would probably land on Jesus or Sterling.

I think City could seriously annihilate Swansea at the Ethiad. On a high after winning the league and Swansea are atrocious.

WBA at home is not an easy, 3/4/5-0 kind of fixture. I think there will be more goals in other fixtures. That being said, Mo is a genius and could easily grab a couple. But I'd probably err on the side of caution.

Depends what you think everyone else will do and whether or not you can get a head of them with a sneaky captain pick...

Thnaks, tbh I am inclining to match him and use Salah as differential.

    2. JohnnyMagrinho
      8 years, 3 months ago

It's not as if you'd be relying on some inconsistent forward to get you goals...

If you're confident he's going safe with Jesus and you need to catch him then consider a different captaincy pick.

Salah is never a bad option as a captain. Ever.

Based on Wenger's comments, Auba won't start.
I'm relying on AE to see whether Firmino will be rested or not - if not I'll check the lineups 1 minute before the deadline.

Liverpool tend to post their team 45 seconds before the deadline so even if AE don't get the leak we still have some time to fix our teams as long as we have a backup plan

Thoughts on this FH, I don’t think there is much risk going in with no sub keeper and a 3.9 on the bench.

    Robertson Baines PVA
    Salah KDB Mane Sterling Zaha
    Jesus Laca

    3.9 Perez K.Long 3.9

Got 113 this DGW, captained Salah. I think it was a pretty fantastic GW overall, got a 13,344 GW rank, my best of the season. Finally moved into #1 in my ML having kept all my chips till the end. LET'S GO!!! Just getting around to listening to the podcast and surprised how low their scores were (prior to today's games).

Sorry for humble brag but I'm thrilled.

    My team:
    De Gea - Ryan
    Smalling - Maguire - Lowton - Vertonghen - Naughton
    Sterling - Salah - Son - Mahrez - Mili
    Barnes - Lukaku - Vardy

Sterling is in the goals, Silva is solid but probably won't replicate his 3-4 goals over 3 GW's that he had a few weeks back, although he too is having one of his best seasons ever in terms of goals ...
